A list of puns related to "Mechanically powered flashlight"
I'm on a team at Colorado School of Mines, and we're redesigning the mechanical flashlight for a Senior Design project. Any opinions you might have would be greatly appreciated. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1-GkWxgbOLYqMqh1P8uo3sKAlpYZJYsED3E-CN_LZg3g/viewform?usp=send_form
Thank you greatly.
I used to have a couple mechanically powered flashlights as a kid but they all had plastic gears inside and if u over pressured it during the recharge process they will either break or malfunction being useless.
Im looking for some good well made products maybe steel gears and water proof enclosure so they will last for many years and hold up under nonideal conditions for a collapse/survival scenario.
Also called the Wardenclyffe Towers AKA Pyramids of Egypt AKA Tesla Tower.
Now we can power moon colonies and advance space colonization.
EDIT: I think I'm going to go with the Skilhunt M200 and I'll print a cradle around the big magnetic connector. Thanks, grzybek337!
Price Range: 50 - 100 CAD
Purpose: Primary use is your usual "I'm in the house and need a flashlight for a thing" type deal, secondary is for power outages. Maaaaaaybe EDC.
Battery Type & Quantity: 1x 18650, 2x if it's like the Nitecore EC4 with the batteries arranged parallel to each other instead of end to end. 18650s very very much preferred because the GF and I want that to be our standard rechargeable battery type for projects and whatnot.
Size: Pocketable-ish, backpackable. Pocket clip is a bonus.
Type: Handheld, although having a lantern mode is a bonus.
Main Use: This probably won't be carried in an EDC sense, just left in the cradle on the workdesk pegboard and grabbed whenever needed, plus power outage uses. Being brighter than a phone flashbulb is useful. The cradle does not have to be wall mountable, since I can just 3d print a pegboard cradle for the cradle.
Switch Type: No switch preference. Simple UI with not a lot of blind menu diving is a bonus.
Anything Else?: There is the Ledlenser P7R but it's a bit too expensive at the moment, since I want to buy at least two. Everything else on Parametrek is discontinued lol.
Thanks, folks.
Just thought it'd be interesting to see how well a flashlight would work on this: https://old.reddit.com/r/oddlyterrifying/comments/rvzr9e/the_black_crack_a_65footdeep_fissure_along_a/
Maybe there's a few skeletons down there.
Can someone recommend a flashlight that can be used to charge a g shock? Ideally this means it stays relatively cool and safe for the watch while providing enough lumens and can stand up so you can balance the watch on top face first
I also prefer a light that's on the smaller side and uses standard rechargeable AA AAAs
The brightest warm white flashlight I have is a D4SV2, which is around 3000 lm with the 2700K SST20. I'd like something brighter. Ideally much brighter.
The Emisar D18 is the obvious next step up but is there anything brighter than that or with more throw whilst still being available in 2700K or 3000K (or maybe 3500K)?
The ideal would be something to rival the Imalent R60C, which is 18,000 lumens and 1038m throw - considerably more than a D18. I accept that warmer LEDs are less efficient and limit options but feel like there should be some better options.
Some things I've been wondering about:
Thanks!
Price Range: <$100.
Purpose: Everything, nothing in particular.
Battery Type & Quantity: So this is the biggest preference: must be single 18650 and have a built in usb c charging port that can do ucbc-usbc charging.
Size: smaller the better
Type: handheld
Main Use: A little bit of everything
Switch Type: Doesnt matter.
NOTES I was about to pull the trigger on the Wurkkos fc11 because it fit almost everything I was looking until I found out that it cant charge via usb c -c
Let's say I've got my LT1 on for some late-night studying; should I just run the light on battery power, or is it safe to plug it into a usb-c charger? Will it affect the life of the cells?
I have several backup light sources, but would like to add something that doesnβt rely on batteries or solar. Does anyone have any recommendations for handcrank or hand powered flashlights that are reliable and wonβt break in 5 seconds???
ITRS Installation Experts take care of everything, including installation of infinite roll system, dispenser, and the elaborately complicated feed of TP that will run the walls of your home and attach to a novelty size Mega-Roll-Unit on the side of of house.
If you live in an apartment building, there's an entire unoccupied open floor in the building that has a giant mothership spindle of toilet paper that's the entire circumference of the floor that feeds every apartment in the building.
Hello! I hope this is the right place to ask, but recently I've been feverishly searching high and low across the internet and magazines for a high-quality dynamo flashlight but the only ones I can find are cheapo plastic ones.
The type of flashlight I'm talking about is the kind you squeeze a lever that turns a ratcheting gear to spin a magnet to generate power. I'm shocked to not come across "tactical" or "heavy duty" versions.
Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for a flashlight like that or similar? I'd settle on a crank flashlight too at this point. Some qualities I'd like the light to have are:
Purely a flashlight. Not a combo radio/battery bank/noisemaker or anything.
Durable construction. I know my clumsy self will definitely drop it on a rock or something.
Simple on/off. Hi/Lo/off is acceptable too. But no sos or strobe. I one had a light that took 6 clicks to turn off and if you click too fast you get turbo (which took another 3 clicks to turn off... ugh)
Thank you! I hope I dont come off as a choosy beggar!
I'm in East Texas and need to spot black cattle at night and in the shade from a distance. It would be best to have a 200-yard range with a good amount of spill. Being able to spot predators and feral hogs would be secondary but, also primary desirements.
I find the Maglite C-cells bodies to be a great diameter for myself and they fit my hand well. I'm pretty flexible on head size but, I don't want a 2-liter pop-bottle size head either. I can use 18650 batteries but, for this use prefer the 21700 size and capacity. I prefer a single cell but, would consider two cell options. 3's and 4's will be a hard sell. ;)
I'm thinking about a cool white (bluish) tint but, I am flexible with colors as well. I'd like to stay in the ~$100USD range but, I have some flexibility if there is a good reason to spend more. Obviously, I would be happy with a cheaper light if it meets the requirements. I have a Fenix E35 V3.0 Flashlight but, it lacks heat dissipation so it gets too hot too fast for the length of time I need to use it.
Thanks, Sid
Price Range: $1-$150
Purpose: Anytime I'm working on cars, in the dark to light up a good sized area in an engine bay or during the day when to see into tight areas (Ex. spark plug wells). And probably for edc too.
Battery Type & Quantity: It doesn't matter too much as long as its USB rechargeable, if it makes a difference 18650.
Size: Smaller would be best ~pen sized~ roughly. If its a little bigger than that its fine.
Type: Handheld 100%
Main Use: Well its gonna be used around cars a lot, Something durable that can handle some drops here and there and exposure to oils and chemicals. A flashlight that I intend to use for a very long time
Switch Type: It doesn't matter to me really.
Anything Else?: Hope yall can help! Looking at all the different options it seems dizzying as there's a lot of options. Stream lights seem good but I just want to see if there's any recommendations you guys have.
