A list of puns related to "Joanna"
Hey B, riiiill quick. If we wanted to see iiiiiiivery post she makes, mayb'e we'd subscribe to her instafeed.
Joanna was the third child of Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon, the medieval Spanish monarchs of Inquisition fame, whose union had united the separate Spanish kingdoms of Castile and Aragon to form a dynastically unified Spain. Her siblings included two future queens of Portugal, as well as Catherine of Aragon, the future queen of England.
Raised in one of the most powerful families in Europe, Joanna was brought up to become an ideal future bride, as her title as princess meant she could be used to expand the power and influence of her family's kingdom. Like any other high-ranking medieval lady, she would have had a working knowledge of singing, dancing, languages, history, spelling and grammar, civil and canon law, hawking, riding, mathematics, philosophy, and needlework.
By around the age of fifteen, Joanna began to rebel against the strict Catholic doctrine her mother raised her with, refusing to attend confession and expressing 'heretical' views around Catholic rites and prayer. This expression was met with harsh punishment from her mother, whose devotion to the Catholic religion and hatred of heretics did lead to the execution of thousands of people. Mosen Luis Feffer, one of her father's chamber-men, wrote that Joanna had been punished for this behavior via "la cuerda", or 'the rope', where she had been suspended from the floor via a rope, with weights attached to her feet.
At sixteen she was betrothed to Philip of Flanders in an alliance set to strengthen the bond of Joanna's TrastΓ‘mara and Philip's Habsburg families. Joanna left Spain to meet her husband in 1496 and the two were married later that year in what is now modern-day Brussels. Their union would produce six children, all of whom who grow up to be emperors or queens. Their relationship was one that waxed hot and cold, with the couple feuding over Phillip's infidelities and Joanna's jealous attempted to keep him from other women.
Joanna's political fortunes changed with the deaths of her two older siblings and their children, which made Joanna the heir to her parent's kingdom. In 1502, Joanna was legally recognized as the heiress of the Castilian throne and named Princess of Asturias. When her mother died in 1504, Joanna became queen regent of Castile. This resulted in Ferdinand, her father, losing his monarchial rights to C

First time watching, I don't know why they cast Joanna. Yes she's pretty, but there's little else going on there. The way both sisters stomp and sulk and cry over anything is embarrassing.
So I'm on Peacock watching Real Housewives of Miami from the beginning to remind myself of stuff and try to get to the new season and . . . Joanna Kruppa is lucky she didn't get more handed to her. Adrianna may not be a good person ( I'd wager Joanna is worse but y'know ) but oof I honestly wished no one got in the middle.
I think Joanna needs a wake-up call if she hasn't had one on how she talks to people and how to handle situations. You don't jump in that way into someone else's confrontation and assert yourself that way . . . and also more importantly you don't follow someone who is SO ANGRY AND FRUSTRATED that they are walking away because they know they're going to explode if they don't get out of there.
Adrianna did the right thing trying to get away and Joanna came after her KNOWING she pushed Adrianna's buttons past their limit . . . she deserved everything that came to her and then some.
Iβm working on a fanfic where Elia lives and so Iβm researching the minimal information about the Martells prior to the ASoiaF time period. Hereβs one of the few references to Eliaβs mother, the Princess of Dorne (hereafter PoD, thanks GRRM for not bothering to give her a name ππ‘) βββββββββββββββββββββββ
STORM OF SWORDS, TYRION X
"Lannisport was the end of our voyage," Prince Oberyn went on, as Ser Arron Qorgyle helped him into a padded leather tunic and began lacing it up the back. "Were you aware that our mothers knew each other of old?"
"They had been at court together as girls, I seem to recall. Companions to Princess Rhaella?"
"Just soβ¦β βββββββββββββββββββββββ
According to the Wiki, this time period would be between 259 when Joanna Lannister arrived at court and 263 when she wed Tywin.
Hereβs where things get weird.
248: Doran born; indicates PoD must be at least past puberty (ew, GRRM, stop with the 13 year olds getting pregnant; poor Rhaella)
Two sons who died in infancy; multiple miscarriages
256: Elia born
257: Oberyn born
So, PoD had at least seven pregnancies in 10 years. Then, instead of ruling Dorne, or raising her kids at home, she went to serve Rhaella. At this time Elia was 3 and Oberyn was 2; they either went to court with PoD or remained in Dorne with their (also unnamed) father and 11 year old Doran.
This seems rather odd, and likely reflects GRRMβs math difficulties. It makes slightly more sense if PoDβs own mother or father was still ruling Dorne at the time.
At the very youngest, PoD would be 24 in 259; if she waited to have Doran after she was 20, she would be 31 or older.
Rhaella was born in 245-246, making her 13-14 in 259 when she wed Aerys. Ew.
Joanna was born between 244-252 according to the wiki. The latest date would make her a lady in waiting at age 7 and married at age 11; the earliest date would make her a lady in waiting at age 15 and married at 19, which is far more plausible.
So, in 259, Rhaella was 13-14 (and had just had baby Rhaegar), Joanna was around 15, and PoD was 24-31. Joanna and PoD would not have been βat court together as girls.β If anything, PoD would have had an elder sister or motherly influence on Joanna and Rhaella.
In an old So Spake Martin GRRM acknowledged that ladies in waiting could vary in age, but the timing still seems really weird. Any theories on how to make it all make sense?
I did everything I could to bring out every last detail that I could in this photo. I hope I've done her justice. I really do feel for this girl. I hope she wound up in a safe place and was able to live out her best life, but I just have the worst feeling about the whole thing, honestly.

I am on S3 ep 12 RHOM, love the ladies and the wedding drama! But very sad to see how Joanna treats the other HWs, Romain, and her sister. She really seems to embody the beautiful outside/ugly inside tropeβ¦I canβt believe how she shames Romain about sex (men just want the hole, heβs the girl in the relationship, never had this issue with other guys, etc). What a rudimentary way to approach intimacy, her attitude on sex seems to be βyou do all the work, I just have to be hotβ and thatβs it. Totally missing the emotional connection and calm home life he says heβs missing lol.
Back in S2 the scene where she finds out heβs cheating but decides to make him dinner (also, LOL what) and is straight up screaming at poor Marta, who is only trying to help her. Imo J has the worst anger issues of the cast, she is always having a diva meltdown about something, but it was hard to watch her take it out on her sister so oftenβ¦glad that Marta realized she needed to move out and get out of that dynamic for her own sake.
Onto the infamous Lingerie Party fightβ¦she aggressively followed Adrianna after A tried to walk away, continuing to scream at her, imo it does appear she grabbed Aβs hair or back, so while that whole fight was a mess, I donβt think itβs right to put all the blame on A for throwing hands. Romain was so fed up with Jβs anger that night he literally leftβ¦.
tl:dr I think Joanna has serious anger issues, very immature and reactive, I love the drama in RHOM but glad sheβs not on S4.
I don't see this track get mentioned on websites that rank Joanna's best songs and I'm not sure why. It's easily one of her most unique, catchy and exciting songs; I can't think of any other song in her discography that sounds like it from a compositional standpoint. Given that it was released on an EP, I think it too often gets overlooked.
There are times I wish the song was included on Disc 2 of HOOM, maybe then it would've gotten the acknowledgement that it deserves. I genuinely think that 'Colleen' can hold a candle to songs like 'Good Intentions', 'Cosmia' or 'Sapokanikan'; it's that good.
Rewatching season 2 of Miami. I am fast forwarding a lot of Joanna's solo scenes. She gives me really toxic vibes that I forgot about the first time around. What do you guys think?
Since itβs such a blurry low quality photo weβll never know if any Jane Doe could be her. I think this case will honestly just stay cold because of a huge lack of information. This whole mystery is just an endless rabbit hole. Any black or Hispanic girl could be her with short hair could be her weβll never know.
I'm a first time watcher of RHOM after seeing a few episodes from the new season. Joanna and Marta are completely ruining the show for me with their emotional immaturity. Joannas lack of self awareness is absolutely astonishing to me and her inability to take responsibility for how she was acting at Lisa's charity event truly sent me through the roof. On top of that, she was apart of every single incident that night. The incident with Joe, whether he was sleezy or not, only happened because of Joanna.
Then in the kitchen when fighting with Adriana, the way she looked at her boyfriend and said with absolutely murderous eyes and said "get out of my way", was absolutely terrifying and reminded me of my 5 year old niece having a melt down. Adriana was trying to remove herself from the situation and Joanna followed her all while yelling at her. She then proceeds to grab her, to where Adriana reacts and hits her back. Justified imo. Her complete lack of ability to take any responsibility at all for that fight goes unmatched. She also proceeds to make comments about Adriana saying she must have come from the slums of Brazil because she hit someone. Disgusting.
There have been some other scenes where her and Marta are completely unbearable. When Marta is fighting with Joanna's cheating pos boyfriend, Joanna takes his side instead of her sister's. Although, Marta acting like a whiny baby was enough for me to skip the rest of the scene.
Marta has some redeeming qualities. I do like how she makes comments to her sister about her behaviour, even though she doesn't necessarily hold her accountable. She seems very scared of Joanna. However, I'm at the point where I don't even want to continue season two and possibly even season three.
Does she become more bearable, or does she continue to be the person I expected her to be?
Oh, and Karent is pretty unbearable as well. Especially now that her and Joanna seem to be besties π
I obviously understand how silly and subjective this all is, but when I listen to Divers, I am still so amazed by its depth, production, lyricism, and concept. Even packaging.
To me, Divers is the record that reminds me most of Ys (which I believe is her best work). Although the records are sonically and lyrically very different, they feel the same to me. Maybe Iβm just wrong, in that all of her works are complex and moving in the same way. But Divers and Ys are the most theatrical, and in both I find myself much more moved and emotional. I really feel like I just went through something.
Obviously this is just an opinion. I adore Joannaβs more folkish approach. Many of it is actually my favorite work from her. (But all of her work is my favorite). But I just wanted to share, because when I take the time to relisten to Divers, I am always in complete aw.
I donβt even listen to the Ringer-verse so hopefully someone can help me fill in the blanks there. But based off her Prestige TV / Big Picture / BS content, I have been so impressed. She comes off as very well read and insightful but almost more importantly brings that warm, excited energy where you feel like youβve been friends for years but actually donβt even know her. A great addition
Is the character of Joanna meant to depict someone suffering from trauma or some form of mental instability? Or is that a mistaken impression I get?
Because from the novels, I get a sense that she is exceptionally angry and volatile, even in comparison to the other Jade Falcon warriors.
Back from my holiday hiatus!
Here are last week's results!

Despite the male models mostly underperforming, this was a great week for our girls! Ellie and Lainey delivered strong photos, but Sasha dominated this photoshoot, scoring the FCO with a staggering 36.2 points!
Yasmin was at risk of being in the bottom two, but the fans liked her shot enough to ensure she went on another week! Naomi failed to impress both fans and judges, and while Viola had a respectable high fan score, she was unable to win over all the judges, and with this being her third bottom two appearance in four weeks it was just too hard to justify her staying on.
In all 3 cycles of SSNTM no model has ever received quite as much fan love as Viola! Love or hate her classic "ANTM fierce" modelling style, Cycle 3 wouldn't be the same without her and she's an absolute lock-in for Allstars!
Here is the updated scoreboard

This week, the models received a visit from a very special guest - Joanna Roche, winner of SSNTM Cycle 2 (and guest model coach from my dear friend's own SNTM series)! Not only will she be mentoring the girls as they prepare for the finale, she's also this week's photographer!
This week's shoot was all about softness and vulnerability, something that comes easier to some models than others. The girls were asked to put their differences aside for a dreamy oceanside group photoshoot.
