Twi'Lek Biology - What Even is it Anymore?

With the premiere of Book of Boba Fett, we have been treated to no less the four new Twi'Lek characters. Unfortunately, these new characters have thrown an even greater wrench into the matter of Twi'Lek ears.

The problems all began with ROTJ, with the very first appearance of the Twi'Lek species - [Oola] (https://imgur.com/Bj2vTYL), and [Bib Fortuna] (https://imgur.com/kXCiTHa). Bib has somewhat deformed, but still recognizably human ears. Oola, on the other hand, has a pair of white cones attached to her headress, that cover her presumably human ears. However, by the time of the prequel era, these cones transitioned from being decorative elements to her actual ears.

Aayla Secura features smaller, skin tone colored cones instead of ears. This pattern continued throughout the Clone Wars and Rebels eras, with female characters like Hera Syndulla and Numa having cones, while males like Cham Syndulla and Gobi having humanoid ears.

There was of course one major exception to this - Orn Free Taa. The Clone Wars series made a few changes to the prequel Twi'Leks. [Chi Eekway] (https://imgur.com/a/F3Wyggd), originally a Twi'Lek, was retconed into a Pantoran. Taa, initially an unnamed species, was turned into the Twi'Lek Senator for Ryloth. Taa of course feature biology not seen on any other member of the species. He has humanoid ears, like the other males, but also four Lekku, and only four fingers per hand.

Aside from Taa, Twi'Leks remained relatively consistent until the Disney Era films. [Beezer] (https://imgur.com/a/CfLu7mF), the first live-action Twi'Lek since ROTS, follows the pattern set by Bib with humanoid, albeit deformed ears. It is not until Solo, when a [pair of Twi'Leks] (https://imgur.com/a/jccdW2z) on Dryden's Yacht appear. A male and female, both with cones. The visual dictionary confirm ls that male is merely wearing 'faux cones' as a fashion element.

The Mandalorian introduces two more Twi'Lek characters: Xi'an, and her brother Quinn. Both clearly do not have ear cones, with their headresses being completely flat over the ears. The Book of Boba Fett introduces several new characters, including the [Majordomo] (https://imgur.com/a/XB7rKWB), a male who noticeably lack ears cones, but another male who clearly has them. All the females in the series so far seem to also have ear cones.

There are several other differences as w

[PC][2007-2015] 3D Space game where you control a ship in 1st person, get into space fights with aliens, and the player's ship evolves because it is a mechanical-biological hybrid

Platform(s): I played on PC, I don't know if it released in others.

Genre: space shooter, possibly with RPG elements

Estimated year of release: 2007-2015 I think it was around this time, during my high-school and college days. I played a lot of games back then.

Graphics/art style: 3D, trying to be futuristic and realistic (graphics were ok for the time, but nothing too impressive)

Notable characters: the player's ship. it could evolve when the player found some special biological matter, and it was something really special in the game's universe. the player's father or mentor figure gifts the ship to the player right before they die.

Notable gameplay mechanics: fly around in space, complete missions, fight other ships, land in space stations - which sometimes had queues for landing inside the bay, and they would complain if you cut the queue. and there were some turret defence sections - the last of which was so hard, I remember I had to use some cheats to pass. it was difficult enough that many players had trouble with it and I know I found the cheat on the internet.

Other details: the game features humans and many other alien races. for some reason, the alien's religions were something relatively important. there were some races that had many religions, some that only had one. this could impact how they greeted the player, I remember some saying something like "disgusting human, you can't even figure out your own religions"

[Heavy DMCV Spoilers] The Lore From DMCV In the Context of the Whole Series Indirectly Gives A Good Explanation as to Why Human-Demon Hybrids Are so Absurdly Powerful/Durable as Well as How Their Biology Probably Works. LONG

This is gonna be a bit lengthy so bear with me.

As per the title, I am going to give what I think is a pretty solid explanation as to why Dante, Vergil, and Nero are so powerful, and it also explains how Nero overpowers both of them at the end of DMCV when he gains his Devil Trigger.

Starting off, DMCV makes it pretty clear that human blood is an insane power source to demons that consume it, especially considering the Qliphoth fruit. Based on all the tubes throughout the tree, the Qliphoth fruit is likely made of the hyper-concentrated part of human blood that is responsible for giving demons power. Basically, if you ever took a Chemistry class, it probably works similar to getting pure ethanol out of a mixture of ethanol and water. Except the ethanol is a demonic power boost and you’re distilling it from the blood of slaughtered humans.

This extraordinary fruit is derived specifically from and only from human blood, gave Mundus his power and was enough to reverse Vergil's degeneration when V and Urizen re-combined.

So, what exactly happens when a Demon consumes human blood?

> RED ORBS

Human's transport and use Nutrients via their bloodstream so there's no reason to believe that Demons wouldn't have a similar system in their bodies. Red Orbs are explicitly stated to be Demon Blood, so it would stand to reason that the more human blood a demon consumes, the more red orbs they’ll carry in their body. The more red orbs a demon has, the more powerful they are, which also holds true for all of the main cast as they gain power through red orbs.

>Getting to the point, how does this explain Dante, Vergil, and Nero’s Biology?

While other demons usually have to acquire human blood through killing humans (or robbing blood banks??) Dante, Vergil, and Nero do not. As they are already part human, their bodies likely naturally produce the substance within human blood that makes it a power-boosting substance for demons.

Therefore, it stands to reason that the human parts of their body produce the power-boosting part of human blood for it to be metabolized by the demon parts on a near constant basis. This essentially makes them self-sustaining batteries of demonic power. Looking deeper into it and comparing it to other things we know throughout the series, this also explains why Dante and Vergil have surpassed

I got my PhD in Biochem and purely by chance fell into an industry role in bioinformatics. I do like the pure coding side of things, however, I really think my ideal position would be something like 80% programming / 20% lab. Now, granted I know that kind of split may not exist in a job, but I thought I would try and see if anyone knew what sort of position titles and/or fields might have something more like that. And if its possible to branch out into more biomed engineering/chemE types of labwork with my background?

How many of you are sick of men pulling the biology card to excuse being a pedo?

I came across this post on tik tok where this women was saying she just turned 20 and had no interest in a 15 year old.

In the comments, a man was defending his bros saying that it's the creators fault because 17-19 year olds are more fertile than 30 years old. I would first like to point out that all humans kind of have an instinct to pass on their genes but why are women never talked about. I don't actively seek out a partner cause they are more fertile. And if a women wanted a protector she will be called a gold digger.

Men are most fertile when they are 30-35. DOES THAT FRICKIN MEAN THAT NO MAN GOT MARRIED BEFORE THAT AGE OR AFTER THAT AGE (or had kids).

OR THAT A WOMEN ACTIVELY SEEKS OUT A 35 YEAR OLD TO MATE WITH HIM???? That logic makes no sense at all!!!

I am 18 and i wouldn;t go out with a 30 year old. When i'm 20, I still wouldn't go out with a 30 year old.

However, men can say that literally revealing how much of a pedo they are and nothing can be done. I got my period at 13, do i need to be worried a grown ass man wants to be with me. Idgaf about biology, do they not have a moral conscience. Things change, we go through evolution. We still are, we are constantly evolving. Women no longer need a protector, we are more aware of what is right and wrong but how can men still act like animals.

I'm tired of men. Safe to say I will not be reproducing cause this world is trash and most men just make me feel afraid and sick.

Ex-CIA officer John Ramirez explains why he thinks Lue Elizondo is hinting at hybrids.

On a recent PodcastUFO episode with Martin Willis, ex-CIA officer John Ramirez described a symposium that he was invited to by a colleague where government officials and members of the Invisible College were given a presentation on the hybridization of the human genome by non-human beings.

>It wasn’t a conference, it was more of a one day symposium at a hotel. It was unclassified. It was hard for me to believe it was unclassified and I was able to enter, as I stated, with my cell phone, no ID whatsoever, no badges, completely open inside this conference room. It was not a SCIF.

>And to hear what I heard, I said β€œokay, there’s something to this story.” They relayed it to the fact that it went back to after World War II, for this hybrid story. They didn’t present any evidence. So when they say I don’t have evidence, I agree with you. I don’t have any evidence. All I have is these two top officials saying that the CIA has been interested in the hybridization of humans and have discovered alien DNA in the human genome. That’s what they told me.

>So if I get permission to use their names β€” they’re still alive β€” if I get permission to use their names then that offers another avenue for researchers to actually knock on their doors and ring their phones and say β€œhey, where’s the evidence? How do you know this yourself, that they told me and others in that room about alien DNA?”

>So that’s where I’m at right now. In conjunction with that, I wanted to get my medical records from the CIA. That’s a separate process, it’s not a FOIA process for employees, or former employees of the CIA. We go through different internal channels where we can self-identify as CIA officers because I have a secret number, as I’ve said it’s not 007, but there is a number that they can look up and actually say β€œyeah, this guy is CIA.”

>So I requested my medical records. I’m still waiting on them. They’ve acknowledged receiving my request, and I’m just still waiting on them to deliver, to me, my medical records. I want to see what my medical records might say about any high strangeness the CIA found.

Martin mentions people get hung up on John talking about the hybrid story, and asks him to clear up whether hybridization started happening in the 1940’s forward or if that’s when they discovered something.

>That’s when the government discovered that the human genome contained alien DNA.

Martin then asks how would we know it was alie

Steven's Biology: My attempt at answering a lot of questions about his hybrid status

Part 1: Steven's Birth

Even if you recall how Ian JQ said Rose shapeshifted a womb for Steven, there's still a lot unexplained. For one thing, it should have been impossible to Steven to even have been conceived in the first place. In order for a human baby to be conceived, you would need a haploid egg cell with 23 chromosomes. And gems don't have the necessary organs to produce sex cells ordinarily.

So I imagine this is what happened: Prior to Steven's conception, Rose had to eat in order for her body to produce egg cells out of organic material. But her version of a female reproductive system would have to be slightly modified because she would need a way to produce the DNA needed to make up for the missing chromosomes. So she was somehow able to have her shapeshifted organs translate the gemetic information encoded in her gem into biological DNA. Thus, it was then possible for Steven to be conceived.

Throughout Rose's pregnancy, she had to continue to eat to provide enough organic material for Steven to properly develop. Her gem also provided energy and nourishment to the baby, and was connected to Steven as well. When Steven was born, I don't think he was truly born in the sense that Rose gave birth to him. Rather, she probably had to press her gem into her developing baby's body, fully connecting them and the process caused her to poof.

Part 2: Can Steven poof?

This is actually a very big question, considering that we've never seen Steven experience any major injuries. There are lots of other questions too, like "What if Steven's gem got cracked or shattered but his body was otherwise fine?" or "What if his gem got removed?" "What if he suffered from a fatal injury, would he poof, and if he did, who would come back? Steven or Rose?" Well, I will try to answer these to the best of my ability.

If Steven's gem got cracked, his form wouldn't glitch out or anything, but he might feel weak and unable to use his powers. He could probably fix it with a quick trip to Rose's fountain. If it was shattered, I'm not so sure if he would die, it really depends on whether or not his body was harmed.

Now, if his gem was removed, I do believe Rose would come back, because this makes sense. I've seen some people say that she wouldn't, because her gem would be overwritten with Steven's information, but that's simply not the case. Rose is definitely still there, just buried deep in Steven's subconscious. Otherwise, there's no way Steven would be able to dr

Gender, Social Constructs, Accepting Exceptions, and Customized Biology

I wanted to share a pretty long comment I left in a CMV thread here to ask what you all think about it. Feel free to comment if you agree or disagree and why, if you want.

I’m not sure whether this is a good kind of post to fit this sub, since most posts so far have been memes. If this post does not go over well, then I might avoid sharing my comments from elsewhere as posts here in the future. Still, I thought this might provoke some good discussion.

I was responding to someone who claimed that gender is not a social construct because β€œwe dont really base anything in this world off of β€˜social constructs’ if the science is there to prove or disprove it.” Here is part of my reply:

> …defining gender based on hormones, or even based on genetics, is a very big "if." Acknowledging all of the relevant scientific findings, we can still define gender differently β€” especially if a different definition is more useful.

> …a "social construct" is largely just an assignment of category boundaries to any existing data that does not already fall into perfectly discrete categories by itself β€” in other words, basically any data.

>Even when all relevant science is reasonably settled, we still need to assign thresholds and draw lines to separate our data and experiences into useful categories. Science itself heavily depends on social constructs. Science shows us continua and we chop them up into discrete categories:

>> "Labels and boundaries that break continua into cognitively digestible units aid our memory, and many neurons in associational cortical regions respond to stimuli in a categorical manner. Despite this pull, categorical thinking distorts our ability to view accurately the relationships among facts, in that we tend to underestimate the difference between two facts that happen to be given the same categorical label, while we overestimate the difference between the same two facts if they are given different categorical labels.

>>This was shown in one remarkable study in which β€˜categorical’ neurons were identified in the cortex of monkeys which would respond to the image of a dog or a cat (but not both). The experimenters then presented the test subjects with a computer-generated image of a cat or dog, and then would slowly morph the image so that it was a hybrid of the two (w

believers of the hybrid theory (our DNA spliced with theirs) - i have some questions

some questions (from a lay person) regarding the theory that we are the descendants of hybrid genetic splicing with an alien race;

as i understand it, we share our DNA with all living things on Earth. for example, bananas are often said to contain somewhere between "40-60%" common DNA with us (though im not sure how scientific that really is). how does this affect the theory? or perhaps it's not relevant, seeing as the Homo Erectus/Homo Sapien side of the equation would still tie us to all other life on Earth. But surely, if a chunk of our DNA was from the Mothership (for example), it'd look really out of place - in relation to all other life on Earth?

another point i was wondering about are all the other human types. there were Neanderthals, and more recently other parallel human kinds have been discovered - the fossil record suggests they got into Europe first, and then were later replaced by Homo Sapiens (us) - perhaps due to a super volcano event around Italy (a theory i read recently). were these other hominoids also spliced from the same hybrid? was the hybrid with a Homo Erectus and then from this came Neanderthals (and others) plus Homo Sapiens (us)? or was the hybrid later?

how does the hybrid theory tie in with the fossil record? or perhaps the hybrid theory ties in to the point in evolution where the big brains came about (Homo Sapiens) - (which is claimed to be the Rift Valley in South Africa)? in which case the hybrid could have been between an alien and a form of Homo Erectus...

anyway... just some thoughts/questions! i think it's an interesting theory. but i also wonder how it can be tied in with the chunks of evidence we have unearthed (from the fossil record - which is only ever snapshots) - or from the evidence inside us all, our DNA.
