A list of puns related to "Buick Regal"
Both cars are manual. Acura is AWD which I donβt really need.
The Acura had the timing belt replaced recently and looks to be in pretty mint condition overall.
The Buick is a unicorn in a way but I have zero experience with American cars⦠even though the engine was designed by Opel.
Thoughts?
Hey All!
I'm considering trading my current vehicle, a 2018 Buick Regal TourX with 45k miles, for a new 2021 Chevy Bolt. Given the inflated used car values, and the amazing incentives on the Bolts, I may be able to get into the Bolt for around $1000 - $2000 out of pocket out the door.
The wife has a Kia Telluride for family/long trips. My commute is about 60 miles/day, but post pandemic I will not be going into the office in person every day, closer to 1-3 days/week. Plus, I would likely have the ability to charge at work for free those days I did go in. We have 2 boys, 12 and 10, and we usually use my car for shorter in town trips now
Pros of trading so far I can think of:
- No more gasoline! I'm currently around $75-100/month in gas for my car, closer to $150-200 commuting every day.
- Less maintenance cost, since the Bolt is an EV
- Extended longevity, going from a 3 year old car to a brand new one, I'm thinking it would be longer before I needed to replace the Bolt than if I keep the Buick?
Cons:
- Cool Factor. The Bolt isn't pretty by any stretch
- Size. The Buick, being a Wagon, has loads of cargo space behind the rear seats. The Bolt definitely makes Costco runs more challenging, especially if the kids come along.
- Higher Electric bill - Charging at home would increase my electric usage. I'd have to figure considerably less than the gasoline savings, though?
Does it seem like a good deal?
Hi everyone, this is my first Reddit post so sorry if Iβm doing this wrong!
College student, been trying to hunt down something reliable to get to work and outings in this terrible market on a tight budget (3-6k). Iβve recently found a 1989 Buick Regal Custom Coupe 2D, garaged for 14 years with the muffler and exhaust recently replaced. Iβm a bit worried about it falling apart due to it sitting and the age of the car, it doesnβt have the best gas mileage but the interior is absolutely gorgeous. The private seller claims no issues and no rust, selling is for 3.2k. I need the car to last me about 3-5 years without a lot of issues or expenses. It has a clean CARFAX, 14 service records with one owner and no accidents.
My top concern is reliability, as all my savings are going into the car I donβt have the backup funds for high cost repairs and maintenance. Iβve been searching for Toyotaβs and Hondaβs but the market has grossly overpriced them and the low mileage on this Buick caught my eye. Thereβs little to no information on the web about the longevity of this car, probably due to it being ancient. Iβve had mixed answers from car savvy friends letting me know if this is a good purchase of not, looking to hear another voice!
If itβs best to stay away from this one, should I wait until fall at least to see if market prices lighten up a little bit? What other get cars would you guys recommend to avoid extra costs?
Thank you so much!
Hi folks,
Virtually no mechanical savvy on my part, so maybe there's a simple answer to this.
Recently purchased a 2011 Buick Regal off a close friend as a second car. Has good mileage and had a new battery installed back in September 2020.
Everything seemed fine until about a week ago when it would just not start - maybe 10% of the time. When I turn the key all the indicators would light up but the engine wouldn't turn over and I could hear a popping/clicking noise coming from the engine. After between 4 or 5 tries it would eventually start, and then start perfectly fine after that...until it would randomly not start again. This seems to happen completely at random, not impacted by the weather or any other factor, other than it seems to happen when I'm genuinely in a rush to get somewhere. Which makes me wonder if my car is self aware and just happens to be an asshole.
My Google searching has me looking at a battery or spark plug issue, or maybe something with the starter motor? Figured I'd ask the people here before taking it in for service.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Rock Auto sells the valve for 5 bucks or the Valve with hose and I am wondering, it looks like you need a special tool to get the hose loose from both ends? Anyone done this job?
Iβve been debating and searching for an upgraded intercooler setup for my 2014 Buick Regal. I havenβt done any research as to what size our stock setup is but will eventually. Just seeking out ideas if itβs possible.
I'm already $3K into it for something unrelated. It on has just over 100K miles on it. Is it worth it? I understand something else could go wrong as soon as I fix this, but I really don't want the car payment. Financially, I do have the cash to have it rebuilt. On one hand I'm already in pretty deep without the tranny rebuild and I'm considered getting it rebuilt on the other that's a ton of $$ I'm sinking into it. Any thoughts?
Some days it makes the noise other days it doesn't. Short videos of me turning the car on in the link.grind noise
Hey yβall iβm just wondering what the general opinion is on buying this beast. Itβs $1500CAD, right around 300,000km, apparently itβll struggle to find the right gear once in a while and has a slight oil leak. I got to ride in it and it seems good overall, itβs really comfortable, smooth, powerful etc. To me it just seems like the car is on its way out and wouldnβt be able to handle me beating the piss out of it for too long. Yet at the same time itβs a supercharged car for less than 2k so, any advice is welcome.
