The Maruti 800 took the indian market by storm as the primary commuter vehicle for uncountable families all over India in the 1990's. It comes with a stock 796 cc engine which produces a torque of more than 59Nm @ 2500 rpm which was better than the entire market available in India at that time. There can be seen a striking similarity between this engine and classic commuter JDM's as there was a partnership between Maruti and Suzuki collectively known as MarutiSuzuki in India.
