I spoke to my mother today and asked her how she would react if I committed suicide. She said she'd join me. At first she said we should do it tomorrow. Then I told her I wanted to make one final effort to express myself to the world--that I wanted to try to pull off a "real life John Doe". I said I wanted a week or ten days, but that after that, no matter what happened, we'd do it together. I've been writing for a while, but no one's been reading. Maybe my death will make someone read my words. Here is the latest entry to my (anonymous) blog. I was full of rage and hatred when I wrote it, so it might not inspire much compassion in anyone. Now I'm just exhausted and all that's left is the pain. I'll be writing every day for the next week or so until the end. So far, I haven't received a single email. A response or two might make my death feel a bit more meaningful. Thanks.
EDIT: I've decided not to do it for the time being. I don't even know why. One thing that keeps going through my head is a quote from Samuel Beckett: "You must go on, I can't go on, I'll go on."
I'll up my anti-depressants, start exercising again, and try to keep busy. Hopefully, in time, I will learn to tolerate the sense of absolute alienation from the rest of the human race.
In the meantime I will keep writing. My dream is to start a movement. I believe I have understood certain things that could redeem humanity. If I'm right, if my words spread, I will undoubtedly be killed like everyone else who ever spoke for love and freedom. I would rather be a martyr than simply run away from the pain.

So I'm in the middle of Season 2, I just finished episode 3 and I dont want any spoilers but from what I know there's one scene in a carnival that will be the tipping point on whether or not John goes to villain joker or vigilante joker. I really want joker to be the villain in the end but I also really want to support John because I feel so bad when I let him down about anything like refusing a high five or something. So I'm completely torn, I really like John and I want to be friends with him but I want him to be the villain in the end. I know I could just do a second playthrough going down whatever path I didnt choose originally but I dont know what to do
So my last name is Doe. It hasn't affected my life much apart from occasionally being called "Dodo" while growing up or friends spelling it "D'Oh" as a joke, and I'm generally pretty neutral about it.
My wife is six months pregnant and wants to name our future son after her grandfather, who died of cancer in September. His name was John.
I liked her grandfather, and I know he and my wife were very close, but I won't even consider it, not even for our son's middle name. I feel that's just setting him up a world of problems, especially when he grows up and has to apply for jobs. Nobody's going to believe "John Doe" is his real name.
My wife thinks I'm being an asshole for vetoing a name with a strong family connection and says I'm exaggerating the issues he would face. AITA?
Hello everyone, I've unsubbed to this subreddit because it was bad for my wallet(this post may be illuminating). This is a review of a pair of shoes I got from John Doe Shoes and I'm giving them away.
These are John Doe Shoes. The modeled is Galdi in Russet Horsehide. The size is 11E and the following customizations were asked for in the MTO process:
- Remove the leather patch
- Goodyear Welt
- Vibram Half Soles
- Original Last
I'll try to condense my thoughts on this pair. I placed a 3x2 MTO order at the end of January and the shoes came in at different times. I was scrolling the sub and in my mind, the possibility of having all these unique leathers and styles and made to my specifications got the best of me. I knew the company was very hit or miss, but I think I saw it was trending upwards. Therefore, I decided to go in. I ordered 3 pairs and I'll cover these by themselves and if people would like a review of the others, I'll put one up. Of the three, I'm most disappointed by these. The other two are acceptable(I'll get into those points briefly later) and I like them enough to keep them. For reference, I got Chelseas in the milo last and Starks in the original last, all three in the same 11E.

FIT
For reference, I am an 11E Brannock and JDS told me their shoes fit TTS regardless of last.
The Chelseas fit slightly tight, but I think that's the result of the last. The length fits well and the height is fine. The Starks and the Galdis fit a bit large. For the Stark's, it's fine because you have the lacing lockdown. For the Galdi's, it's not as fine. My heal constantly would lift up over the shoe which sucks. I'm not too certain that me choosing to remove the leather patch would have made a difference in fit, but I think it's a consequence of the style having not as secure of a lockdown as laces. It's one of the largest reasons for me giving these away. Width wise, these are good.
If my post serves as advice for future John Doe Shoes orders, if you order the milo last, order a half size up. If you order the original last, order a half size down though it can work if there is lace lockdown or if they're boots.

At the very least, JDS isn't messing around with their leathers. This Russet Horsehide is the real deal. It's stiff as hell. It's thick as hell. The line/dent in the front of the right shoes is my fault so don't knock JDS on that. The color is a bit off from the online pic

I think shipping, fit, and customer service have already been well covered in the last post so I'm not going to redo that. Instead, I'm going to go over what I like about each. Just know that each have a couple wears so these aren't from new.

Chelseas
Since these were the free pairs, I wasn't actually expecting them to be my favorite since I just needed a pair that I could get for free. I figured that I've never owned Chelseas before so I decided to get a pair. I never had any because when I thought of Chelsea boots, I was always thinking of guys with skinny jeans, chelsea boots, and a flannel, but I've been looking into R.M Williams boots and figured they're actually a really nice style.
I wanted to create a pair that was pretty casual, goes with many outfits, and looks sleek. I went pretty safe with the brown calf and I think it goes well with almost anything. The Milo last is the sleeker of the lasts and I think it works well on a Chelsea boot. I also just think that Vibram is the bar for outsoles so I chose those.
Going into the scuffs and details, I think I made out pretty well on this pair. I think if you order from JDS, you are not expecting perfection and that's totally ok for the price. The defining scuff is a distinct scratch on the toes of each boot, which I find really odd. Other than that, I think the pairs are pretty good. The stitching is well done and the butt looks even. I think maybe the stitching that connects the back pull tab to the boots is slightly wonky between
... keep reading on reddit ➡Two men were walking through the woods in Bear Creek Township, Pennsylvania looking for a fishing hole when they stumbled upon a decomposing body of a young man near the botom of an embankment along the Bear Creek-White Haven Road 3 miles from Route 115 on May 28, 1979.
The victim is described as a Caucasian man estimated to be 5'10" (likely in the 5'8" - 6'0" range) and 180 lbs with brown hair. Due to decomposition his eye color could not be determined. His age was originally thought to be 25-40, however during September of 2016 exhumation it was lowered to 17-22 (though DoeNetwork lists it as low as 15 years old). His fingernails and toenails were well manicured.
His cause of death was a gunshot to the chest and it is estimated the post-mortem interval is 10-14 days.
He was found fully clothed, except for one shoe which is believed to have fallen off when he was thrown from down the road down the embankment. He wore a black long-sleeved shirt, tan trousers with white pinstripes, white underwear (possibly "Derby" brand), a pair of black socks over a pair of white socks and black loafers. He was also found wearing sterling silver bracelet with “Vedon” on its clasp, 14 karat gold ring with a serpent design on his right little finger. It is believed the jewelry was made in New York. Pictures of his clothes are available, but there are no pictures of the jewelry.
His dentals and DNA are available.

I was browsing the FBI website and noticed an update to the case of the Saguache county John Doe. I had read about this case before and was surprised to see a new reconstruction.
John Doe was found on October 19, 2002 in a very remote area of Sauguache County, Colorado in the eastern area of Rio Grande National Forest. I have the NAMUS coordinates link at the bottom. The location is off a dirt road in the middle of nowhere, so it seems like an ideal place to dump a body. John Doe was found deceased wrapped in a quilt and black plastic. The cause of death was determined to be homicide by 2 gunshot wounds to the head. He was also wearing "A black "Harley Davidson" logo T-shirt with the inscription "Fort Washington Maryland" and a pair of black jockey shorts". It's believed to asleep at the time of the murder. Doe Network also states that there was a Hell's Angels rally held in Gunnison, CO not long before the discovery, but any connection is unconfirmed.
Hopefully the FBI thinks this is very solvable since there's an increased focus. Information available seems to be fairly vauge. NAMUS/Doe give the age range as 30-40 while FBI and recent articles are saying 40-60. What appears to be the original sketch (on NAMUS/doe) seems to fit the younger range though it's poor quality. A couple of other reconstructions (the most recent up until this year I believe) have the man appearing to be closer to 60. Now, he appears much younger in the newest reconstruction.
I also couldn't find any info of the date of the rally (not long before so is that weeks or months before?). Gunnision is a 1 hr 38 min drive from where the body was found. Either way, I think it seems likely that the killer traveled quite a distance to dispose of the body. The asleep detail is also interesting. Was he at home? in a vehicle? homeless on some sidewalk? I hope that the Saguache County John Doe can get his name back soon. Feel free to comment any thoughts.

Around 8:15 pm on July 19th 1992 two unidentified hispanic teenagers were shot at the corner of Vernon Avenue and Compton Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Neither boy had any identification and no one has ever come forward to identify or claim the remains, the murder remains unsolved. Both boys were presumed to be illegal immigrants, but the local neighborhood did not come forward with any information at all. They were both recognized but strangely no one knew either boys name.
The bus driver confirmed that they had been passengers but could only recall that they paid in cash and that they were not regulars on his route.
Both boy's were found to be in good health with no signs of major abuse or malnutrition. They had no gang affiliated tattoos or clothing identifying any particular region that they could be identified or tied to. No wallets, or receipts were found in either boys pockets aside from some small change neither had any money.
There is a possibility that the shooting was part of a gang initiation. Both boys were shot with a small caliber handgun. The older boy was killed instantly. The younger of the two lingered until the 20th he regained consciousness briefly but was unable to communicate due to intubation and he died from his injuries shortly after.

The remains were cremated and DNA science was in its infancy in the early 90's and DNA collection was not the norm. Dental records and fingerprints are available with the LA County Coroner's Office.

The shooters vehicle was a large navy blue car with a white top.
The bus route the boys were waiting for was servicing the Los Angeles 105 route. The 105 bus (Direction: Vernon - Santa Fe) has 83 stops departing from Division 7 Layover and ending in Vernon Yard.

20 year old Martin Christopher Austin was last seen at home by his mother at 8:00 a.m. on March 15th 1974. Later the same day he picked up his paycheck at Solano Community College in Fairfield, CA but failed to report for work there the next day. Mr. Austin's vehicle was found abandoned in the parking lot of Linda Mar Shopping Center in Pacifica, CA on March 17th 1974.
