The ability to change both super sampling and refresh rate while in game quickly makes tweaking performance so much easier than it used to be, and it is so much more worth it to switch refresh rates between different games. In Pavlov when a custom map loads that is inefficient dropping down to a lower refresh rate at the start takes a few seconds instead of just keeping it low all the time to avoid that.
For those who have not tried this yet or can't get it working, you'll need Steam VR beta and the latest nVidia drivers (It actually froze my computer without the drivers being updated). You'll love your Index more being able to squeeze the best performance out of it on demand.
FPSVR is on sale as well, which is an excellent way to check your actual performance/frame-rate while in game.
I think these controllers will convince developers to provide an option to play with analog, touch or a combination of both.
Both these controllers have an analog stick and a touch pad.
Games usually support both the Vive and the Rift but only for each specific controller. Windows controllers usually defaulting to the Vive controls. Games that officially support windows mixed reality usually provide control using the analog and touch such as Steam VR home, Rec Room, Serious Sam 1,2,3 and Talos Principle.
I am wondering if games will now be offering the option to use both the analog and the touch pad or a choice between the two now that Valve index controllers are getting attention ignoring the Finger movement and 2 extra Buttons.
I would like to be able to move around in pavlov with the analog stick instead of the trackpad. An ingame option to use both would beat messing around with profile control options or looking for community options that match your own preferences.

Probably not of much interest to most Komodos but an interesting snapshot of Indonesia (Jakarta) nonetheless. Indonesia second biggest loss in international rankings, dropping down to 52nd out of 67 countries surveyed. Report cites cost of living (up 10 places), lack of job and career prospects and increasing lack of βgeneral friendlinessβ among Indonesians.
This from the report.
Indonesia: An Ongoing Decline Indonesia is down 20 spots this year, coming in a disappointing 52nd out of 67 countries. In fact, the country has lost ground each year, ranking in the top third at 20th out of 61 countries in 2014 before falling to 32nd place out of 64 countries in the 2015 survey. The country has worsened across the board, with the biggest losses in the Working Abroad Index (37th to 47th place) and the Cost of Living Index (10th to 20th place). Whereas over three-quarters of survey respondents (77%) were overall satisfied with the cost of living in 2015, only 64% feel the same this year. For the Working Abroad Index, the percentage with a positive opinion about their career prospects, for instance, has dipped below half (49%), compared to 58% last year. This contributed to Indonesiaβs fall from 21st to 43rd place in the Job & Career subcategory of this index in 2016. Indonesia used to rank in the top ten of the Friendliness subcategory of the Ease of Settling In Index (fifth in 2015 and seventh in 2014). This year, however, the country is down to 18th place. In 2015, well over half (55%) said the general friendliness of the local population was very good. This percentage is down at 44% in 2016.
