A list of puns related to "Hamilton"
My husband is doing an Ironman next month (if you donβt know what this is itβs basically and INSANELY long triathlon for crazy people). My husband is also the worldβs biggest Hamilton fan. Im not very clever, but was hoping you guys could help me come up with 1 or 2 punny things I could write on a poster for him for motivation during his race. Any ideas!?
Itβs a long story, but I need as many Hamilton puns involving nature as possible. I already have Aaron Birch and King George the Fern. Any other ideas?
Does anyone have any good ideas for food dishes or drinks to serve at a Tony's party that incorporates some Hamilton puns or ideas?
Just some random thoughts on New York, some of which is drawn from previous posts:
I've posted before that I think the "rhapsodic man" is Billy Joel. He's a NY native, was incredibly popular (remember this was written for kids), and one of his most popular songs-to-date was The Piano Man. Since we're looking for "simple roots in [his] soil," I thought about any geographic landmarks mentioned in his lyrics and came up with Chinatown and Riverside in "New York State of Mind," as well as 52nd Street, which is both a song and the title of his 1978 album, which may have been top of mind during the writing. I've also posted that I think that "him of Hard word/3 vols." could be Rocky. Hard as a Rock, Rocky 3 came out the same year as the book, and if you're a fan of the Japanese hints, Rocky did, in fact, start with chickens. (Search YT for "Kentucky Fried Idiot."). Finally, I'm on board with Hamilton being the Indies native.
So....I looked for intersections of at least two of the three data points, and came up with three different areas to explore:
Joel + Rocky: 52nd St. and Hell's Kitchen (Stallone's home). There's a large park called DeWitt Clinton Park. Whirring sound could be one of those now-mainly-banned spinning things that launched kids off when the centrifugal forces got too high. This I really like: two sides of the park are surrounded by car dealers ("cars abound") which is notable as dealerships seem to be concentrated in this area (it's like a high end Auto Mile). No sign of Hamilton (pun intended), but perhaps Clinton and Hamilton were buddies and there is/was a sign in the park that mentioned it.
Joel + Hamilton: Hamilton Fountain at 76th and Riverside. There's also a park nearby called Elephant ("grey giant"?) Playground and the fountain features the gryphon that many see in the waves. The playground may have had a spinning thing, too.
Joel and Hamilton: 52nd St. and Fort Hamilton Parkway in Brooklyn (where BP grew up). Again, there happens to be a park at this intersection. Any chance BP went to PS 160, which shares the intersection?
Please poke around if you're in the area. Tough to see too much on Google Maps.
He would be 265 years old
Was my Hamilton pun good

Whats New!!
I've always thought Lewis was one of the greatest drivers of the generation, but there was something about him that always rubbed me wrong way. My girlfriend was asking me about it a few years back, and the only explanation I could give was that "Everything he says feels so rehearsed. So fake. It's like he's saying what he thinks is the right thing to say, instead of saying what he really thinks or feels."
And then after watching Russel smack Bottas upside the head after Vallteri threw him the finger, it hit me : Lewis couldn't do that.
When I thought back to how Lewis' racing career, I realized that he absolutely *had* to be on his best behavior 100% of the time. I knew a bunch of people like that growing up in the states. Their parents would teach them to be super calm headed, never raise their voice or their firsts, never curse, and always dress well and hold you head up high. Their parents would say something like "There are shitty people in the world, and they'll use any ammunition they can find to throw at you. So you better not give them any. "
So in the end yeah, everything Lewis says is probably rehearsed and fake. But it's not because he's being manipulative or shitty. It's because he legitimately feels like he has to be on a constant vigilant guard against people who will use any misbehavior against him.
I mean honestly, can you imagine how shitty twitter would have been if Lewis was the one hitting Bottas upside the head in one of his first few seasons? We would see nothing but racial nonsense. And quite frankly, that's insane.
It must be hard being Lewis. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to always have some layer on top that you're trying to protect in order to protect yourself from racism.
Good on him, and good on the rest of the grid for last year's efforts.
EDIT: Thanks for front page and all the rewards. #EndRacism.
He currently has 100 poles in 1039 F1 events
