A list of puns related to "Black Parade (song)"
I've went on a search for an official explanation of the album, yet the only official explanation by MCR I have found is this video where they state their influences for each song as well as the album in general, but never really go into much detail of the story for each song: https://youtu.be/jM3hF0Z-4hM Resulting in that (more-or-less fail of a) search, I have decided to try and elaborate on the story and where The Patient is in each of the songs, as well as what they're each about to my best knowledge.
The Black Parade is an album centered on a character only known as "The Patient", a man fatally diagnosed with cancer who dies and begins his journey into the afterlife, reflecting on his life and what's to become of his memory towards his loved-ones and family.
The End is the first song on the album, where we're introduced to The Patient on his deathbed. He tells people close to him to prepare for his inevitable funeral but doesn't expect any mourning from those who attend, stating "I'll expect you won't cry!" He understands he's going to die and has somewhat accepted it, yet in the outro repeatedly pleads to be saved while simultaneously telling anyone left trying to help him to just walk away, knowing his illness is fatal and wanting to give up on himself.
The next song Dead steps back in time before his diagnosis and begins with a flatline as The Patient's heart has temporarily stopped while in the hospital. He is revived with his mother at his bedside, her angrily asking him again and again if, once he dies, if his death is justified as he threw his life away. The first chorus of the song is him coming to the realization that he is dying and has nobody that would care. He's never lived his life to the fullest, and now won't have the chance to. In the operating room the Doctor tells him that there are complications with his heart, that he's only got two weeks to live, and the sudden stress of guaranteed death so early in life starts to drastically affect The Patient's mental health.
This Is How I Disappear is The Patient realizing that nobody will miss him, and that his memory will fade to nothing as the one person he loved doesn't care for him anymore. Not only in life are they separated but in death they will be too since he's done many things he is ashamed of and will go to hell. His lost love, on the other hand, will go to heaven as "all the good girls go". He reaches out with courage h

I remember when I was younger, I had the song โWelcome to the Black Paradeโ by My Chemical Romance on my iPod. I was listening to it on the bus for it was popular and was recently released, and one of the kids I was friends with asked me what I was listening to. I told him and he asked to listen to the song so I gave him an earbud. He loved it and asked me to replay it three more times, particularly the opening monologue portion. The next day, he brought another one of his friends to listen to it. Then the after school group I was with, more of his friends all wanted to listen to it. What was strange about this is, all of these kids that were asking to listen to this song were Black. Having known most of them and what they listen to, emo/punk bands with lyrics alluding to suicide(or so I remember) were not high on their list, but for some reason, this song resonated so well with them. It took me more than a decade to realize why it may have been so popular.
They were not listening to a song about suicide, but an empowering song. An empowering song of the Black paradeโa parade of Black people. Looking at the lyrics, it very well may invoke such a feeling of empowerment. It was strange it took me that long to realize that this song could take on a whole different meaning.
Mines every song except Blood. Ironically Iโm 14 and I was born in 2006 so am I a part of The Black Parade?
Put a letter of the alphebet that corresponds with the song ex: the end/dead is A the sharpest lives is B so on and so forth
The black parade is a near perfect album apart from its most famous song, welcome to the black parade in my opinion isn't even a good song in it's own right the fact it's on an album off songs so good the bane couldn't live up to the expectation it had set it's self makes the song standout even more.
Maybe it's becuase I heard to non stop on kerang and skuzz but I can't stand welcome to the black parade.
This has been driving me nuts for a bit now, there's an opening going on repeat in my head with the same notes as Welcome to the black parade, but doubled. Like every note is played twice. Does anyone know what i'm talking about or have i gone crazy?
This is honestly a pretty tough list to make for me. TBP was one of the first CDs I ever purchased. I remember being in like 4th grade and being weird because I was obsessed with MCR because of this album. This is one of the very few albums where if someone tells me โmy favorite song on the album is ____โ Iโd say โyeah I definitely see why thatโs your favorite song on the album.โ Every track is solid at worst and absolutely timeless and perfect at best.
Hereโs my list: (Note, I am not including โBloodโ or any of the bonus tracks on streaming services. Just the original 13 tracks.
Sleep: Donโt get me wrong, this track is still good. But one song has to be last right? I feel like this song as well as number 12 donโt really have the star power or memorability to be ahead of any of the other tracks. I would say when I donโt listen to the full album, this would be the one I skip most frequently.
Disenchanted: I like this better than Sleep, the melody is awesome and the track is an awesome slow song to set up Famous Last Words. Other than that I find myself skipping it often as well.
The End: I feel like this is mainly meant to be an intro song to the album but it passes as an individual song that sounds great on its own. Probably one of the only intro songs off any album I actually listen to individually.
I donโt Love You: This song is really well written as far as the instrumental goes. However it doesnโt stick out enough to beat the rest.
Dead!: Awesome transition into the meat of the album. Great guitar and outro.
House of Wolves: Nice energetic song in between two slower songs. Makes me want to jump. One of the best hooks on the album.
Teenagers: One of my favorites when I was younger. This song is definitely a detour from the rest of the album but it sounds great with the rest album nonetheless.
This is How I Disappear: Another song with one of the best hooks on the album. This is a track I have liked a lot more as I have grown up. Good energy and instrumental.
Cancer: Kicking off the top 5 with a sad one. This is the best ballad on the album by far in my opinion. I love a song that starts slow and picks up a bit later. This track has great personal meaning for me because I discovered this album around the same time that my mom was diagnosed with cancer and my grandma passed away from it. I usually only listen to it with the rest of the album because it reminds me of losing my grandma and almost losing my mom. St
Not all that articulated, but unmistakably the intro to WTTBP
I couldn't be more proud
Ok I know what youโre thinking; โWelcome to the Black Parade is the most iconic MCR song how could you be sick of it??โ I do agree that it is a great song and one of their most well-known song which is the very reason Iโm sick of it. I have been listening to this song for as long as I can remember and Iโve learnt the drum and guitar parts to it and because of that I have definitely over-listened to it. What is your opinion on the song? Please donโt hate too much.
It's kind of hard to describe what I mean by anthem songs. Rock songs that sound very melodic, building up to something grand, while remaining clear itself. A song that celebrates something or sounds like the culmination of something.

I love the darkness in both bands and Cure were a huge influence on MCR.
Are their bands like MCR that are their spiritual successor like Set It Off?
What about other 80s bands that are like The Cure like Joy Division, Siouxsie and the Banshees or Bauhaus?
The intro to the song is basically gonna be my background to why Iโm adventuring but I want to see if u guys can help me flesh out a character
โWhen I was a young boy, my father, took me into the city to see a marching band,
He said son when you grow up would you be the savior of the broken, the beaten and the damned? Will you defeat them? Those heathens and all the non believers, the plans that they have madeโ
This sounds sorta like a paladin or a cleric but I want to see what you guys can come up with
CRINGE Warning: This might not be accurate so donโt mock me for it. Stay away from neckbearding. Downvote if Mikey no Likey or else youโre never gonna get a Nikey.
Also this post is cringe so be aware
The Black Parade: You probably listen to Queen or you just really like marching bands
Dead!: you never turn your headphoneโs volume down and you probably speak loudly
The Sharpest Vibes: your favorite subject is literature and you attempted writing poems before
Sleep: The only thing straight about you is your armโs hair when you listen to it
House of wolves: youโre problematic and your parents canโt handle you
The end: You never listen to it without Dead!
Cancer: admit it. You like it because it reminds you of someone
I donโt love you: you spend a little too much time thinking about your relationships with people and you thought everything was as deep as your self esteemโs pit hole when you were a tween
Teenagers: You hate the government more than anybody else does
Mama: Youโre even more dramatic than Bollywood movies. And youโre very pessimistic
This is how I diss a pear: you actually disappear into thin air in every social event
Disenchanted: youโre distrusting sometimes
Blood: Youโve replied to someone who said the word โBloodโ with โgallons of this stuffโ at least once
Famous last words: youโre more impressed by the music video that stars two mine who throw themselves on each other until theyโre a pile of bamboo than the song itself
What artwork will you get on The Black Parade for different copies of it (vinyl vs. cd, etc.)? Also, what artwork will you get on the actual disc/record?
yes imo mcr's greatest hit song isn't really that good imo. it just isn't. I don't jam with it at all. ik the lyrics and the sounds and the GLORIOUS G NOT OOOOO but I just don't like it. I can't jam with it at all and it's really imo overrated. mcr has so many better songs such as teenagers, house of wolfs, nanana, helena, I'm not ok, and my favorite the ghost of you. what do all these songs have in common? they're actually good and aren't overrated and are super easy to jam to. I just don't like the black parade at all I'm sorry
If you have other ideas of where songs should go let me know:)
Also The Owl House more like The Owl Parade am I right?
Just curious how you guys would order the tracks on Black Parade from favorite to least favorite
