A list of puns related to "Essential tremor"
I'm a nurse with <1 year of experience. I've tried working psych, med surg, and the OR. Due to traumatic events, I developed a tremor. It's effected my ability to keep my hands stable. I CANNOT draw blood, start an IV, or give injections. I've even dropped meds while drawing them and while giving them to a patient. I've been in therapy and have tried multiple drugs to help. Nothing really works. It's not a big deal to me if it doesn't go away. But, I'm afraid I can't work as a nurse.
With my lack of experience and disability, do I have any job options?
I was wondering how to be medically diagnosed with this and has anyone been and could tell me how the process went for you, were there any difficult steps that you faced?
On a few podcasts now Ethan has remarked that A.B's hands are shaky. A.B hasn't been very vocal about it (I think he's mentioned it once in passing but I'm not sure) but he has an essential tremor. In the Silent Library ep Ethan says "bro why are your hands so shaky". This commonly affects your hands and sometimes vocal chords, as it does with AB. It can affect different parts of the body. In my case it makes it not easy to use my phone.
Anyway it's not a very serious condition but on a bad day it can make you feel much worse about yourself. Ethan has Tourettes and I'm sure he'd be very understanding and conscientious if it was made a bit more explicit to him.
Im not hating on Ethan or anything, he just doesn't know.
Edit: This was really only intended as a gentle reminder from the perspective of someone who struggles from ET sometimes. A lot of people seem to think I'm white knighting and specifically targeting AB because of his character. I just thought I'd drop a post on the sub because it's something I hear very often said to me and has nothing to do with ABs personality. I've absolutely no doubt Ethan is an amazing employer. Anyway big ups the crew if they see this.
Hi everyone,
How has essential tremor impacted on your dating life? Have you been rejected because of it? Please include your age and gender.
Thank you!
Hi. Very upset right now because what I thought was anxiety has now been going on for a month. Every time I have to do a task that involves stimulation like going to the supermarket or talking to someone, I get shivers in my head. Today after driving it was horrible and I had to rest my head against a chair because if I held it against gravity it was shaking violently, I got some alcohol from the supermarket and when I was speaking to the lady checkiing my ID an intense tremor went through my head. I notice it happened every time. Itβs so god damn embarrassing. Now Iβm noticing that Iβm shivering even when Iβm not anxious or doing anything particularly stimulating itβs kind of always there. Itβs been causing headaches and weird movements in my neck and I hear cracking. Itβs embarrassing and Iβm very worried that itβs ET since this is a disease that just gets worse and itβs in my HEAD. My mum has it, but only in her hands and as a nurse she always gets complaints. Has anyone here experienced this too? Or something similar with head tremors? Iβm going to the doctor as soon as possible

Is this typical for essential tremor, or likely to be something else?
Specifically fine tremors when bending limbs like in the video. I'm trying to determine whether I have essential tremor, or just plagued by chronic anxiety. Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it!
She's had essential tremors ever since she was a child but these got a lot worse recently due to anti-depressants.
She still loves video games though. Any good ones she could still play where aim is not that crucial?

I have seen several other posts here regarding facial twitching in social situations. However, I do not experience the twitching when smiling in the mirror or with close relatives or friends. However, my cheeks on my face twitch when I make a smile when greeting other people. It seems anxiety induced and has put me into a terrible loop where I can feel the twitch coming on, I get nervous, and it exacerbates the problem.
I have tried lexapro, vitamin D, and other supplements with mixed results. Magnesium, omega 3, and vitamin B have not seemed to help. Propranolol is helpful sometimes, and not other times. Alcohol is an effective fix for the issue after I have two drinks. The only medical effects I have are a high blood pressure rate for a young adult, sort of low vitamin D, and I noticed when I wake up my cheeks seem flushed/red/puffy. I can often tell how my face feels in the morning how my facial twitches are going to play out that day. For example, if I can feel my cheeks when I smile and they seem weak/susceptible to twitching. Lexapro has worked on a few occasions where I can nearly feel the tension on my cheeks completely evaporate.
Given that this only happens in social situations, can it be ET? Is there likely any fix for this problem? I used to have mild social anxiety but now it is more pronounced. It usually happens when greeting new strangers or groups and saying goodbye. Sometimes I become so self aware that it begins to happen mid conversation. It has been happening for about a year now after having an embarrassing experience with muscle twitching which created this negative feedback loop.
Iβd like to add, I have had strange random nose twitching near the top of my nose that has occurred when Iβm not interacting socially. It feels like my nose is pulsating when it occurs and has been on and off the past month
I'm really wanting to give oil painting a try but I really struggle not having anything to support my hands. I would appreciate some tips before I order all the stuff I need :)
Iβm considering trying Botox for my essential tremor that mainly affects my voice. Has anyone tried this? What are your experiences?
So I might have them so I decided yo ask dome questions
(It is barley visible to people other then myself)So when I move my finger side to side sometimes like slowly it tremors and when I put my hand on the a table/ bed then rotate it slowly to the right it tremors and it happens on the both sides of my body and I tried doing the closing and opening and as I did it slowly my tremors were getting worse and I tried holding a glass of water infront of me my hand had jerks like it had a bad tremor for 1-3 secs then stops then it happens again then it stops then again it keeps happening but If I'm drinking normally it is not there and when I write I have no problems I'm also 14 no family history I'm sure my parents don't have it I'm not sure if it got worse or not but if I had to guess it probably got worse it all started in August 2021 and as I did finger to nose test on my own the finger tremor started to get worse I'm scared this is Et
Background: I'm a 40 y/o white woman living in the United States. I've been diagnosed with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (treatment started in February 2021) and fibromyalgia (dx 2004/2005). The symptoms I mention here began prior to starting any of the medications I'm currently on. My rheumatologist says my neuromuscular symptoms are unrelated to rheumatoid arthritis. The immunosuppressants I'm on for RA have no affect on my neuromuscular symptoms.
My neurologist says it might not be autoimmune related and we have to look at other potential causes. So far, based on imaging, my doctor ruled out multiple sclerosis.
For over 4 years I've been experiencing muscle fasciculations. It started with muscle tension & quivers in my upper right thigh but quickly spread throughout my body (arms, legs & face). It happens daily, several times a day, often for hours at a time. It is more noticeable when I'm at rest and seems to be exacerbated by stress. Muscle relaxants I've been prescribed don't work whatsoever.
Recently, I noticed I have developed an essential tremor, primarily a slight raising of my chin followed by a "no-no' head shake. Around the same time as the essential tremor began, I also noticed I started experiencing middle ear myoclonus in my left ear. The muscles in my ear twitch, sounding like a bug fluttering in my ear canal. I've been using ear plugs to provide counterpressure to the muscles when it gets too annoying. The muscles twitching in my ear continues, though, and I still hear the dull fluttering.
My hands and feet occasionally twist in and up. If I concentrate hard enough I can stop this action, but as soon as I get distracted it starts up again. I also have a positive Babinski sign.
I had an EMG which showed inflammation at the nerve root. I had a 3 day EEG, but I haven't received the results of that yet. I have an MRI of my lumbar region scheduled for next month. My neurologist said that after that test is performed our next step is a muscle biopsy.
I have muscle weakness and pain as well as periods of confusion which I've attributed to the rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. I have difficulty walking (shuffling gait) but this is primarily due to the RA, fibromyalgia, and recovering from a broken leg (April 2020).
Any ideas as to what might be going on here?
EDIT: I received the results of the EEG. I'm apparently having frontal lobe wave spikes that correspond with the diffuse fasciculations. The doctor said it

Iβve been on topamax 25mg for just over two weeks now, Iβm seeing my family dr this wednesday for a follow up. I have seemed to have developed the βshakesβ or tremors, along side a handful of the other serious side effects from topamax. I donβt believe its working for me, the nausea is unbearable. Ive been told that essential tremors and migraines are relatedβ¦ altough in my case idk what is causing what.
My migraines are worse now, with nausea, and im getting episodes where I almost dissociate, and it feels like im trapped in my body, while I get the tremors and it hurts my head. Idk if they are some kind of absence seizures or essential tremors. My visual auras are even more disturbing than usual (migraine aura and prodrome) and Iβm struggling to sleep.
Anyone have similar experience with topamax? Ive heard many success stories for long term chronic migraine prevention. What other preventative medications are there that maybe are effective but have less serious side effects ? If youve made it this far thanks for any help!
I've had my trusty intuos 4 (PTK-440) for about 11 years; it's running perfectly fine and I haven't experienced any issue with it. I'm running Windows 10 and can't upgrade to 11 due to system requirements.
My issue isn't with the wacom device/software, but I have a health condition that causes a tremor in my hands. It's been manageable for years up until the last few months, but now the shakiness of my hands has started to effect my ability to use the tablet.
I don't have Parkinson's Disease, but the tremor I have is kind of like a mild version of a Parkinson's tremor (just as a point of reference) -- I was wondering if anyone here has suggestions for settings I can adjust that might help with this? I've never really had an understanding of the tablet property personalization beyond just monkeying around and finding what works, so I'm not sure if there is a pen pressure customization I could alter or if I need to figure something else out like a mod extension, etc.
I primarily use painttool sai and have found the pen stabilizer feature in the program unhelpful. I'm open to suggestions for other art programs if need be.
Many thanks :)

I AM DENTAL STUDENT AT SECOND STAGE AT DENTISTRY , I AM HAVING ESSENTIAL TREMOR . it is not effect on my daily life works , but I afaid it would make me problems in next stage . I have visited dr , he gave me Propanol 10gm. And said it would be okay but i don't trust in him Any advice for me ? Thanks
(Please skip this story if you want Tldr)
(20m) I'm gonna skip the "I've been dreaming about being a ranger my whole life" bullshit, cause its corny as fuck and you don't want to hear that. There was a point in time where I did online schooling and had no friends and my mom neglected me for years and my dad who has Huntington's disease could barely talk to me. The HD my dad has a 50% of being passed down to me, I was a fatass, and obviously any kid with no one to talk to would try to find someway to help yourself out when I received counseling for 1 and half to 2 years, and it just felt good to talk to someone after all those years of isolation. I was a very pathetic edgy kid who craved attention and pity from others and loved feeling like a victim.
I have been diagnosed with Social Anxiety, Depression, and Essential Tremors. I was put on anti-depressants but I really wanted to get off it because my depression was situational (I will get that updated) and I felt like it was pointless because I was feeling better on my own, but my doctor wanted me to stay on it for at least a year and so I did. After the doctors permission I went off the meds because he thought I would do fine without them. I was on anti-depressants and propanol for one year, and did not need propanol because my tremors were mild at worst I have less shaky hands then most people I know. I stopped seeing 1 year and I could have stopped way earlier. I got clearance from both my doctor who diagnosed me and got retested for essential tremor and was showing no symptoms so they cleared me.
I'm not trying to make myself sound like bobby big dick or anything but I just didn't want to be some lazy endlessly procrastinating asshole so I got in shape, and work at a high stress job were I'm constantly working and interacting with people. I've been off the meds for almost 3 years now and feel better than I ever have before. What are my chances of getting in as 11b and then trying out at rasp.
Tldr for people who don't care
I've been taking care of my dad ever since I was 14 because he can barely walk without falling over and eat with choking and eventually he'll be a vegetable, and I would be lying if I said it didn't affect me watching the man I look up slowly wilting away.(Huntington's Disease). I was diagnosed with Depression, Social Anxiety, and Essential Tremors. I received counseling for 1-2 years and was on Anti-depressants and propanol for almost 1 year exactly. I have been off both of th

Iβm not sure if this has been posted here before, but if anyone like me was worried about an essential tremor ending their chosen career in the trades or any handy work, Iβd recommend watching this video.
Not sure if itβll help anyone but it helped calm my nerves about it. Figured itβs worth a try. He can barely keep a chisel still but keeps going.
All paperwork has been finalized and sent up to MEPS for a medical waiver for Essential Tremor for the Army, this is my second go at it. I was medically disqualified for this for the Marine Corps. if there is any advice out there thatβs been through this and actually got in, itβs helpful to know.
So I've meet quite a bit of people who have this twitch in their cheeks when thry smile forcing their smile to go down I currently have tremors a kinetic tremor that Is im sure and I also appear to have this problem im nor diagnoi yet but I highly doubt that its not essential tremor I don't take energy drinks and this tremor started by itself and I got anxious because of course leaving that behind is rhis twitch in the smile a symptoms? I haven't seen it be classified as one the Gp claimed its because because of weak face muscles but how? I always smile alot my gace muscles shouldn't be weak I tried working them out nothing changed can you guys give me an advice on what it might be I've heard it can be triggered by anxiety but I'm not that anxious anymore just a bit of course trying to get on with it did you guys have it when you developed anxiety? Or before
Hello! My name is Ally and I am a current Biomedical Engineering student at Georgia Tech. Alongside a group of three other Biomedical Engineering students, I am working to design a device that will help people with Essential Tremor mitigate the effects of their hand tremors. Right now, we are looking to gather information about how hand tremors affect the daily lives of people with ET, as well as about therapeutic ET devices and their effectiveness. If you are willing, please fill out the following short survey and help us to learn more about your lived experience with ET. This feedback will be immensely helpful in our efforts to design a device that will best serve the ET community.
