This is the Giant Pacific Octopus. It's the largest known species of octopus and also the most intelligent one. They also get a lot older than it's relatives, being able to reach an age of up to 5 years old in the wild.

how giant pacific octopus might be better than you think

alright so most people agree that GPO and JSC are going to be underpowered. but i think that GPO has potential so here are my points as usual

  1. teleport. now here is the main reason why people think GPO will be bad. and tbh i can see why they think that. removing the ability to dash on a non-tank animal is harsh but on my next point i will show you how this might be a blessing in disguise

  2. poison cloud. when animals enter the cloud they get poisoned. so when an animal looks at you funny you use your charge boost. then when they enter the cloud like an absolute idiot then you can just swim away. and when they try to boost or swim away you can teleport in front of them dealing lots of damage.

now granted this strategy can be kinda counter by grab animals. but having 180 base damage is kinda crazy

Not all individual octopuses are the same. Scientists have documented different individual preferences among giant Pacific octopuses and others. Octopus are very intelligent and can learn to open jars, solve puzzles and interact with caretakers. [Largest on record was 600 pounds and 30 feet across.]

my Giant pacific Octopus concept, and clam concept

GPO:

tier: 10, evolves from Humboldt squid (or a tier 9 octo if one gets added).

Habitat: warm/cold, shallow/deep, salt

stats: HP mult: 9.5 (950), damage mult: 5.5 (110), speed mult: 60% (swims bad, like the crabs and frogfish) walk speed: 105%, AP: 50%, Bleed reduction: 50%. OT: 30, TT: 10, ST: 15, PT: 10, boosts: 2

passives:

can eat skeletons, hide in shipwrecks and and climb climbable props.

active:

uncharged: normal boost, but gives it +35% speed and lets you move normally during the normal boost and after for 4 seconds

charge boost: crush: normal boost but without the speed after, instead it starts a coil like anaconda's, however it does only 30 base damage. this damage is increased by 5 for every 10% of armor the target has (max of 80 damage). coiled enemies' PT will lower half as fast, and lowers OT half as fast as Anaconda's. you are also able to coil shells and skeletons, dealing 5% of their durability. the rest is the same in function.

clam:

tier: NPC, but technically tier 5 or 6 interms of stats.

habitat: warm/cold, shallow/deep, salt.

stats:

open: HP mult: 4.5 (450), Damage mult: 0, (can't attack), speed mult: 15%, WS: 25% (prefers not to move), OT: 20, TT: 5, PT: 5, ST: 15. armor: 30%, damage reflection: 20%, bleed reduction: 20%

closed: HP mult: 4.5 (450), Damage mult: 0, (can't attack), speed mult: 0, WS: 0, OT: 60, TT: 10, PT: 10, ST: 25. armor: 95%, damage reflection: 10%, bleed reduction: 15%

when attacked will close after 3 seconds, and will open again in 12. if stunned will lose 30% armor and any damage reflection. drops 4-7 meat on death

pufferfish, sea otter, walrus, and GPO, (along with no others that eat clams, that I may have forgotten/ not known of) all can see them with barrel eye vision. sea otter (if it has a rock), and pufferfish has 25% AP against them.
