With rising sea levels, Bangkok struggles to stay afloat. Currently, the capital "is sinking one to two centimetres a year. Seas in the nearby Gulf of Thailand are rising by four millimetres a year, above the global average.

Plants cry when they suffer stress or violence. New recordings reveal the sound of plants! Microphones placed 10 centimetres from the plants picked up sounds in the ultrasonic range of 20 to 100 kilohertz. Plants could even hear that other plants are short of water f.e. and may react accordingly.

Greenland ice sheet shrinks by record amount. Greenland lost around 600 billion tonnes of water last year, an amount that would contribute about 1.5 millimetres of sea level rise. Greenland contributed 20-25% of global sea level rise over the last few decades

TIL Stenocara is a species of beetle that is native to the Namib Desert of southern Africa. This is one of the most arid areas of the world, receiving only 1.4 centimetres (0.55 in) of rain per year. The beetle is able to survive by collecting water on its bumpy back surface from early morning fogs.

What if there were 1.25*10^20 centimetres of water
Earlier today, my maths teacher was going through funny answers that people had given for a question on how much rain falls in the Amazon per day. One answer was the huge figure of 1.25x10^20 centimetres of rain. What would be the effect of a sphere of water with a radius of 1.25x10^15 kilometres with the Earth in the centre suddenly being created. Would it have enough mass to condense itself into a black hole, or would it become a giant star?

So Iβm planning on building a mechanical television. As a result, I need to buy some motors capable of spinning 12inch wide wooden discs at 1,800RPM. I doubt theyβll be too thick, probably only a centimetre or two. I am a massive noob though and have no idea what kind of motors to buy.

What is the area considered when amount of rainfall is given in inches or centimetres?
Weather forecasts always predict amounts of rainfall in terms of cm or in. Does this come from a certain volume of rainfall divided over an area? Does it account for drainage and the water that may seep into the ground or just flow off?

Itβs my first winter in the city, Iβm used to having either a washer and dryer or a carβ for those who donβt have either, what do you do about the laundromat when thereβs consistent ice and snow? I have nothing clean for this week, would you drag a pullback through several centimetres of snow?
I canβt really afford a cab at this time but thatβs an option for future laundry ventures. On my next lease, Iβm definitely finding a place with a washer and dryer in-unit.

I also usually do long range attacks but I may want to combine some healing. Any advice for role playing or helpful spells/spell casting?
