A list of puns related to "Campari"
Been trying to make some Campari cocktails for the first ever time in the last week, like Negroi. My local stores are all out of Campari. After doing some googling, Aperol seems to be the next best substitute. (I could be wrong?) They are also the same company as well I think.
Anyways, made a few and really don't like the taste despite seeing many praises here on this sub. (like Negroni, etc)
So I'm just wondering if I should try again with Campari or are these drinks are just not my type?
edit: thanks for all the recommendations!
I have a bottle of campari which got opned last newyear. Do you thinks its good for this new years eve aswell. Has been stored ar roomtemp with no direct sunlight since last new years eve :)?
And oh btw happy new year in advanced !
I am a huge fan of campari tomatoes. I eat them like candy. Typically, I purchase the Sunset brand. But my grocer had the Village Farms brand this time. Herein lies the problem. Why would the same little piece of produce have quite different nutritional values? Which is correct?
Village Farms - 90gm = 15 cal (https://villagefarmsfresh.com/products/tomatoes/sinfully-sweet-campari - nutrition facts https://villagefarmsfresh.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Campari.jpg)
Sunset - 85gm = 25 cal (https://www.sunsetgrown.com/our-produce/tomatoes/campari/ - click nutrition facts)
What are some favorite Campari replacements of yours? (let's not get into the aperitif vs digestif debate)
Mine is St. Agrestis Inferno. Less sugar, a bit stronger on the floral-aromatic notes, but the same bitterness.
I like Leopold's as well.
Honestly I wish there were more drinks in this category (lighter body aperitif that isn't super sugary like cappelletti or aperol)
Just picked up a bottle so Jungle Birds are the drink for tonight. But what are your other favs with Campari in them?
Imo campari seems weird as hell to myself and my roommate and are looking for recommendations for using it, I am a fan of a good negroni but my roommate isn't a big fan of gin, so I thought id see check here for cocktail recipes, also why does it taste so weird, totally not drunk posting this.
Edit: Wow didn't expect as many comments as you guys had, thank you for all the drink recipes
Iβve attempted a few cocktails with Campari and Iβm beginning to wonder if there is just something in it - a flavor - that just clashes with my tastebuds. I want to like it! But Iβve had zero luck with it.
Iβve made the Negroni, Boulevardier, Old Friend, Americanoβ¦and I didnβt like any. I could choke them down but not really enjoyable.
I usually like bitter flavors, but Iβm at a loss with Campari.
Are there any cocktails Iβve missed that I should try? Things that might give me more opportunities to try out Campari?
Or should I just give up and pass the bottle on to someone that loves it? π
