A list of puns related to "Demesne"
What is the difference and how do you form them and who is best to form them
I'm playing Esthil and i think i've delayd the formation of the relevant countries for a long time. It's almost 1700. What should've been a good ime to form Black Demesne to have time to do their missions?
Iβm relatively new to the mod, and want to try a Esthil into Black Demesne play through. What ideas or other build options are recommended? Thanks!
A vampire lich king would be lit lmao
So I recently did a Esthil into Black Demesne game, and while it was a lot of fun I want to restart the campaign as I think I can do the early game a lot better.
I was thinking of doing it with Covenblad as the Black Demesne seems a lot more into all flavours of magic than just necromancy and having an immortal Lich leader (Esthil mission tree sort of makes this unavoidable) seems like you'll miss out on some of the Acolyte drama that comes with who'll rule when the current leader dies.
But since I like to keep to the spirit of the nation I play, Covenblad seem a bit 'good' to go full Black Demesne. Since they don't have a mission tree outside of the normal adventurers ones, it's hard to get a read on them.
Edit: Since I don't want to make a second post, I'll toss this question in here :D Does anyone know if the movement buff from "The Stitchworks" mission for Esthil applies across all provinces, or is it just for units made at that particular province? Cheers
Was rereading the Demesnes Extra Materials (6.5) for V's ritual, and came across this passage:
Trinette is a technomancer, specializing in a film and video setup that allows her to take snapshots of areas and transpose them to new locations, dropping a room, corridor, or other environment into a location with a camera flash and extensive precautions.Β She claims a Demesne in part to have a failsafe, a place to retreat to should something go wrong and she find herself in a situation such as a corridor with nothing to connect to on either end.
Did Cleo the psycho Witchhunter nab her and take the camera?
In my Esthil game I've gotten to the end of the esscan wars with over 100 provinces and a witch king. Rogeria controls the other half. They get the event that the war has ended and the event "Dominate in Esscan will happen in 1 day. It never does for either of us
Hello, I am doing my first Black Demesne playthrough and finished the mission that should start constructing the Pillars. But after completing the mission, none of the provinces give any indication that anything is being built there. I own Leviathan. Am I doing something wrong? Should I directly own every province? Should every province be in a state? Please help.
Iβm aware that esthil and Ravenmarch can form it but can others like the Blademarches, Stalbor, Luciande, or Castellyr?
I was just curious, what is the bare minimum size a lich needs to build their demesne if they want to retain a semblance of mental soundness? Alustin claims that a βfortressβ is the smallest, but that term can theoretically describe anything from a small outpost castle to Kaer Morhen from the Witcher series. Is there any kind of rough minimum volume of material that is required?
First of all, to get the definitions out of the way, I'll refer to the MW dictionary:
Tenebrae: a church service observed during the final part of Holy Week commemorating the sufferings and death of Christ
Demesne: 1: legal possession of land as one's own; 2: manorial land actually possessed by the lord and not held by tenants
So, thanks to having seen some of the map, we know at least one larger domain is called the "Tenebrae Demesne". If we assume this is one of the six "kingdoms" of the game, then this is likely the one ruled by Godrick and includes the region of Limgrave and more (the out-of-bounds >!Weeping Peninsula!< is also likely to be part of it). The thing is - is there anything we can speculate about regarding this domain as of now? What implications does its naming have? As Tenebrae originally refers to a church service that celebrates the agony and perishing of Christ, could it perhaps imply that something similar is happening there as well? Does it refer to something or someone specific (perhaps the one portrayed on the painting at Stormveil, likely Godrick's father, has perished and the inhabitants of the Tenebrae Demesne are in mourning) or the domain as a whole (we can see crucified bodies littering the landscape of Limgrave, or perhaps the land itself is somehow suffering?)? Food for thought.
Sorry, I know this topic I am about to go into may not be related to Signora. But I want to share this regrading about Childe. So far, there has been no mention of Signora from Childe from this quest...however without being attacked by Childe simps by saying this-I feel safer speaking this out within this community since most of you guys have not forgotten the fact that Childe is technically a bad guy.
Well...I'm disappointed with this quest story so far. I'm tired of Genshin throwing away "Childe is a bad guy" out the window and ruins his character even more by being all "friendly" with xinyan after like, fucking hell??? he attempted to drown her fucking hometown! I'm not sure why this character Childe is so inconsistent or why they keep forcing his character to be good. Poor Xinyan too, she been lied too! Like, am I the only one who thinks Genshin is trying so freaking hard to excuse his actions back in Liyue? Or tucking his criminal act as a fucking fatui under a rug?? When did we EVER hear him apologizing for his actions?? It's just so painful to see his character being butchered and fucked up like this. It's like they turned him into "hey I know tried to kill millions and I don't regret it but I hope we can still be friends" that sort of BS.
This may seem a bit too soon to make assumptions since we have three more parts of the story quest left-but it's already started off a bad foot with Childe. I'm just ranting so please do not be all hostile as I'm just sharing my frustration with this character. I love Childe and I love him as a villain and I'm already crushed how Genshin killed off my favorite character SIgnora, and now this. They really butchered Childe this time with this quest. I don't think I can enjoy genshin now they ruined two of my only favorite characters. what I hate and am most annoyed by the most is, how these childe simps keep going about how he's so nice and loving with his siblings and all that BS, like okay that doesn't EXCUSE anything or any of his actions! Or going about Childe going through a redemption arc..what redemption arc?? show me where he said sorry or choose to betray the fatui.

I'm fucking pissed. Title says it fucking all.
So, there I was, in my hard-earned Demesne, inherited from my family, but one I earned and defended with my own two hands, feet, blood sweat and tears.
It's mine, and I earned it as much as anyone who claimed it themselves did. Just the size of a small house, not super high-tier as the big families, but a respectable one in a nice well-enough upscale suburban neighborhood.
So, there I was that night, just me and few of my circle just relaxing in there, playing a bit of CoD, and getting a bit drunk and high too. We earned that laidback time too, fuck yeah.
Then, somewhere sometime pretty late in the night, we heard some knocking, us who were still awake, that is. We already got our pizza, and none of us felt like getting to the door, so we didn't feel like getting up. There were voices, but we didn't care, we were in my Demesne, where it was supposed to be safe.
Then, the fucking door got blown off it's whole hinges. Fucking chaos and screaming, there were voices and yelling and screaming, thought we were under attack. They were coming in through the front, through the back, through the motherfuckin windows, there was smoke and flashbangs and screaming and yelling, fuck it all happened to so fucking fast.
We fucking panicked, I'll admit, but how fucking else would we react when the one place we though we'd be safe turned out wasn't?!
There was yelling and people and bodies moving around, we were drunk and high and afraid and decided to fight back. Shot were fired, tried to throw some spells and gobbos at them, but we got the shit kicked out of us and got pinned down. Took a bullet to the shoulder, I fucking did. Some of my buds were shot. Got killed. Fuck.
Felt like it was going for hours, but might've really been only a few minutes. When we came to, those who were still left and around to be kicking, cuffs were on us all, and we finally got a good fucking look at our visitors.
And it was the motherfuking police. The fuck SWAT team, to be exact.
For those who haven't been on the internet that long, "Swatting" is when some fucking loser jackass decides to call up the fucking boys in blue that there's some serious fuckery going on at some place, maybe some sick serial murdering or hostage shit, some Innocent criminal stuff all to get the fucking boys with the big guns to break in and fuck up the place.

... keep reading on reddit β‘I'm the Fylkir of the reformed Asatru faith. The Jomsvikings didn't reform with me - OK fine, disappointing but I get that it's working as intended.
But now every so often I get that event where they raid my demesne and unless I win a martial challenge I lose a bunch of control in one of my counties. I'm big and powerful enough that it's not a huge pain - a mosquito bite really - but it's hugely annoying.
Is there any way to prevent this happening? I know I can force the Holy Order to disband by taking every one of their holdings - but there's a whole bunch of Old Asatru counties and rulers scattered through Russia and that will be a huge pain when I'm currently focusing on dismantling the Catholic world.
Any advice? Or do I just have to bite the bullet and conquer Russia?
EDIT: So I discovered that one of my counties had a city which was still leased to the Jomsvikings. Unfortunately, because the city was owned by the mayor, and not me, I couldn't expel them. Gifting the mayor the county and then revoking it meant I also revoked the city holding, and could then expel them. But this is a ridiculous workaround. Hopefully this fixes the rampant raiding.
Paradox pls fix.
Never used this card before and I dont have the upgrade card pack. But she doesnt have the auto refresh symbol in ryan kingstons so doe this me she doesnt untap once used?
When you zoom out on the map, this name appears. My Latin is super rusty, so I need some help with it.
Tenebrae = darkness, obviously. Demes = land? Demere = sweep, withdraw, subtract? -ne = not?
The Undark Lands? Darkness Never Withdraws?
Edit: Itβs a translation of Stormveil Kingdom. Iβm playing in English, so Iβm guessing thatβs a bug.

It seems to be different from the Fallen Demesne and the lore around the city implies it's magically hidden and was for a thousand years until the Daughters of Sora Kell showed up. Is this place meant to truly be "lost" unless you have the magical abilities to find it?
OOC: The story behind this post can be found here.
Hey OMO, I'm in the unfortunate position of having to claim my Demesne way before I'm ready (long story involving local politics, arguably my fault). I've been slowly building trust, respect, and/or deals with local spirits and Others for years, with the idea that I'd eventually claim my Demesne with minimal objections. But that process isn't nearly done yet, so I'm going to have challengers for sure. Pretty dangerous ones, I'd imagine. Iβve written up a few notes on suspected challengers, but Iβm sure there are more that I donβt know about.
I'd love to pull some of the nonviolent Demesne rituals I've read about. Challenge them with, I dunno, a race, or a pinball match, or something I'm good at. But a lot of the local Others are more like wild animals than anything else, and I can't see them being bound by the rules of any challenge more complex than literal combat. And I have my tricks, but when it comes down to it, I'm not a combat Practitioner. To make matters worse, my Claim is strong over the unclaimed, but tends to wilt when contested directly.
Plus, I donβt legally own the land. Itβs owned by a government zoning agency of which I am technically a member, and for which I do volunteer work related to land maintenance. Between that and the goodwill Iβve built up with the local minor spirits, it seems that Iβm currently karmically fine. But even if I do manage to claim this Demesne, thereβs still nothing preventing said agency from selling the land at some point in the future, which would be disastrous. So I should figure out some way to get legal property rights, on top of all this.
In other words, I'd really appreciate some indirect help, just for one night. I know things are stacked against me, but I have to try my hardest. Let me know if you have something that you think would help with this and you'd be willing to trade to me or lend me for a few days! In case it's relevant, I work with a lot of minor spirits and echoes, a lot of machines and vehicles and gasoline, a lot of used and broken and forgotten things. My approach is⦠a weird blend of alchemy and shamanism, to put it simply. I'm not sure what I'll have left after the Demesne ritual is over so I don't want to promise specific items in return, but I can offer my servi
... keep reading on reddit β‘Is it possible? If it was I'm guessing it would need to be an implement-demesne but what implement would be the most suitable?
Edit: By hijack, I mean could the practitioner incorporate a demesne they took from another into their own.
We know that itβs impossible for a lich to leave their demesnes, for the same reason that itβs impossible for a person to leave their own bodies. But we know that itβs possible for very powerful mages like Ilinia to conjure and project their power and senses across vast distances, like when Ilinia creates her storm giant against Bakori from across the desert.
Is there anything that would prevent a lich from being able to do something similar? Could Zophor, for example, create some kind of mobile, remote-control mangrove tree-monster similar to Iliniaβs storm giant and send it beyond his demesne? π€ Or does lich magic just work differently from that of non-liches in that respect?
I reckon it has something to do with the Duke's being a past Arisen, but what exactly would happen if a Pawn were to enter his demesne?
Ironcap Areqebuiser are much much better. they can't seem to hit anything standing infront even at close range .. Whats wrong with them? any pointers ?
What is it and how can i play it?

I miss these threads so I'm going to try and make this game a regular thing (possibly every two weeks or a month) if people are interested.
Previous (similar) threads:
Make/justify/generate a Familiar game!
Justify your implement! (Game)
Make/justify/generate a Demesne Game!
(there were others that were sort of similar, but I these were the only recent ones I found that were definitely game threads)
