Suggestions for airsoft noob medical students trying to make their medical simulation more interesting :)

Hey guys!

I really hope this is an okay post, I did my best to read all the wiki, FAQ and search stuff on here and didn't find anything quite like this. It will also probably be quite long, but I would really appreciate your help :)

So basically here's the situation: I'm in charge of a medical student project in Europe that trains all kinds of people in first aid and CPR and helps to raise awareness about it as well, so as part of that we try to do at least one large scale simulation every year. While these are always quite fun and a good success, I have always felt they lack the sense of urgency and pressure one would feel when working on a real trauma. That means we aren't prepared properly, because working under pressure is a lot different than when you are calm.

So this year I'm designing a simulation where there would be an airsoft component to hopefully generate that kind of pressure (I must emphasize- the point is not in making a milsim, rather to create that kind of environment where you get a bit more stressed and things feel urgent and like there's more at stake). We will start out with only 5 people (myself included, but I will explain in a bit) and if it turns out okay, the hope is to do a large scale version with more medical students and also our colleagues from the hospital, firefighters etc. like we do with the non airsoft versions.

The plan for now is to plant a few victims in a location and provide vague information about where they are, kind of a "victim treasure hunt", so that the team has to move around a bit and try hard to get to the victim, while also having a time limit, something like- the victim is actively bleeding out and they have to get there quick or the victim will be a lot harder to save. While this is happening, they would have to fend off an enemy airsoft team of non medics and fight back themselves- I'm somewhat ambitiously hoping this will get them hyped up and make them work together. This team obviously needs an objective of their own or some kind of modified rules so that it's not just my medic team getting shot at for 3 hours straight. Since I am kind of the game master, I don't think it would work well for me to be on the medic team, therefore I will be moving with the enemy, but probably mainly observing how well the medicine part is being executed once they get to the victim and keeping track of how everything is going for future reference. The area where the victim is would be considered a safe zone where s

πŸ’ŠNeonious BiotechπŸ’Š$MDSIM πŸ’ŠPre-ICO πŸ’ŠHelp us to build the largest network of computers running molecular dynamics simulations, rivaling expensive supercomputers built for medical research.

Hello everyone!

Neonious Biotech is introducing the Neonious Token (MDSIM) which is intended to incentivise large numbers of people to form the Neonious Network, a group of computers which will perform the molecular dynamics simulations, by distributing newly generated MDSIMs among these people based on the computing power they provide to the cause. With the molecular dynamics simulations, Neonious Biotech will power Alzheimer and dementia research. For the MDSIM to become the incentive we intend it to be, all which must be achieved is that we build a community which buys and trades MDSIMs, thus attaching a value to a MDSIM. As the success of this project can improve the lives of many people who are suffering from dementia and their families, we believe that MDSIM will join the rank of the most important tokens and cryptocurrencies.

Our Pre-ICO is live and anyone can invest in our tokens. Every 250.000 tokens bought the price rises by 0.01$. Currently, the price already rose from 0.1$ to 0.12$.

Roadmap:

24/05/2021 Neonious Tokens can be ordered at the Neonious Biotech website. The earlier they are ordered, the cheaper the tokens are.

01/07/2021 Extensively tested Neonious MD software available on GitHub (source code) and for download (Windows, macOS and Linux). May be used on testing network to generate new testing tokens.

01/09/2021 Neonious Biotech will enable trading of Neonious Tokens for anyone on Uniswap by setting up an adequate liquidity pool.

01/10/2021 Neonious MD software and mining contract pass security audit.

31/10/2021 Neonious Token sale ends. Neonious Biotech enables new token generation on the main network. The Neonious Network is live.

01/11/2021 Neonious Biotech will start helping people set up their systems with the Neonious MD software to scale the Neonious Network.

01/01/2022 Start of actual molecular dynamic simulations targeting dementia

Are you satisfied with your work in medical simulation?

How would you rate your job satisfaction, and would you recommend this job to someone like me? I like getting the gritty truth more than the candy-coated version.

I've just discovered this field today by chance, and it seems like something I could really enjoy and excel at. My background is in corporate AV (mixing boards, microphones, projectors, etc), and I've always enjoyed troubleshooting technology and training others (or assisting with training). I use audio recording software in my spare time, and I'm sure I could learn basic video production quickly.

I have a general AA degree, which seems like it might help in this field even though it's not specific to medicine. I also used to watch Discovery Health a lot as a kid because I found the surgeries really interesting. Not squeamish at all. I would be open to pursuing an EMT cert to further my credentials.
