Disclaimer: Personal opinion and experience
Here we go. I don't even need to explain how incredibly unpopular this is. Everywhere this song just gets bashed and trashed, even some fans of the group were also expressing disappointment.
But I think this is the best TT by 127. But u guys may ask what about Kick it? Cherry bomb? Superhuman ? Limitless? No. No. No. No. Nothing tops sticker.
I'll tell u why. Most of their TT are absolute bangers. Bops. BUT for me there's always a saturation point for a song. Like even if I love a song the absolute most, after like a 100 listens it, stops being as amazing as it felt like the first time. Kinda like ur brain already expects everything so the suprise point is no longer there and the song loses the charm it had the first listen.
But with Sticker, it's the absolute opposite case. I did like it when it came out, but it keeps getting better and better every listen. The saturation point is infinity. Even after 300 listens, my brain still kind of trips out about the unexpected elements in the song. Sticker is one of the very few songs that does this to me !!
I absolutely love it and I can stand on the hill and say this is one of the best works musically by NCT 127 !!
Edit: I absolutely love how u guys have different fav title tracks in the thread ! Although sticker is the best to me, they do have a lot of great ones so I can't disagree with any of u either lol Just goes to show they've catered to different musical tastes and I love that about NCT 127. Thanks for the replies π
HACKER + UNIVERSITY STUDENT = COWBOYS IN VEGAS ?????
SM PICK A THEME JFC
See NCT Dream running a cafe made sense for the Hot Sauce comeback. The hacking theme even made sense when they released the first teaser, Neo Culture TECHNOLOGY. I was genuinely excited about the student by day - hacker by night theme.
Then they released a mini sitcom where Mark was spiderman & Johnny improved the entire thing w/ a fake laugh track in the back (to this day they have never really explained wtf that had to do w/ their Sticker comeback..). Thats where they started losing me. However I still had hope then.
Then on livestream Yuta just blurted out "cowboy" & I was like nahh this mf crying wolf, that is so out of left field he probably just watched a western movie or something. Nope. He done bamboozled us w/ the truth yet again.
Finally the m/v we have all been waiting for is released- the possessed flute starts playing some bikini bottom sounding tune & the camera zooms in on Taeyong in a cowboy hat & I think i'm being punked, I was waiting for Ashton Kutcher to pop out of dumpster (if you're too young to get that reference go to sleep it's passed ur bedtime).
I was expecting a hacker theme, maybe like they hack their universities computers to give them As or some bs but what I got was a chihuahua in a sheriffs uniform..
Like the m/v itself was amazingly done, definitely their highest budget m/v yet & it shows- but also wtf.
Someone get me on the phone w/ SMs marketing team, I just want to talk..
The album slapped tho, literally all their b-sides are absolute ~bops~ (breakfast being the best one in my opinion)
don't even get me started on the nightmare their photobook was tho or the LACK OF STICKERS IT CONTAINED THERE WASNT EVEN FCKING STICKERS IN THE M/V- THE CONCEPT WAS LITERALLY RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU HOW DO YOU BLWO IT THAT BAD- GIVE US STICKERS YOU CHEAP FUCKS
EDIT: WE NEVER EVEN FOUND OUT WHO STICKER WAS NOW IM MORE MAD
Haven't seen any discussion about the new tour's setlist yet so I figured I'd get the ball rolling with the first show's set. Obviously, concert spoilers below!

To those who went, how was the concert?

(Also if anyone picked up the names of the Unknown solo songs, let me know and I'll update the post.)
This is my second post because my first post about NCT DREAM got a lot of attention I decided to make another one for NCT 127. I want to make another one for WAYV too but with Lucas's hiatus I don't know when will they have a comeback. I once again want to thank u/DooOooT-dOOoOOt for their help.
So its been more than 400 days after Kick it for NCT 127 and I was so hyped for the comeback. Before I start, my previous knowledge about NCT 127 was all about Mark and Haechan due to NCT DREAM. I also knew number 127 came from the longitude of Seoul and they are the global group. Now let me start what I thought about NCT 127 that was wrong while in Sticker content.
1. I thought Doyoung was the leader.
He just has an aura that screams authority. Even though later I found out Taeyong is the leader it didn't suprised me to learn that he also said Doyoung helped him a lot throughout the process. However I was suprised when Taeyong also mentioned Mark as another member who helped him leading!! He was so young and busy despite leading dream for years it seemed impossible.
2. I still occasionally confuse Taeyong and Yuta.
In NCT DREAM, it was Jeno and Jaemin and in 127 it's Taeyong and Yuta. However Taeyong and Yuta have very diffrent personalities and most of the time very diffrent hair colors so it helped a bit.
3. I thought Jaehyun and Doyoung were same age.
I don't know why but it was quite a suprise to me hearing Jaehyun is part of maknae line or maybe once upon a time he was the maknae. Taeyong saying Jaehyun was the first maknae and categorizing other members younger or older than Jaehyun was quite an adorable story.
4. I thought Jungwoo was a visual.
I just think he is insanely pretty. I definitely see why Jaehyun and Taeyong are visuals and all of them are so handsome but Jungwoo caught my eye first.
5. I thought Jaehyun was a sub-vocalist.
Turns out he is a main vocal. Now the reason why I thought he was a sub vocalist wasn't about Jaehyun's technique. He was clearly center and visual and he wasn't getting a lot of lines for a main vocal so it made me underestimate his abilities. After that I checked his covers and they are my favourite covers from NCT. He is very talented as a vocalist. It's a shame I didn't noticed that at first.
Other impressions I had:
1- Compared to NCT DREAM, to me spotting main dancers, main rappers, centers, main vocals (with the execption of Jaehyun) was easy.
2- Taeil have an amazing che
... keep reading on reddit β‘I've heard NCT's songs referred to as "noise music" which I get, but I'm thinking that WayV's songs are more "palatable" than the other units, maybe because it's a different market. What do you think? I like all the subunits and I'm assuming they all have the same producers.
If you've seen NCT 127 live in concert just know your God's favorite π I just officially joined the Fandom last year despite always listening to their songs and I've made up my mind as soon as they are able to tour again I'm going. I don't even care if I go alone, I'm seeing them before I die.
They are literally all so talented, like every single person in the group can dance and sing and based on what I've seen from some concert fan cams π they are wonderful live performers.
I hope when they go on tour they come to Canada!

I watched the concert on Beyond Live today and I was really impressed by their solo stages. The fact that most of the members who sung/rap self-composed or co-composed their songs makes it even more impressive and special. The members who danced were amazing. I don't know how they can go up on stage and dance by themselves. For me, dancing solo is even more nerve racking then singing solo. Each member really showed their own uniqueness through these performances and it was a reminder of just how talented they all are. Also, I really liked Jungwoo's and Mark's outfits for their solos. What are your thoughts on their solo stages? Did anyone in particular stand out to you?

Music can inform so many aspects of life, and for many people, it is an essential part of their day-to-day routine. In particular, Kpop is an excellent example of this. However, not all songs have a positive influence; in fact, some songsβ impacts can be catastrophically drastic. βRegular β English Versionβ by NCT 127, released in October 2018, is a prime example of this concept. The songβs deeply problematic lyrics outline a nearly unachievable lifestyle, which as will soon be studied, is extremely concerning. NCT 127βs βRegular β English Versionβ, due to its atrociously horrendous lyrics, will cause economic downfall and, ultimately, the rapid deterioration of humanityβs existence.
Disappointingly, the song begins with an astoundingly rude rap verse. Interestingly enough, of the most questionably problematic lines in the entire song occurs here: βI be grindinβ, you waste timeβ (NCT 127). Mark Lee delivers this line with astonishing condescension, considering its underlying meaning. In recent years, groups of internet influencers have pushed the βgrindβ mentality. Examples of this are people who wake up at very early hours, exercise a lot, work their own businesses, and then share their lives as inspiration to preach their perfect-looking lives to others. Though nothing is wrong with these lifestyles, they are often unattainable for the average person. Many of these βgrind influencersβ are already wealthy, and simply portray their lives onscreen as completely different from what they actually are. An article titled βIs The βGrind 24/7β Mindset Detrimental To Oneβs Mental Health?β states: βIn a[n]β¦interview, Destinyβs Child alumna Michelle Williams stated that she doesnβt believe in the βgrind βtil you dieβ mentality, adding that βmental health is way more importantββ (Gonzalez, Alex). Clearly, from the lyric that Mark Lee sings, he does not care about mental health; neither does SM Entertainment, NCT 127 as a whole, or anyone remotely involved in creating this song.
A second example that demonstrates what an absolute monstrosity this song exemplifies is the line βVVS my diamonds, I donβt need no light to shineβ (NCT 127). As the beginning of the chorus following the beat drop, this line holds a lot of influence over the song at large, which proves to be a terrible thing. βVVS diamonds are bas
... keep reading on reddit β‘No but seriously. I like Superhuman a lot. It's a very good song. It's an agreeable song. You listen to it first time you like it. You said YEEEEAAAH SUPERHUMAN when you opened this post. Sometimes I sing Haechanβs βYou see my hope was all but goneβ randomly in the shower at school what have you.
And yet I wouldn't place Superhuman as one of my ultimate favourites in the list of NCT 127 title tracks.
Not that I rank them cause I'm indicisive like that but title tracks I personally would rank higher than Superhuman is Fire Truck, Cherry Bomb, Sticker and Simon Says. The numbering changes constantly for me but those are the big ones. Which honestly says a lot about Superhuman and the nature of subjective music tastes. Superhuman being mid on NCT 127βs discography should be proof of how goddamn great I think they are.
Honestly I think more than anything the discourse around Superhuman is the thing that annoys me. Namely that reason that why so many non nctzens would place it as their best is because it's more βnormal soundingβ. Now not that normal this is Superhuman and random metal sounds are in the chorus but still relatively normal compared the rest of NCT127βs tts. Whatever that means. And it sounds vaguely retro too. And of course to the list of kpoppies who hate NCT127 for their noise music (a meaningless term made up to insult anything in kpop with a bpm above 70 and loud noises as if the second generation we all love wasn't built on that those things) Superhuman can be used as a crudgeol against them. Oh why can't they go back to Superhuman they know how to make good music like Superhuman I liked them better when they made stuff like Superhuman they've really gone downhill la la la la. Then there's the fact that Superhuman is more vocal heavy and some folks have hate boners towards the rap line and especially Taeyong though that's a topic for another day.
And of course I'm not saying that you can't like or dislike any 127 track or that you're doing it for ulterior motives or that liking Superhuman is a dog whistling crime or whatever. Its just that the so called discourse is very annoying.
Iβm a fairly new czennie and I wanted to know how many members there are in NCT 127.
It's been a long-standing fact amongst NCTzens (and some fans from other fandoms are probably aware too) that Winwin got no/very little lines in NCT 127. This naturally leads on for many people to assume that SM didn't want him to be popular/ was trying to 'bury' him in some way. This post is centered specifically on NCT 127's debut song 'Firetruck' (I understand situations were different in following comebacks), but I've seen many comments on multiple platforms saying SM was 'purposefully underutilizing Winwin to sabotage his career' (which is one of the more extreme ones, considering Winwin was an artist from their own company), that they were trying to 'stop Winwin from shining', and obviously 'He should have had more lines', etc. However, I genuinely believe SM wasn't trying to do anything of the sort. They were, at least in Firetruck, trying to utilize Winwin's abilities as an idol as best as they could to gain him more popularity (assuming that, speciffically, if he had a big Chinese fanbase NCT would become increasingly popular in China).
Firstly, this post is not to hate on Winwin. He's always been one of my biases in NCT, and whilst some parts of the post may be blunt, it is not meant to put him down in any way but only to subjectively analyse a situation.
That being said, Firetruck was NCT 127's debut song and was quite anticipated as they were a boy group from SM (who have debuted a few legendary boy groups). I'm pretty sure (as many people have mentioned before) that the only lines Winwin got in Firetruck was 'whoop whoop', which was pretty shitty of SM. However, when I started looking at it from another point of view I could kind of see where they were coming from- bring an idol is a legitimate job, and it's only natural they use the members who can sing/rap better in the song more. (Though only 'whoop whoop' is still a little extreme). Honestly, I think SM did Winwin wrong by debuting him too early when he should have had at least another 1-2 years of training to ready him for a group like NCT 127, more than they did him wrong by giving him no lines in Firetruck.
From an entertainment's company point of view, how were they supposed to give Winwin more lines? He's not a bad rapper/singer (but he would have been way worse at the time of his debut compared to now in WayV) but he was, honestly, not at all up to the standard of the rest of the members in NCT 127. It would have been foolish in SM's eyes to give... what? Any of Taeyong, Mark,
... keep reading on reddit β‘OK, this might be a long one, so fair warning.
I've seen a lot of NCTzens, particularly Dream NCTzens complain about the way SM treats Dream compared to 127 and I completely understand the frustration. Personally I listen to 127 and WayV a lot more than I do Dream, but I completely sympathise with Dream fans.
However I think this is done because 127's future is uncertain. (Please read the rest of this before commenting).
My first reason, military enlistment. 127 has the oldest members and also the most Korean members, meaning that a lot of 127 are going to have to enlist (at least if the rules don't change). This might not be such a big deal if it wasn't for the fact that a lot of 127 core members (the members that have the most lines and are the most important to 127s sound) are going to have to enlist roughly around the same time. For example: Taeil and Taeyong are going to overlap, Taeyong and Doyoung are going to overlap and Doyoung and Jaehyun are going to overlap. Can you imagine a 127 song without Taeil and Taeyong or Taeyong and Doyoung or Doyoung and Jaehyun, yeah exactly.
My second reason, mismanagement and contract renewal. So, most 127 members debuted in 2016, meaning that most of their contract renewal is around 2023. This might not be such a big deal, if I didn't think some members might be more hesitant to renew, in particular Yuta and maybe Johnny. I know most NCTzens complain about WinWin's mismanagement, but honestly since he's been in WayV I think he's a lot happier. Yes, he still gets the least amount of lines, but he stands out more and he also get a lot more outside opportunities in China which could lead to bigger things for him. Compare that to Yuta and Johnny who are still relegated to last place, yes they've been pushed a lot more in recent comebacks but it's still not enough and it might be a little too late. Yuta in particular seems to be quite annoyed with the way he's been managed and the way he's been promoted, and rightfully so, so for all we know he might decide not to renew. I know fans have been talking about a Japanese sub unit, which will have Yuta or even an English sub unit which will have Johnny, but I think fans also need to be open to the possibility that they might not want to debut again. Yes older idols have redebuted in groups like SuperM and GOT, but not ever idol might be open to that. Especially if the Japanese sub unit is Yuta with a bunch of 2000 or later members.
So what does this mean for Dream. D
... keep reading on reddit β‘With the second album Neo Zone, I really did like it, but then the repackage came out and made it even better with the new title track and b-sides, but with the third album Sticker, I honestly thought it was perfect from the get-go. Don't get me wrong though, Favorite is definitely an amazing song, but I really do think Sticker, as an album, is probably the best NCT 127 release to date that isn't a repackage.
