I'm looking for something that basically describes a prize not worth winning, but not in a do-your-best-get-a-lame-prize sort of way. If you "play stupid games and win stupid prizes", other than a "booby prize", what else could those "stupid prizes" be called?

I think the first prize may have been a fancy doll. It was an oldish book, before the 2000s.

So today, I found out that I was introduced into the President Promise Club in my division and I am not impressed. The anniversary awards are better than this. I took a look at the listing that was in the envelope and why bother even signing up?
What's the use of it, I think none at all and Google seems to agree?
I convert my MoF to aurum and buy cache keys mostly for the distillates.
Today my cache glowed up purple as though I hit a jackpot and I received a blue weapon bag. Imagine my surprise when the weapon is only worth 1490 MoF.
Considering the keys cost real money (even if you trade MoF for aurum someone had to pay for it) why can they give you an almost completely worthless reward? Atleast give the weapon bag AND the 2 random distillates.
I remember reading that Joseph Smith would play with kids and sometime offer "booby prizes"

But I couldn't tell what it was referring to, are these like "negative prizes for winning" or "lame prizes for last place"? I couldn't quite seem to find the citation, any historians want to shed more light on this/examples for me, by chance? :)

Thought I'd try and see if anyone's up for helping us with the creation of booby prize badges for poor performance on boxingprophet. Nothing super harsh, just a bit of fun - so far we've got this list (with Sven Ottke as a single booby prize at the bottom)...

- a boxer to represent losing in a number of super-fights? (we used Lennox, Sugar Ray Leonard and Ali to represent winning super-fights)
- a boxer (or writer/promoter) to represent unpopular opinions (e.g. having 10 downvotes on a comment)
- a boxer to represent losing consecutive world title fights
- a boxer to represent losing world title fights at multiple weights
- a boxer to represent a very long losing streak?
- a boxer to represent getting an 'obvious' prediction wrong (where 90% of the community got the right answer) - kinda the opposite of a buster douglas - where you blow it from a winning position.
And really any other booby prize ideas we could link to actions on the site - e.g. I thought about having a Naseem Hamed badge for making no more predictions after getting 1 wrong but it seemed a bit harsh to have him as a booby prize!
