MC Jin was maybe the first Asian rapper to sign with a major label like Ruff Ryders.
For those of you around at the time, this was a big big BIG deal to Asians since, before this, no Asian was taken seriously in the rap category.

I canβt find the video but there was one where he announced he signed with them on 106th and Park and had the chain.
If you watch all the battles, you can see his opponents go for digs at his race. A lot of them pre written, where one guy even had props.
But you can see that the judges, hosts, and most of the audience were all rooting for Jin.

In this video, you can hear Jin reflect on when he was 16, way before 106th and park, he drove up to the RR compound, and started free styling at the gate while they were hooping and lifting weights outside. They opened the gates for him, and encouraged him to keep going.
Thatβs not only courageous of Jin, but it just shows the culture and the people behind Ruff Ryders (e.g. DMX).
It is just really entertaining to see a character who has a good heart/noble spirit try his best to be a good leader. And then watch the author throw everything at him in an attempt to break him/force him to do evil things to survive/get all of his friends killed.
He also has a clear heart and understands/is at peace with himself in a similar way to FY. Accept his goal is to bring his family to greatness instead of immortality while upholding his moral code. Of course, with any other author this MC would be boring but Gu Zhen Ren is really good at throwing the MC into dangerous/desperate situations where he is really tested.
