Múm Puns

I love the soft, ethereal sound of stuff like Broadcast, múm, The Books, Cocteau Twins. Think stuff like Tears in the Typic Pool by Broadcast, all of múm's music, The Lemon of Pink I by The Books, Frou-frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires by Cocteau Twins. Do any of you know any other music like that?

I like múm's feeling. I get poor English to describe about this. I love the crisp and naughty sound of their music and the appearance of various instruments. So are there artists like múm?

I see a few on Discogs but they are extremely expensive, hoping to get one for a fair price. This album has grown to be one of my favorites so I would love to add it to the collection. Thanks!

Our short bio: We are Iceland's upcoming Secret Solstice Festival organisers Fred and Leon, and joining us is Örvar Smárason from Icelandic band Múm, one of our major headline acts!

Our long bio: Set for the 20th-22nd of June in Reykjavík, Iceland, Secret Solstice is going to be epic-awesome, mostly because the sun literally won't fully set for the entire 72 hours of the event. Like, seriously. We were just called "the world's most unique music festival" due to the location and concept. Some of our headliners already include Massive Attack, Woodkid, Carl Craig, Skream, Eats Everything, Jackmaster and of course, Icelandic locals Múm, though we have two more lineup announcements coming before June.

We're a brand-new startup festival as well and it's been an insane ride for all of us so far. So if you've ever been interested in the music industry, what it takes to organise an event like this, what's involved in booking major artists, or how many times we've almost pulled all our hair out in frustration, now's your chance to ask!

But now onto someone who actually has talent...

Múm are a freakishly-unique experimental band from Iceland (obviously, Örvar didn't write this part), who have been around since 1997 with seven albums under their belt, including 2013's Smilewound. Múm have been featured everywhere including Rolling Stone, as well as made music with some of music's greats, like Kylie Minogue.

Örvar is one of the founding members of the band, and is also part of a TON of other bands including FM Belfast. We would say his talent knows no bounds, though his modesty does know them.

Throw your questions at us! If you're a fan of Múm, Iceland, the local music scene, any of our headliners, or wanna know more about the astro-witchcraft that's causing the sun not to go down in Iceland for an entire weekend, how to say rude things in Icelandic, the colour of our underpants, when the last time we ate whale was (seriously, it's a thing in Iceland), or anything else like that, we'll answer the best we can. Hi everyone! I‘m learning Icelandic and as supplement to my textbook I like to listen to some Icelandic songs while reading the lyrics. I like this one (Hvernig að særa víni sína by múm) very much but I couldn’t find the lyrics anywhere on the Internet. Unfortunately I’m not good enough yet to figure the lyrics out by myself, so could somebody help me out? Thank you!

I recently started listening to early múm albums, spurred on partially by discovering this live performance of "The Space Between Solar Systems" (even though it features Mr Silla instead of one of the original vocalists).

What else would I like?
