Entamoeba coli Puns

After years of suffering with various digestive problems and mental symptoms, I finally got tested for parasites. I tested + for entamoeba coli cysts/trophozoites. According to the CDC, a lot of people have these and it generally causes no symptoms. But my doctor + an infectious disease he consulted + a doctor I consulted out-of-state who talks about men in my community (LGBT) are often misdiagnosed ALL told me that taking metronidazole would be a good idea.

I'm very scared of taking antibiotics. I've had severe digestive problems for the last several years and after a weed induced panic attack last year, I have been experiencing severe anxiety/OCD bordering on psychosis (delusional thinking, paranoia). Then again, maybe it's not psychosis - I have not been diagnosed with this as I always snap out of it but I'm deathly afraid of psychosis and one of the OCD fears that manifested after the panic attack was a fear of schizophrenia. I cannot currently seem to access those fears (OCD/anxiety are lower at the moment), but I am very depressed, low energy and passive. I was also, until recently severely D deficient. One of the potential (low risk) side effects of metronidazole is psychosis.

I was hoping I could get feedback from you all about this. My depression is pretty bad right now. I am not currently taking other MAOIs (metronidazole is thought to cause psychosis through this mechanism). I take Lthenanine and Nac, along with Vitamin D, multi, and B, with magnesium at night.

The doc I consulted also recommended taking S.Boulardii during and Vsl#3 afterward. I would take metronidazole for 10 days.

Should I take metronidazole or try something more natural? Papaya seeds? Lol
