A list of puns related to "Hydraulic accumulator"
I am getting a used hydraulic accumulator retrieved from ship scrap for 1/5th the price of a new one. I am told that it is precharged with nitrogen gas only the pressure is not known. If I have a oil pressure gauge and a hydraulic hand pump can I determine the pressure of the gas in the accumulator? The person deals in hydraulic scraps of ship so won't have a air pressure gauge. Knowing the pressure lets me decide if I would have to refill it and that would increase my purchase cost. I want to use for a bicycle project so used accumulator should not be a problem. Please guide.
Hey all, we have a hydraulic system which needs to provide some give. Currently using accumulators but hoping to simplify the system with a compressible fluid. I've seen some references to silicone oils, but haven't found any details. Anyone able to point me in the right direction for what exactly I'm looking for, or where to buy some? Thanks!
Hello it's me again! In a reddit AMA at the start of last year when asked by U_Foxic44 about the inspiration behind Hydra, poppa Ewert stated that "looked at steam power, has some merit". That got me thinking how practical/feasible/safe is it to even consider building such a machine?
With steam if the design is up to standard, it could use water in its liquid form to provide the hydraulic aspect and pneumatics would come from the actual steam cycle - that means that (at least theoretically) a system capitalising on this method could perhaps be made somewhat more compact/lightweight compared to other types of fast acting hybrid based hydraulic systems such as those found in Petunia/Hydra or hydro-only such as Quantum.
Of course the most positive facets of a bot that draws on this setup are not only the power of compressed liquid, but the fast firing/retracting of pressurised gas employing this combined cycle operation for the best of both worlds.
The most prevailing shortcomings of both are as follows (apologies if I miss any out) Pneumatics: Limited by how much fuel can be carried onboard (in the case of CO2 as still used in the UK) stored as a liquid. Not sure about Nitrogen as it's liquid form tends to flash-freeze almost anything it comes into contact with. HPA? Again I don't know much about that particular gas under those conditions to say. Susceptible to external conditions: Outside factors, most significantly ambient temperature can alter the properties of the fuel using more of it up and/or generating power especially in the case of a design like Hydra. Greater instability at higher pressure levels: This typically is the reason why at some events (such as Robot Wars and UK live events) compressed gas based systems are mandated to function at lower pressure ratings than their liquid based counterparts.
Hydraulics: More generally heavier and larger (to cope with higher pressures) Greater cost: Again if it's pressurising fluid rather than gas, the components required will naturally be manufactured to more exacting requirements and tolerances thus leading to more substantial costs of the end product. Contamination: if any kind of pure hydraulic system gets contaminated with air (aeration) , it could compromise expected performance of the equipment or damage it outright. In the event of foreign particle matter (such as small metal flakes or dust) finding its way into the system, it might compromise proper functionality of the system or damage

The hard part: test should run for several weeks. Maybe months. So the hand pump we have is a no go.
How would you do it?
Just shoot some ideas! Bad ones! Good ones! I'll sort later. Assume I am competent from a safety perspective.
EDIT: Some more details I perhaps should've added from the start. Didn't want to make the post too long...

A valve between the pump and the test system have been tried! I have a setup like this running right now over the weekend logging pressures to a laptop. I also added a ~1m hydraulic hose suspended above the setup which I pre-filled with air to 8 bars from our shop air. Gives a bit more margins for small leakages. Leak obv lowers the pressure but not as drastic as if everything was water filled.
Hand-pump-and-closeoff-valve is nicely simple and it sure works but has some drawbacks since we want to:
Hi All,
I have an application that requires a very small tank but very high flow. I understand reservoir size should be at least 3x flow rate of pump...however we need a 200L reservoir and 500 LPM.
I'm looking at using a pressurized breather, as well as a charge pump and baffles in the reservoir.
Am I missing anything else and I not considered something which I should be? Please advise
Thanks
are there any hydraulic inflatables similar to the inflatables in air bag suspension? Is it possible to design one using principles of that are used with airbag suspension design?
Iβve seen a good amount of unconventional weapon suggestions and here are a few of my own, feel free to share what your ideas are!
Crusher flame combo (quantum x complete control)
Pneumatic crusher/hammer combo (bites quickly over biting slowly)
Flywheel powered hammer
Horizontal hammersaw (pretty much like a standard hammersaw but turn the spinner so the edge of the spinner hits horizontally)
Let me know what you think!
So my brake booster motor failed, leaving me with no choice but to spend oodles of money to replace it. I'd you aren't familiar, the 01's and 02's have a hydraulic brake booster instead of the standard (and cheaper) vacuum brake booster. Whatever, I ordered a motor and accumulator from Toyota and pulled the master cylinder out. I also rebuilt the master cylinder with new internals while I had it out (old ones looked great and operated great. Just wanted to do it while I was there).
Anyway, onto my question. After replacing, reinstalling and bleeding the crap out of the system, I still hate the pedal. I hated it before, but I had hopes that the new master cylinder components and fresh fluid would provide a solid pedal. The truck stops great though. I notice with the truck off (no key either), with enough force, I can get the pedal to touch the bottom. Can you do that with yours? It's harder with the truck running, but it's still weird. I know most people hate the brake pedal in these trucks but though it was interesting. I have an appointment tomorrow for the dealer to make sure they're flushed properly, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna feel exactly the same. What're y'all's thoughts?
Hi all,
How do EV teams usually handle the removal of their accumulator from the car? Our accumulator drops out the bottom, and we are trying to determine a safe and easy way to remove it.
We are also curious what everyone does for their charging cart itself. How have people tackled the deadman switch rule?
Our team has been looking at using a hydraulic lift cart to raise/lower the accumulator in and out of the car and then retrofitting a deadman brake onto the lifting cart. We were struggling to then package all of the charging peripherals on any of the carts and are considering alternatives.
Our other plan was to create handles that attach to our accumulator to make it easier to carry. Then we just unbolt the accumulator, lift away the car, then add handles to hoist it up onto our cart.
Neither idea has proven particularly easy to implement or appealing to use. I haven't been able to find any ideas online. Does anyone have experience with their cart design that they can share?
Any ideas are appreciated.
Hi everyone,
today we have revealed our first product launch of 2022: XMG OASIS.

In some of our launch material, we will use the claim World's first portable Liquid Laptop Cooling.
Please don't put too much stake on the "portable" aspect in this title. We are mainly using it as a foundation for the "World's first" claim. :-)
What really makes XMG OASIS stand out:
But also, keep in mind:
XMG OASIS will be Made in Taiwan.

This is Rezinagro, here to wish you good luck in future trials. The remaining representatives are to return to their quarters and will be provided with an evening meal.
All onlookers are free to collect any winnings and are encouraged to tune in for tomorrowβs trial in which each representative will need to fight and kill a raobdliw!
For now, glory to the Lufedirp!
Cables came down from the large ship overhead, attaching to the edges of the still elevated platform. The tubes supporting the platform were then removed and the group was safely lowered to the ground.
I stayed with Tab as we slowly moved in the direction of the large door. There was a dense crowd of tentacle monsters waiting to escort us back to our rooms; however, we had not made it halfway before a voice started shouting for me.
βHey! You, wait!β Edargidrat shouted as his large body stampeded toward Hannah and her friend. The crowd around them quickly retreated, and Tab took cover behind Hannah.
I was a tad uncomfortable having Edargidrat approach me like this, he did just win a bloody battle royale, but I didnβt retreat, as I could hear the difference in his voice compared to when he was unhappy.
βThat wasβ¦ quite impressive. You are a mighty warrior.β
βYou did that, right? Thank you.β
Did what? Did I do something? I thought back on my conversation with the Lufedirp representative. Is that why they suddenly changed the rules? Was this species really gullible enough to bend to the complaint of their prisoners? I accidentally let out a little chuckle as my mind began to plot my next complaint. Tab clearly heard my little chuckle and expressed her concern.
βWait, Hannah, what did you do? What is this guy talking about?β Tab exclaimed.
βI, umm, did Edargidrat here a little favor.β
βHannah,β Edargidrat intervened, βI donβt know how you did it, but you have earned my gratitude. I will support you in any way you need.β
I took a moment to consider my options, although apparently for too long, as the tentacle monsters were now herding the group in the direction of the large door.
βUhh, looks like we better get moving. I might just take you up on that offer, but for now, we should probably go before we get tranquilized.β I grabbed Tabβs wing and started pulling her toward the door.
**Once Edargidrat was out of

Canadian Overseas PetroleumConfirms Significant Oil Discovery
London, United Kingdom; Calgary, Canada: January 10, 2022 - Canadian Overseas Petroleum Limited ("COPL" or the "Company") (XOP: CSE) & (COPL: LSE), an international oil and gas exploration, production and development company with operations focused in Wyoming, USA, announces a significant conventional light oil discovery at its Wyoming asset. In addition, COPL provides an operational update on its Barron Flats Shannon Field production.
Highlights of the significant conventional light oil discovery
Following the announcements by the Company in August and November 2021, discovery has been confirmed on COPL's large leasehold position in Converse and Natrona Counties, Wyoming in four (4) Frontier Fm. (1&2) and one (1) Dakota Fm sand(s).
Β· COPL currently estimates the total reservoir volume of the discovery to be 1.5 billion to 1.9 billion Bbl. of Oil in Place ("OIP"), of which 1.275 billion to 1.64 billion Bbl. of OIP underlays COPL lands
Β· Production has already commenced from the Dakota Fm, the lowermost reservoir sand in the BFU 14-30VF discovery well (100% WI) at 100-120 Bbl. oil/d
Arthur Millholland, President & CEO of COPL, commented:
"We acquired Atomic Oil & Gas in January 2021 aware of the significant exploration upside, however the acquisition rationale and financial model reflected a long-term production flow from existing wells of 5,000 barrels per day. Since then, we have increased production from the existing wells and accelerated our exploration program which has resulted in today's announced discovery. This highlights the potential for the Wyoming asset to generate long-term production on a scale many multiples greater than our original expectation."
"We are delighted that this discovery reflects the scale of previous discoveries made over my career and in particular, the North Sea. We estimate the Frontier element of the discovery to cover an area of approximately 51 square miles with the capacity of up to three horizontal wells per square mile each initially producing 1,000 - 3,000 barrels per day. We plan a phased production program and have already applied for permits covering four horizontal wells. We will use internal resources to cover the initial costs of development whilst full field development plans are evaluated. This d

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
I have a 1998 750i with 224,000KM.
The EDC was functioning sporadically, i.e. 50% of the time it would be soft & normal, but then other times it would stick on the "ultra-hard" mode and become undriveable.
I started with the EDC module replacement. No change.
Then we had another EDC module, since someone said it "might" be defective or the wrong part number. No change.
Then I bought a GT1/INPA diagnosis system, and found "Valve Block Front/ Valve Block Rear" errors.
I then found Nagengast, and organized a repair of my shocks.
I then purchased a set of 4 x EDC shocks used, so I could put on my car, while I sent my own shocks back to Nagengast for repair.
I sent my shocks for repair, paid >1000 EUR, waited 1 month or so, and they sent them back to me "repaired".
I installed them on my car, and it worked well for 1 afternoon.
The next day, ultra hard.
Valve Block Front Failure. Nagengast says measure the resistance on the shocks themselves, found that 1 front, and 1 rear was reading 0.0/0.0 at 200 ohm.
Complained to them, and 1 month or so later, they sent 2 new shocks.
Again, installed the shocks, and again, valve block fault. Measured resistance again, one was 6 ohm, other 0,06. Complained again, and advised I wanted to send them all back and get a refund.
Decided that even though I had spent a LOT of money to get new accumulators, replace leaking SLS lines, and replace leaking SLS pump, I would "tie back" the hydraulic lines and go back to Bilstein B4's. (a great shock btw, I use them on an E38 740i and love them)
Spoke with a friend that runs a Mercedes service department, and he advised to check Aerosus for replacement parts, says he uses them on Airmatic W221's (I have one of these too) often and they're reliable.
So, I purchased a set of 4 x EDC struts for Aerosus, and they arrived _THE NEXT DAY_ which was incredible.
Today we have the installation of the Aerosus EDC shocks front/rear, hoping for the best. I measured resistance when unpacking, and all were reading normally 3,3-4,4 Ohm. I really, want this to end.
Hoping for some luck this time.
beware - if you get an EDC problem, you can end up in a nightmare as I did.
Do your worst!
