I was wondering if there was a possibility of placing the sync 2 radio screen inside of the 08-10 model 250. I came across a free sync 2 and it would be a great upgrade instead of the aftermarket radio I currently have.

The Italian support just told me that the service is not available for cars registered in Italy (and I guess in all of Europe). Is there any way to download the sync update without going through the website? I have a 2015 Ford Focus.

Got in my 2015 Fusion Energi the other day and the touchscreen panel blanked out as soon as I started the car. It rebooted - showing the Sync logo and then the Ford logo, and I saw what appeared to be a quick flash of a Windows Error box. It immediately rebooted again, same thing. Third time the screen just remained black.

Tried it again a couple hours later, and the MyTouch worked as usual for about 30 seconds, before immediately rebooting into that same loop. Called the dealer and the earliest they can get me in is in 3 goddamn weeks.

Car runs, but obviously no back up camera, no navigation, radio is AM/FM only, no bluetooth, etc, nor can I tell it to charge my car.

I tried the power+skip button to reboot it, no luck. Tried that "delayed reboot" .cab file in the USB port, and during the 30 second grace I have before the thing crashed, I saw that it installed, but then no luck. Didn't try pulling the fuses as it looks like a HUGE pain in the ass to reach and I'm leasing the car and don't want to damage the trim trying to pull apart the lower part of the steering wheel column to reach the fuse (why in the hell are they hidden back there?)

On another thought I figured, well lemme just re-download the MyFord Touch software and reinstall it using the USB stick, but I can't download it from the Ford website anymore - the "Start Download" button is greyed out. I am apparently on SYNC2 v3.7 according to the Ford website but I can't see the touch screen to tell exactly what version I'm on.

Any help or advice on what to do would be appreciated!

I've seen a lot of complaints on the MyFord Touch and I am torn because I am looking at getting an ST within the next few weeks. I've been able to find some NEW 2015 ST3's for around $24,000. The 2016 ST2 I'd be looking at is about $28,000-$29,000. I hear great things about the Sync 3 system. I would love to be able to save up to $5,000 on a one year older car with extra features than what I am looking at in the 2016, but if the MyFord Touch sucks as badly as people make it out to be it might make me a little tentative to pull the trigger on the '15. any suggestions or opinions on the MyFord Touch? I am getting a Nexus 5X in the mail this week, and am curious since I've read different things, if USB-C allows for playing audio over USB through the Sync system. Most of the articles about not being able to play USB audio were from 3 years ago, and I'm not sure if switching from Micro USB to USB-C will make a difference. I've read some articles but some say it works with some tweaks, some say it works if you root, and some say it doesn't work at all due to MTP file structure.

I know I can just use Bluetooth, but I would not have the "Play Artist", "Play Song", etc. Just play, pause, etc.

I currently have an iPhone and I just play all my audio through the USB. Will it work the same way with android or am I going to have to use Bluetooth. Really considering the Note 7.

I think this is not just a blow to us who bought ford vehicles (I have two with MyFord Touch), but also the app developers that spent time/money developing apps that they can never roll out.

Just bought a 2013 Ford Flex Limited. Awesome vehicle, really enjoying it so far. Having a hard time updating Sync... hoping some of the Redditors here can offer some advice.

I have created an account on Sync My Ride. Last confirmed update was Sep 2012 which is the build date of my Flex. Version is listed as SYNC2 v3.2. Website says my version of Sync is up to date, and does not provide any update files available for download. Hard to understand how this could be up to date given it's a 4-year old install.

Do I need to visit the dealer? Would there likely be a charge for this? Is there anywhere I can obtain the update files and do a USB update myself?

I'm in Canada. Not sure if that matters.

Also, I have the A3 navigation SD card, which I plan to update also. Likely with a new card from eBay which appears to be significantly cheaper than Amazon or from Ford. Is A7 the current card?

That dash kit says it is for a 2011 though so it likely wont work.

I have a 2011 F-150 King Ranch and the UI for the MyFord Touch just looks outdated. Is there an update for it where I can get the same version as the one in a 2013+ model? Or is my car too old?

Part 1 – Introduction

It was a warm Monday morning on August 23rd almost a month back, when seemingly for no reason – GOEV shot up from ~$5.9 to ~$8, a 30% gain on the day. The next day – GME popped, for a 30% gain as well, with AMC and BB also making up big gains, leading to the ‘meme mania’ we’ve been experiencing for the last couple of weeks.

Why’d this happen? Well there were no company/industry catalysts. The only event that seemed to occur in the prior week was the expiration of monthly options. One of the theories going around is that there’s an almost quarterly cycle going on at this point where FTD’s are leading to a surge in prices in the next cycle for ‘meme stocks’ which tend to be heavily shorted for the most part. How accurate this is I have no clue and whether this applies to GOEV I don’t know, haven’t investigated that particular theory but there’s plenty of posts/comments floating around for you to look into if you’re so inclined.

The quick point I’m trying to make here is that if a heavily shorted stock is popping 30% in a day, with no major catalyst for the industry or the company in question – and that company is now advancing towards realizing its major milestones with favorable tailwinds expected for the sector, it could pop a lot more than 30% in the months to come. GOEV is among the youngest EV companies - having been around for less than 5 years, with arguably the most unique vehicles coming out (on schedule – seems to be pretty amazing in the EV space) that very few, if any, of the established or other up and coming competitors are producing, and has been shorted more it seems – for the failure of its peers than any real fault of its own.

This is some DD I did for myself. I’m sharing it because you might find some of this interesting. If you don’t like it, there are many other excellent DD to suit your bias. GLHF.

Here, I wanted to return to first principles and look at what the current short position looks like for the Hedgies right now. bc curiosity.

Not all the shorts were created back on Jan 27th, many were certainly, but to understand the current short position on GME we need to consider the price at the time each batch of shorts was created and sold into the market over all the days since Jan 27th. This allows us to determine whether they are are up or down on their total position.

So, I pulled the historical Short Volume Data from Chart Exchange and cross-referenced it with the GME price history from Barchart. The NYSE Short Volume (not to be confused with Short Interest) is the number of trades each day that involve a Short sale. When Short volumes exceed Long Volume you have a net accumulation of Short Interest. (Nekkid Shirts!)

Here are my assumptions for this analysis:

1. My analysis begins on Jan 27th, GME was just about to moon and they turned off the BUY button. Daddy Citadel and Point72 came in to bail Melvin out to prevent the game from being exposed.
2. For purposes of this DD I will ignore any bazillion-share short position they might have had previous to this date and assume Cit/72 opened new shorts at this time, establishing a fresh new short position as of that date.
3. The bad guys have some way to create an effectively unlimited number of naked shorts. By means of Future Swaps, Volatility Swaps or whatever mechanism it is they are using. I don’t know what that mechanism is, please browse other DD’s if you want to go down that rabbit hole, but here shorts are shorts are shorts and I am not focusing on how the magic hat they got pulled out of.
4. The Short Volume of the stock is being generated 99% by the bad guys. This is a battle between Apes and Hedgies but a few day traders might have got burned trying to short GME but the vast majority of the financial pain lies with Cit/72/Melvin.
5. The difference between the Short Volume and Long Volume represents the net number of Short shares created every day. i.e. When Short Volume exceeds Long Volume you have a net increase in Shorts that day. When Long exceeds Short, there is some covering we will assume.
