Moringa Oleifera?

This is widely common, but with all those recent supplement-company acquisitions... Not sure if I trust anyone other than ND these days.

Any chance of releasing a top-quality Moringa leaf supplement in the near future? (or maybe a potent extract/different parts?)

Moringa can be used as a natural multivitamin.

Reversing Cirrhosis - Moringa Oleifera

Moringa Oleifera

So, I was goofing around one day and I came across a nutritional/medicinal supplement I had never heard of called moringa oleifera. During my period of battling liver disease, I found that I was always deficient in vitamins and minerals and through my research, I’ve come to learn how very important good food is to health and healing. Not surprisingly, I not only eat a low carb, high fat diet, but am constantly looking at ways to boost my nutrition.

Moringa oleifera is a nutritional superstar. It contains all of the essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals, carotenoids, zeatin, quercetin, beta-sitosterol, caffeoylquinic acid, and kaempferol.

Moringa oleifera is also very important for its medicinal value. It acts as a cardiac and circulatory stimulant, possesses antitumor, antipyretic, antiepileptic, anti-inflammatory, antiulcer, antispasmodic, diuretic, antihypertensive, cholesterol lowering, antioxidant, antidiabetic, hepatoprotective, antibacterial and antifungal properties.

I’ve included some links from the National Institute of Health pubmed database so you can read about moringa in more detail.

It’s a relatively inexpensive supplement and could serve as an excellent adjunct to your diet as you heal your liver.

Malunggay (moringa oleifera)

As a dad of an EBF 18 month old, I feel like malunggay (moringa oleifera) isn't getting that much love and attention here on this sub.

I've seen fenugreek here quite a lot but also the accompanying gassy babies from time to time due to it.

I've seen a lot of posts here asking about how moringa is and most of them remain unanswered. So now, let's talk about it and see how wonderful this plant is.

I'm from the Philippines and moringa is know locally as malunggay. The plant is ubiquitous in both rural and urban areas of the country. No sane person would buy raw moringa on the market since you could just harvest or forage it anywhere even if it's on someone's property.

In Filipino cuisine, moringa is usually found in chicken stews (tinolang manok) or in mung bean stews (ginisang munggo) that are usually served on Friday nights (that's another topic for discussion that doesn't fit this sub). Moringa is usually incorporated in clear broth dishes and stews here. It's even turned into pesto if you're fancy enough.

But what we're here for is how it's good for breastfeeding. Aside from the plant's high nutritional value, it's great for boosting the milk supply.

OBs, pedias, lactation nurses, and even regular nurses always recommend malunggay to pregnant and breastfeeding moms here in the Philippines. It's best if you could harvest and cook it. Supplements in capsule form are great as well.

As for my wife, she takes her moringa in capsule form because let's not kid ourselves, who has time to cook when you have a toddler these days? Her favorite dishes with malunggay are mung bean stew, and pork and white corn stew. She'd sometimes complain of having sore breasts shortly after those meals because of milk oversupply and our toddler won't boob yet because grandparents gave him a lot of snacks.

All in all, 11/10. Highly recommended.

I understand that most of the people here are not tropical jungle Asians and have no access to a malunggay plant. Please check the labels if you're buying moringa supplements. And make sure to get it from a reputable place.

That is all and thank you for coming to my TED talk.

My Moringa Oleifera trees have been sick for months. The leaves develop small white spots and sometimes tiny black specks, then eventually die and fall off. I thought it could be thripes, as I've noticed some on the leaves before, but even with regular washing/removal, the problem persists. reddit.com/gallery/ig7650

The best prepper tree: Moringa oleifera

Nicknamed "The Tree of Life" Moringa oleifera is a tree that you can solely survive from (nutrient wise, not by calories day to day growing). Every part of the plant is edible, all essential amino acids that humans require to survive, most nutrient dense fruit in the world including protein and calcium, used to cure medical issues, purify water with its seeds (https://naturalsociety.com/moringa-oleifera-tree-purify-water/), grows quickly, dryable leaves to store.

Seeds cost $7 for 100 on amazon, just grabbed myself a bag and plan on growing a lot inside and plan on farming it to store vacuum dried powder (plus I love plants). Produces radish-like edible roots, you can eat the leaves, eat the stem except the fiberous center and eat the seeds and seed pods.

The tree needs ample warmth and sun, will die if the roots are lower than 0Β°C. You can trim it to grow at a manageable size indoors (3-5ft).

Thought I'd share this with the community as I just found out about this tree and it's my new favorite tree! 😁
