Five Roman emperors from the Nerva-Antonine dynasty are considered the β€˜Five Good Emperors’. This includes Marcus Aurelius, but doesn’t include Lucius Verus, his co-emperor. Why not?

I’ve always wondered this; did Verus do something to disqualify him from being labelled good? Thanks in advance

What was the reputation of the Nerva–Antonine dynasty (the Adopted Emperors or Five Good Emperors) in their times?

In the Renaissance the so called Five Good Emperors of the 2nd century Roman Empire is to have brought the Empire to its heights. They were depicted as brilliant and good. That depiction has stayed in the popular consciousness.

But what was the reputation of this dynasty during the Roman Empire itself?

Now onto the current contest: To put it simply, anything about the "five good emperors" Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, Antonius Pius and Marcus Aurelius.

The Nerva Antonine dynasty, or 5 "good" emperors is a dynasty and period in Roman history marked as the empire's "peak", in size, strength, economy and stability. Each emperor emperor is as well known for their relatively stable and long rule.

During the Nerva-Antonine period, what position(s) acted as viceregal authorities in Rome when the emperor was away on a campaign or tour? (like magister equitum for a dictator) Or if none had this explicit authority, what position(s) were most authoritative in Rome when the emperor was absent?

Examples of individuals who fulfilled a viceregal role, even if unofficially, would be interesting to know, if there were no positions that actually had this recognized authority.

Was the Antonine wall abandoned because of the Irish?

The Brigantes were in the process of being Romanised and the new wall was objectively more defensible but I can't help but think that the only major difference is that the narrowest point between Britain and the known to be raiders Scoti that were now behind the line.
