German Expressionism: anyone know this painting?

Hi, a few years ago I used a painting in a project for a college class. I can’t remember the name of that painting and I can’t find the project, but I really liked the painting and would love to find it again. I’ve spent hours searching the internet with no luck.

Here’s a description: It’s a German expressionistic painting, probably from the Weimar Republic era. It’s of a woman sitting alone at a table and I think she may be resting her chin on her hand. She has short, dark hair and there are some objects on the table, like maybe a vase of flowers. She’s positioned on the right hand side of the painting. For an expressionist painting, it looks a bit more realistic, but the colors and style are very characteristic of German expressionism. I thought it might be an Ernst Ludwig Kirchner but so far I can’t find anything similar among his work. Any help is very much appreciated, thanks!

Howdy y'all. I currently went back to highschool to finish my SACE (last two years) and am doing visual art. For my German Expressionism I chose this piece. Very happy with it. I used the colour palette of the arm holding scene. reddit.com/gallery/ie8s8k

The Cabinet of Dr Caligari and German Expressionism- mise-en-scene

Among the genre of silent film, and perhaps even any other genre, German expressionism seems to have aged the least, perhaps because so many of its foremost directors and minds came to America to perfect the Hollywood aesthetic of film noir. Although German Expressionism was short-lived, dating from the dawn of the Weimar Republic in 1919, who gave state-of-the-art equipment to the magnificent film conglomerate of UFA in an attempt to revitalize the film industry thus creating a new image for Germany, to the ascension of Hitler, who sought to destroy the genre, believing it to be a revolt against the traditional values that made Germany great, in 1933, it was certainly memorable, both as a piece of cultural and social context, reflecting the alienation and disillusion of post-war Germany, and as the founder of noir and the genre of horror.

And so, that Caligari is said to be the prime example of this movement, and one of the most influential, it is very impressive. Weine's film has often been cited as the epitome of the style in which not only the characters but the world itself is out-of sync. Although no other film of that period, or even since the year of 1920, has such unique and memorable mise-en-scene, which I shall discuss at a later point, you can see the attitude and themes echoed clearly in such iconic films as Nosferatu, M. and even Fritz Lang's sci-fi masterpiece Metropolis- such was the artistic and critical success of Caligari; after all it does hold a 100%, certified fresh, on the tomatometer, which is a feat unto itself.

But regardless of it's Rotten Tomatoes score, it's a memorable and chilling flick. It's a masterpiece in visual film-making. Notwithstanding the musical score, haunting as it is, a clearly influence on Mica Levi's eerie violins from Under The Skin, films were a purely visual experience, at least until the talkies came along to change the game forever. And this is a truly unique and never-seen-before visual experience. There is something immediately striking about this world that Cesare and Dr Caligari inhabit. The first thing you notice is the bizarre look, with the radical distortions of the mise-en-scene setting the film apart from anything before it. At times, Weine's film feels as if it belongs in a altogether different universe, especially when presented in the restored German edition of the film in the new DVD release. Everything about the film is off-kilter.The stylized representation of a character's state of mind
