A list of puns related to "Combustor"
Sorry completely new to everything wood stove. But there's a pretty big crack in the grate looking thing under the catalytic converter. https://imgur.com/igsb578 and https://imgur.com/wjJj19R and https://imgur.com/a2yUO9l
I'm curious if it's okay to use this for the time being at the very least or if I should stop further usage until it can be replaced. Bonus: Is this easy to replace if so?
I have a Harman TLC 2000 coal/wood combo stove from the 90s. It's a decent stove, but I'd like to elongate burn times. Burning it low and slow leads to fast creosote build-up in my chimney, so I'm looking to retrofit it to be a catalytic stove. Its baffle design has two rectangular entry points (at the top of the chamber, one to the left and one to the right, both near the front). There's also a removable steel plate in the center that you can access by popping up the top of the stove and sliding the plate out.
My plan is to get catalytic converters which match the dimensions of the top left and right rectangular openings (2.25" x 6.75"). When I start the stove cold, I will remove the center bypass plate so it exhausts directly up the chimney until it's hot. I already have a thermocouple so I'll know when it reaches 500deg F (and the catalysts activate). The one downside I see is that I can't open the bypass plate without first opening the stove lid, so I wonder how much smoke will billow in for those 2 or 3 seconds before I can grab the plate to remove it (when stove is already underway). Has anybody done a retrofit before? Any advice?
Has anyone ever incorporated a wood stove catalytic combustor into their retort design to maximize the combustion of pyrolysis gases around the feedstock, rather than using an afterburner to clean up the gases exiting the chimney?
I'm getting crazy hot heat in the combustion chamber of my hearthstone heritage, and yet the firebox is a steady 400 degrees. I'm thinking I have an overactive combustor, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Is it something that will just work itself out over a cord of wood or so?
Edit and Solution! Turns out the temperature probe on the side of my stove should not directly touch the soapstone, but instead be about 1/8 - 1/4 inch pulled out. The heating soapstone was causing the probe to give false high temp readings. Thank you all who helped me with this!
Are the hot gases from a combustor of a jet engine exiting at subsonic or supersonic speeds?
Today's card is Biomass Combustors (#183):

Decrease any plant production 1 step. Increase your energy production 2 steps. -1 VP
My thoughts: A very cheap way to get energy production while also harming a bit of an opponent's ground game. If you can snatch a city spot with the energy production and a city card, it's fine to suffer the -1 VP.
Look: Old-fashioned blow-torch attached to the stock flamethrower's hose.
+On kill: Enemy drops a small gas canister that refuels your flamethrower by 20%.
+40% Larger flame particle spread.
-Does no damage to enemy Pyros.
-No airblast
-Mini-crits whenever it would normally crit
Anyone know any "rule of thumb" Mach numbers for this stage? This is for a turbojet flying at M=.85
Hello all!
In the framework of our capstone project, we have a combustor burning primarily hydrogen and other hydrocarbons. We have to size the apparatus, ie find its precise dimensions. We tried considering it a PFR but the very rapid rate of the reaction (combustion) produces a very small volume. Anyone has an idea how to size a burner? Or maybe a relation between the flowrate in the burner and its dimensions? Thanks in advance!
Just wondering if this is happening for anyone else. Or if someone can repeat it. 4 of them dropped for me when I was in there. As far as I know I don't have any quests that needs a drop from here. Wondering if I'm bugged and supposed to get something. It reminds me of the corsair down from dreaming city.

Killed him twice, with a partner, and both times hasn't completed the bounty. However, it counts as a lost sector and adventure completion so the worst part is, the heroic adventure disappears off the map. I can't select it again. I abandoned and repurchased, and still, the adventure is gone from my map. Anyone else have this problem?
Edit: I ran again with a friend who had the adventure, and again, it didnβt pop for me.
Edit: Last night it randomly popped up again on Mercury and I was able to select it. I completed it solo, and it DID finally check off the bounty and I was rewarded. I'd go back and give it a second look y'all. Thanks for posting your experiences here.
Edit: For all attempts, I was a hammer titan.
We stopped for 30 min before to try to fix it, we rode for another 15 min and now we're stopped again and they sent the crew over to try and fix it. Any idea how long this takes?? Sorry if this is not a good place to post this
Hey guys I suddenly had an urge to look into this topic. Could anyone here suggest some reading material based on this. Also if you've got links to papers or research hope you share.
Thanks in advance!!!!
Ran into a weird bug and wanted to see if anyone else is having similar issues. I picked up the weekly Spider bounty ("WANTED: COMBUSTOR VALUS") and completed it with a fireteam of 3 people. Strangely, only one of our fireteam members got credit for the completion while me and the other guy did not. This wouldn't be an issue if we could just do it again, however, the adventure icon on the minimap is gone now. I tried abandoning the bounty and purchasing it again but the minimap icon is still gone. Has anyone else seen this?
I completed it with other people and had bounty. It completed for everyone but me.
