This is a letter to Gabe and the great team at Valve! (even though they might not read it)
Thank you for making Steam and what it is today! I am a member of Steam for 10+ Years now and I've come to realize that I've taken Steam for granted!
When I compare it to other platforms such as Origin, Uplay, Windows Store and so on, I realize more and more how polished and well thought out Steam is!
Just the other day I started Downloading Age of Empires IV on Windows Store as I have it via Game Pass and the download started really slow, and I had to cancel it twice thinking it has to do something with my computer, maybe the settings but no, the speed slowly ramps up from 5mbps avg to ~750mbps which took around 15 Minutes. (I have 1gbps internet)
While on Steam all it took is 30 seconds and it's done, I am already at full speed downloading a 70GB game in less than 30 minutes. and it took me longer to download on other platforms.
Not to mention the Community even after 10 years it's still active and people are there to help you with anything, Discussions and Artwork and more just to name a few!
Achievements are great to have for people who strive to get them all and showoff, trading is also on another level that I don't think any other platform will reach for a long time!
All and all I just wanted to say Thank you Gabe and the Team, you guys are doing awesome and I am very happy where Steam is today and where it might be in the future!
Gaben is probably one of the most famous video game pioneers, and he is definitely a must for ERB.
Boogie should be the one to play him, since he is a big fan of Gaben and knows a lot about gaming.
