Everyone knows the problem with 30fps... the lights... If you're like me, you watch FH YouTubers (Havok, Jondaliner) and see how their duels are more mixed up and read-based, and wish you could join in. Thats the playstyle this game was made for IMO and the playstyle I wanna play. But on 30fps the meta, or most common player you find is a hyper-spammer ( your raiders, orochis, highlanders) infact anyone with a chain light for that matter.
I'm not saying I don't come across mix-up-based players and have a good time, but the majority of people I meet are spamming lights and dodge attacks. Hell I come across players that will just stand in your face and spam lights until either you or them are looking at a respawn timer. I mean no defense whatsoever, just light spam.
Occasionally I can parry lights on a read or educated guess. But sometimes I can barely block them. So some other players counter this with their own lights and I-frame ridden dodge attacks. But as a warden main I don't have the option.
I've been playing warden for 30 reps. I know warden gets flack because of his simple yet super strong mixup pressure, but on 30fps he is a nightmare to play as against an army of light spam and 0 gb vulnerability dodge attacks.
This is my average duel as warden against a foe with dodge attacks and a long light chain.
I either open with a light or bash light.
begin to cast next bash or UB heavy but feint to anticipate a dodge attack.
Practically out of stamina already
the enemy dodge attacks but I parry, for another light and condition them to not dodge attack,
Then the light spam begins. I block a few, maybe even parry 1 to 2 with a good read and take my free heavy.
Either way it's a close battle. I begin to bash for the final hit and either carry through and get dodge attacked and lose or feint and get panic lighted by my opponent and lose. Most of the time I lose because on top of making good plays because I ate one to many lights.
This is all of my fights, but its an overwhelming majority and I'm just sick of it. I'm hoping I can move to new-gen and deal with light attacks better on 60fps and have fun with this game in a more meaningful way. Has anyone made the switch from 30-60 and had an improvement?
I'm just so sick of trying to play this game when it feels like a boardgame where my side of the board is chess, but my opponents is hungry hippos, and they're just smacking that hippos button as fast and hard as they can, and some how I'm losin
