A list of puns related to "Human interface device"
Hi all! I have several Logitech/Thrustmaster Human Interface Devices--like a joystick, racing simulator stuff. Every button/axis/control has a name of "Joystick_axis1" or "Wheel_Button7". This is cool because the buttons aren't mapped to keyboard-specific buttons/keys--leaving those free for other bindings. Is there a way to do this with arduino? Where I can make a USB HID, but instead of having a button-press map to the "I" key for example, I can set it to "CustomArduino_Button1", leaving "I" free for normal use. I can then go into a game and map "Open/Close Inventory" to "CustomArduino_Button1". I can elaborate more if this doesn't make sense. I appreciate any help you can provide!
I was wondering if it would be possible to turn a normal USB into a HID so it can run scripts automatically.
My cintiq havent funtion like normal for a year now,due to covid and issues I never got around to sending it back to where i bought. The device isn't detected and I cant do usual tutorials available online because no wacom tablet under human interface device. The pen won't work at all i have contacted support did the drill they ask me to do. Someone I know had the same problem but they have been using it as second display now,it all started after I downloaded new windows update.I have formatted my laptop to no avail.
Tablet not working at all.
I tried everything more than once. A few things that may be important:
- I never used this tablet on this pc
- I lost the cable and I'm using a bought micro usb cable (phone charger I guess? I don't use android)
- My windows is installed on E:/ instead of C:/ (Tried to make a junction, didn't work)
- I tried to remove every single thing related to Wacom and install again, including dll files.
But this is the weird part for me, every single troubleshoot site I try to follow it's saying about the Wacom driver on Human Interface Devices, but I never found mine there. The only driver Wacom related on my Device Manager is a "Intuos PTS" located on the "Other Devices" drop down, and it has a yellow triangle with the message "this device is not configured correctly".
This is a really old tablet, but I have no idea how to fix this... Any help?

I'm pretty blown away.
You wouldn't get this from any other guy.
I worked in IT 10 years ago for a nonprofit organization and I was the assistant hired to take the load off the IT Manager. Therefore he handled the file server / web / email aspects that kept the office humming while I was left with, well, you know.
I was new on the job and we had gotten a few boxes of new PCs. So I was underneath desks all day replacing monitors and towers, getting them on the network, helping users migrate. I didn't mind doing hardware work as a break from the month or two I spent staring screens all day.
That was until I got a call from the secretary up front. She was asked by the CFO to call me and ask to come see him in his office. Something about how he is no longer able to click on things.
I walk in, dust on my work clothes from crawling through cables all morning, and ask him what's up. For what it's worth he was a very nice old man, not angry at all, no blaming IT, but still very confused about his computer.
He points to the taskbar at the bottom of the screen (Windows XP) and says that he wants to click on his Outlook tab, but he cannot reach it. The cursor is floating just above it. I still don't know what this is all about until he gestures down toward the desk.
The mouse is on the brink of falling off the edge and he doesn't know what to do.
This was the first time my people skills were ever truly put on the spot. As I slowly lifted the mouse in the air to move it a few inches back I say words that to this day I do not remember. I came up with a very strange explanation involving lasers, DPI, and the affects of various surfaces on a mouse's optics. It was complete & total bull but he seemed very impressed and grateful for my help. He even bought me lunch that day and told the boss that he liked the new computer whiz in the office.
Even still. WOW
This is going to be my second post about it; My Wacom Cintiq 16 is not connected to my computer as a tablet but only as a monitor because it's connected via HDMI cable so for right now it only serves as an monitor. All the wires that the tablet came with are plugged into my computer, but it's still not cooperating with me. I have a feeling that one of the wires doesn't work because whenever I disconnect it and connect it nothing happens (the USB Cable). If that isn't the case I hope that somebody can help me.
Haha, just sharing what I learned today. π
After a long day of trouble shooting. I found out that Bluetooth power management is under human interface device instead of Bluetooth in device manager. π€―π€·πΌββοΈ
For those that want to fix their missing Bluetooth or random hang and disconnect. The fixes are.
A. Missing bluetooth
This fixes my missing Bluetooth.
B. Random disconnect and hangs on Bluetooth
For some funny reason, Bluetooth power options are not under Bluetooth but is under human interface device. Donβt ask me why, I spend a good one day going in circle βοΈ.
Hope this help to solve your Bluetooth problem. Cheers π₯ π
I have experienced unexpected shutdowns and i think it may be related to a driver problem since i see it on the event log every time the shutdown happens.
"The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem."
On device manager under the human interface devices, i see like 10 different devices, besides my usual keyboard, mouse and headset. Some are called HID-compliant consumer control device and others HID-compliant vendor defined device. I obviously don't have 10 extra devices connected through my pc. Why does this kind of thing happen? Do you guys think this is the reason for the reboots?
Back in the late 90's and early 00's, I worked as a customer support technician for a company producing websites. We provided a free design service if they signed up for a subscription for a inventory management system.
Most of our customers were reasonably OK with IT and wanted to open up the additional sales channel, expanding beyond their local areas and selling to people all over the country. A few were not completely literate, and it took some coaching to get them through how to use a digital camera, how to rename the photos, and so on.
Couple of my favourite conversations went as follow:
> me: Right, so now right-click on your desktop.
> customer: how will that help get the photos on the computer.
> me: We're setting up a link from your desktop to the folder that will store your images, so you can access it right from the desktop.
> customer: But how does writing 'click' on my desktop make that work?
> me:.....oh whoops, sorry. When I say 'right-click' I mean press the right mouse button, while your mouse icon is hovering over the main screen on your computer.
> customer: so I don't need to write anything down?
> me: no, not at this stage. Just press the mouse button on the right-hand side.
> customer: I always use my right hand...oh, you mean pressing the rightmost of the two buttons. OK, with you now.
install proceeds seamlessly
> me: How can I help?
> customer: I keep getting interrupted by messages.
> me: That's no good. What's the error code that you get?
> customer: ...there's no error code, I just keep getting messages.
> me: So is it like an information box, or some other kind of message?
> customer: You know, through email. Emails.
> me: (we don't have email error alerts...?) Can you read out what one of them says?
> customer: 'Hi <customer>, can I come check out the <$8,000 item> today, i'm free at lunch say around 12.30'
> me: You...you don't want to receive enquiries about the stock you have advertised for sale?
> customer: I want them to phone me, just phone me. I don't like email, it takes too much time. Just switch it off.
> me: (checking email log - there's like 15-20 a day!) It's important that your customers can contact you...
> customer: mate just turn the f*cking thing off, I can't be arsed with all the little shit. I only want to hear from people w
... keep reading on reddit β‘I am sure a few people are in the same boat as me. I am excited about the tech but also paranoid of the potential consequences. If there was an option for a 1-way device from brain to computer I would certainly take it. That way I could write code with my brain among other possibilities without worry of potential hacking or the temptation of hacking my own emotions in a dystopian-esque way.
Isn't it a little ughhh? Having a streaming service that emphasizes on high sound quality, yet provides no easy way of consuming it? How would that help sell music subscriptions or Alexa devices?
Edit: To clarify, I only want CD quality lossless audio. What I was trying to say is, Amazon is selling us these HD stuff, so presumably it is targeting people who care about sound quality, yet it makes it difficult to play its music on good audio equipment.
I havenβt done no update or nothing it was working perfectly fine .
The microphone is less than 6 months old - interface is displaying thatβs itβs detecting noise from the microphone but canβt seem to connect it to logic as an input and output device . Has this occurred for anyone else before ?
I have Windows 8.1 on my ASUS Ultrabook laptop intel core i5 (I have this laptop for a while now). I'm borrowing a friend's tablet, a Wacom Cintiq 13HD Creative Pen Display. I've been using it a good number of times until I stopped since I was busy. A while has passed until I decided to start using the tablet again.
When I plugged in the tablet into the laptop, I couldn't use the pen. It wasn't after I did some investigating that I found a problem, a supported tablet is not found on the system. Naturally I looked for ways to solve this issue.
One solution was to look for Wacom Tablet under Human Interface Devices to update the driver. The problem was, when I went to Human Interface Devices, Wacom Tablet wasn't listed under there.
Another solution was to uninstall the drivers entirely and reinstall them again. I did just that, but it didn't work.
I'm out of ideas here, can someone help me?
I have a Windows PC with an Ethernet connection and an Embedded Linux device connected via rndis. My PC sets interface metric to be higher for rndis interface. Because of that, I am not able to access the internet at the same time. I can change the metric in windows and use the Internet. But I want to change it on the device side. So whenever I connected my embedded Linux device to my PC, my Linux device interface should get low metrics. How can I do this?
Hello,
I am having issues using my airpods with my windows 10 pc. They connect fine, but after about 15 seconds of inactivity, they shut off and have to reconnect, which takes a few seconds, which is especially annoying when pausing/playing video. I have found a few sources that say the solution is to go into device manager under "Human Interface Devices" and turn off windows' ability to turn off the airpods under the power management settings, but I can't find my airpods under the HID tab. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: one source is here: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/airpods-keeps-disconnecting-and-reconnecting , several people on reddit had the same suggestion
