How will Gestalt psychology explain academic cheating committed by a student?

I am writing a term paper, and I decided to explain academic cheating from the perspectives of structuralism, behaviorism, functionalism, and gestalt. My main premise is that structuralism will look into the contents that led to the thought of cheating and not into cheating itself as a conscious mental process.

For Gestalt, I am not very sure. I currently assume that it will not focus on the contents of the thought of cheating but on the thought of cheating as it occurs in the mind, as a mental process. My ideas are very limited in this part. And I am not very sure if my understanding is correct for Gestalt.

Gestalt psychology and schizoanalysis

Is there any overlap between gestalt psychology and schizoanalysis? The concept of figure and ground in gestalt psychology reminds me a lot of the white walls black holes chapter of a thousand plateaus. Gestalt psychology also focuses on the whole being more than the sum of its parts which seems to have some similarities with assemblage theory.

Reading suggestion for Gestalt-therapy and existentialist-humanist psychology

Hi!
I'm a PGY-1 resident in psychiatry with an interest in gestalt-therapy and I would like read more about it before starting my formal psychotherapy training. I wish to deepen my skill in that field and seize opportunities to have clinical supervision during my PGY-2 to 4.

What are the must-read in your knowledge?

An aid in building ritual magic systems: Gestalt Psychology

I've always found it a little disappointing that modern fantasy has reduced magic into nothing more than a fancy gun with manna bullets - just pull the trigger and it shoots.

For those who desire more meat in their magical diet, I would suggest reading a bit on [gestalt psychology] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_Similarity#Pr.C3.A4gnanz) and the laws of contagion, similarity, symbolism, and attraction.

Such study may be an invaluable aid to the development of a ritual magic system which requires verbal, material and somatic components for magic to function properly.

For example: Using the Law of Contagion a magic user can link a person and their personal items, allowing for spells to locate the person. Using the Law of Sympathy, they can create a "voodoo doll" to torture their victim. The Law of Symbolism allows exploitation of symbolic links in appearance, design and attribute - allowing that which glitters to become gold, or the skin of a wolf which allows shape changing.

The inclusion of such principals in your magical foundations can produce additional benefits in world building as well. The necessity of material and symbolic components will create a market and a history - feathers of a gryphon may be highly prized for spells of flight, dragon scales for enchanting armor, lizard tails for healing and regeneration. An enchanted sword may retain the skill of the wielder and be passed from generation to generation, becoming ever more powerful.

As of today the American empirical and statistical Psychology is taught in most universities, but what do you guys learn about the β€žAufbaukrieseβ€œ Karl BΓΌhler, Wilhelm Wundt, Sigmund Freud? The latter, Sigmund Freud, isn’t regarded as a scientific Psychologist at all (in vienna, his birthplace that’s bitter), i wonder what you guys learn at your university about all that

But the probes did not mind. They were built to be vigilant.

While they may only have been semi-sapient, each one KNEW that its task was of vital importance.

That the lives of not just their creators, but all sapients, depended on them.

Link to part 1.

Link to part 2.

Link to part 3.

8: AUDIO TRANSCRIPT

  • Valdor begins by responding to Kandawire's questions of when the incident took place (twenty six years ago), and where (it's "classified"). He follows by revealing that Custodians have perfect recall from the point of their ascension, but if even if he did not, he could never forget the events of the day.
    • We as readers know that what he is about to describe is the Chaos incursion that led to the Scattering of the Primarchs. Valdor seems almost traumatized by the event:

>It is burned on my mind like a brand. I see the events of it in my sleep. Even when waking, the sensation is never far away.
>
>[What sensation?]
>
>Of falling. Falling through a hole in the universe, unable to catch at the edges. Now I see you smiling again. It is the truth. I have never considered myself an artful user of language.

  • Even for one such as Valdor, events touched by Chaos have a profoundly unsettling effect. This is not the first time he has expressed such sentiment, as in his last interview with Kandawire, his description of the Maulland Sen campaign felt much the same.
  • Valdor continues:

>I was with the Sigillite. The Lord Malcador. We were discussing the very thing you raised with me. You will recall my concerns about the Cataegis during the Maulland Sen campaign. Those concerns had not gone away during the following century of their many deployments. We had conquered much of the globe by then, with the Thunder Warriors bearing the brunt of the fighting, so do not think we were unmindful of their sacrifice. By then, it was widely believed that what could have been perfected, had been perfected. A Thunder Warrior was a truly fearsome proposition. They were armed and armoured nearly as well as the Legio Custodes. Their numbers had grown rapidly, following improvements in the gene-cultivating methods used here and at the other sites.
>
>But it was never enough. They remained unstable. From primarch to neophyte, they would break down suddenly, or lose their minds, or simply stop responding to orders. ***This was not simply a matter of dry

Shiprelations Chapter 5: 24hr Coin Diplomat

Greybead’s scales had gone milky, their stressed body preparing to shed. β€œWe are in so much trouble.”

Roughbutton stood before a gallery of projected holographic heads, experts in artificial intelligence and machine psychology specialists, entreating them with long hooking motions of her claws. β€œWhy is this happening? Someone must have some idea by now! We’ve already halted deployment but we've already finished deployment on fifteen ships!”

An arachnoid species adjusted a light-polarizing plate over their eight eyes while waving a furry foreleg, the shape briefly flashing through the projection of their head. β€œIs it something the humans are doing on purpose? They do love to disable safety features and exceed sane limits on everything we’ve given them, from engines to waste management technology.”

The collected experts hissed, coughed, and grunted in general consensus.

Roughbutton struck the floor with her tail, producing a light thump in the mild gravity of Fidecki, current seat of the Confluence’s ruling bodies. β€œRecords show no human has entered the brain-bays of the ships barring one, so direct intervention isn’t the cause.”

A thin, moist-looking four-eyed specimen the system labeled as Nunh’nchal spoke up. β€œRepresentative, this is just a guess at this point, but this is the first time personality seeds have been used in the presence of a human crew, correct?”

Roughbutton consulted a tablet for a moment before nodding. β€œThat’s right. Standard AI packages were deemed suitable early on, after some language-training and so forth.”

Noon swallowed. β€œWe designed the seeds to work with personalities we’re accustomed to. Human personalities can be overwhelming in comparison. The simple ego required to survive on a deathworld is astounding, not to mention one allowing an individual to compete and survive among fellow deathworlders.”

Roughbutton pinned her chin between both sets of foreclaws, eyes squeezed shut. β€œTechnician, what are you saying? That we’ve essentially infected our AIs with human personalities?”

Noon shrugged, and tried to smile. β€œIt’s actually endearing at times. Terrifying at others. Just like humans themselves, really.”

β€œYesss, but your typical human doesn’t have moon-annihilating arsenals of weaponry wired directly to their nervous system! As far as I can tell, humans can’t copy their brains into enemy ships and build their own fleets, or--” she paused as Greybead miserably handed her another tablet, β€œβ€”or initiate first contact wit

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
