A list of puns related to "Border checkpoint"
A friend of mine and I are visiting Big Bend in a few weeks and were wondering how tough is border patrol out there since they aren't a legal US citizen there are concerns about being stopped at a checkpoint and being ID'd. TIA.
Really enjoying how the show is taking a leap and exploring the bigger world. While the series source material is wonderful, I’m also a huge sucker for post apocalyptic fiction (loving the Children of Men visual vibes, praying they don’t do Walking Dead style scavenger groups). However, there’s a few things after episode 5 that I’m a bit confused on. Maybe I missed something, maybe it’ll be explained later, but I’m curious to read the thoughts of others on this blessed sub.
One thing that always annoyed me about convos on the other sub in the early days was that people pointed to Hawaii still being a US state and said “but the Pacific fleet!” If Jan. 6 taught us anything, it’s that some active duty would be more than willing to serve “the Divine Republic.” That combined with some dialogue from Lawrence this episode, Gilead still seems to retain much of the US’ military might and logistics (that being said, in season 1 we did meet a loyal, former US soldier who was serving and tried to liberate a Red Center). Would love to get a glimpse at what condition, if any, loyal US forces are in.
Still, if we spent billions on the F-35 just for Gilead to get it, that’s a bummer.
Why did June go to a military checkpoint? The MREs indicated that it was a Gilead checkpoint. Why would a wanted, high profile fugitive even approach that spot? We’ve seen in the past, Gilead is more than happy to grab civilians off the streets, let alone the lady who keeps getting the best of them. She seemed surprised it was abandoned.
Have any new maps been released? There’s the old ones from past seasons, a few on the wiki, and plenty of fan made ones, but the borders mentioned over the years seem iffy. This season we first heard about the Republic of Texas and this episode we heard about Nevada. Any firm details out there as to what Gilead controls in the current cannon?
I’m a Cincinnati fan, so I wouldn’t trade a red colored cloak, let alone two red colored warm cloaks, for a Cubs hat. But couldn’t that guy have just given up the hat? It has no practical value in this world. And to that end— why not just look around for one? I’m sure there are plenty laying about (they did say clothes were the one thing they had plenty of). Last note on this: in my head canon, Janine gave dickhead Stephen the hat and he rejected it be
L'Ontario prolonge son confinement par deux semaines de plus (4 nets de maintenant, ou 6 total). Les détails suivront sûrement. Les barrages routiers sont explicitement mentionnés avec le Manitoba et le Québec.
Ontario is extending its stay-at-home order by two more weeks (4 net from now, 6 weeks total). More details will surely follow. Border checkpoints were explicitly mentioned with Manitoba and Quebec.

Has anyone been through the border check point entering Big Bend from the US lately? I’m just curious about how strict the search process is
UPDATE: Very lenient getting in. Not risking anything on the way out
I’m going to be in Albuquerque next month and wanted to check out some hot springs in truth or consequences before flying back to California from ABQ. I made a reservation at riverbend hot springs. I’m not a US citizen, just on a work visa and would like to avoid border patrol, since I’ve heard it can take hours to verify your status.
Is there a checkpoint when I’m heading back from truth or consequences back to ABQ?
