A list of puns related to "Hyrax"
I recently bought a bunch of Zoologist samples from The Perfumed Court because it seemed like such a fun sniffing experience. Iβve read a lot of interesting reviews on this house in the past, but decided not to jog my memory before sampling with the intention to come to the fragrances as βfreshβ as possible, I guess.
Yesterday I started by random pull, and ended up with Dragonfly. I found it to be pretty, but I was honestly a little bit disappointed at how well-mannered and demure it was. Oh sweet summer child :)
Today I was about to leave for an ENT appointment and looked through the samples quickly. I was trying to be considerate so I quickly ruled out Tyrannosaurus Rex, Civet, and Beaver. I apparently have a shaky knowledge of zoology though, because when I saw Hyrax I pictured something more like some kind of a mountain goat?
I applied a fairly liberal dab and upon first sniff I thought βWoah! Yeah! Now THATβS more like it!β
Upon second sniff, I thought, βUmmmm maybe I better not wear this into the office.β
While this was happening, I was trying to get my son out of bed and dressed for school. By the time his socks were on I honestly felt near panic in a I-HAVE-to-get-this-off-before-I-see-the-dr type of way. I scrubbed pretty hard, and it certainly wasnβt gone but it did start to behave itself a little more.
It smells like a cave full of warm, breathing, furry critters who have been hibernating with very little airflow for months. It was wild, in every sense of the word. I certainly donβt mind an animalic dose to my fragrances - in fact, Iβm very partial to a few vintage bottles that have a pretty skanky spine - but that was on a whole new level for me. Iβm honestly kind of excited to try it again to see more of what I think about it. Just not on a day where I have a dr appointment :)
What are your favorites from this house?
I have hyrax tires and a lizard (non pro) on the way and I was wondering if anyone had any setup tips for either one. Like if I should run the tires vented or not or with foams or without them. Also Iβm running the lizard with an injora brushed motor till I save a little money for the nano beast.
I run my c10 outdoors and Iβm running the Patagonia right now which is half decent but easily loses traction once it comes in contact with mud, water or even dirt for that matter and I am thinking of upgrading to the hyrax. Any thoughts would be appreciated
Hey friends. My oops is your gain. Got Hyrax tires with the included mounted beadlock rims. They rub against the powerhobby brass knuckles. Enough rub to make driving problematic.
No biggie for me, I have new rims on order, but if youβre planning on running these, the 3 beadlock mounting screws get in the way. Might be a problem with the other brands of knuckles too but I dunno.
Also makes those round brass wheel hub weights impossible too.
You could probably shave/file down the knuckle if you love these rims.

Hello, I need to get another palate expander as I have an extremely narrow arch. I began treatment at 17, had a basic rapid palatal expander placed in which caused a lot of tipping. It created a diastema but was mainly dental tipping. My Ortho then removed this expander (I still didn't have braces at this point) so the teeth could relapse to the original position. Then to stop the tipping and get skeletal rather than dental tipping I got a bonded hyrax placed in. I got some skeletal expansion with it but it wasn't a lot and the expander ended up breaking and I had it removed after about 15 turns. The orthodontist then told me to get 4 extractions as he was kind of done with the expanders. I got the extractions but I still have an extremely narrow upper palate as the extractions won't change the bone structure of the palate. He then put in braces when I was about 17.5 years old. I was talking to my ortho about MSE/MARPE which he seemed like he didn't really know how to do it and had little knowledge about it. He said that he was going to use another bonded hyrax instead of the MSE. Do you think that the bonded hyrax will drastically fix my upper arch as compared to the MSE? Will it fix my nasal airway blockage? Or will I need an MSE or SARPE for this? Thank you!
Is there a specific orientation I'm supposed to mount these tires? I notice there's an orange dot on the side wall of all the tires is that dot supposed be be facing out or in or does it not matter
I think itβs because I dont usually crawl on rocks but rather swamps and creek crossings with some lose Terrain, what are the best tires for stuff like that?
So i recently realized that a couple of things went less then ideal during my first round of braces. My Orthodontist put in a Hyrax at 17/18 without any type of Surgery.
It feels like my palate is too narrow for my tongue and there is a general feeling of my mouth being too small for my tongue. A couple of functional issues have also come up over the last year. Mainly pain/soreness in my left Jaw Joint and worsening sleep quality (Waking up too early, feeling tired/fatigued during the day). Breathing through my nose is not really possible as well most of the time.
My bite is not ideal as well at this point, my 2nd Molars make no contact when biting down at all. The 1st Molars barely touch as well, but i'm technically a Dental Class 1. Before getting Braces i had A Class 3 Open bite.
I also realized that i would have probably benefited from Orthognatic Surgery as well, my Orthodontist sadly went down the route of camouflaging my underbite without ever mentioning Surgery. Both my Upper and Lower Incisors are currecntly retroclined.
I'd like to know if anyone has had a similar experience as i'm not sure what can be done at this point. Reversing the effect the Hyrax had and getting something like a MSE/DOME would be my preferred plan, but i'm not sure if this is even possible.
A recent X-Ray shows that my roots are fine, so i'm not concerned about root resorption. I plan on getting a CBCT as well. I feel like my Orthodontist kind of screwed me, but i'm also angry at myself for not doing enough research and blindly trusting my Ortho. I wear bonded Retainers and also wear a Retainer at night.
A different Ortho that i consulted with recently told me that i would benefit from Jaw Surgery, but i would ideally like to get some form of Surgically Assisted Palate Expansion because the Dental Expansion from the Hyrax seems to be unstable in the long run.
My concern is also that Jaw Surgery would be prone to relapse because of this as well. The Ortho also mentioned that braces for 6-9 months in preparation for Surgery would be needed.
I am 22 years old and live in Germany but i would be willing to Consult with Orthos/MaxFacs in other countries as well.
Any advice woul be appreciated.
TLDR: Had a Hyrax without Surgery, Palate is too narrow for my tongue and i'm curious if palate expansion can still be done. Also considering getting a Bimax, but want to get Maxillary Expansion before that.
biobloc vs hyrax, which is best for palatal expansion in teenagers?
Hi guys,
Sprayed three times. Worst buy blind of my life. Drydown is good but it smells way too funky on the opening. Size is 60ml, full at 99%.
135β¬ shipped to Europe with F&F, +5% if G&S.
I did a sample set, didn't like the new Snowy Owl (too aquatic) but I'm rather taken with Hyrax. That said, it's not that far from my beloved Moth. They're still different, of course, but Hyrax is a wonderful animalic pong compared with Moth's gothic rotting incense.
Still, I wonder if I'm bonkers to being homing in on two of the more violent Zoologist offerings. Nightingale is lovely but I'm bursting with chypre's and don't need another one, no matter how pretty.
So am I a nutbar for seriously thinking of Hyrax, even though I've got Moth already? Or does anybody have a really good Hyrax wanna-be dupe?
Pardon the ramble. Any help appreciated.
