Did any mammas to be or STM receive any especially long narrow newborn clothes? If so, what brands were they?

My little graduate is 20" long but very narrow. All of the NB items we bought or were given are all too wide (necklines fall off his shoulders and the width makes long sleeves several inches too long). Preemie is better, but too dang short.

I have a size/brand chart that lists brands by weights, but it doesn't list "beanpole" vs "stocky" fits. Would love to read how others solved a similar thing!

Edit: Thank you all! I'll be ordering a few things suggested and I think I have a few of these stores locally to see them before buying (even better!).

I loved the cinematography and thought the acting of the to powerful females lead was amazing. I don't mind if I have to read subtitles the movie can be in a foreign language. I would just like something with good cinematography and deep characters. I have also seen Cold War(2018) and even thought it was somber and somewhat bleak I still enjoyed the movie because it was so well done and made you feel for the characters. Even though it is probably very well done not Manchester by the Sea Thanks! Edit. Seen and love - The Third Man. Parasite, The Favourite. Have not seen but want to see - Martin Eden, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, The Mad Women's Ball.

Just watched Beanpole. There's many scenes where the characters are looking at each other for a long time without speaking. Shifts in emotions are happening. It's all quite clear on screen to the viewer. I'm not sure the best way to put this on the page though.

[Some line of context giving dialog] She looks at her. She smiles. She laughs. She looks at the floor. She looks up again. Etc.

That's the kind of thing I find trying to fill these gaps, which feels flat on the page.

Alternatively I guess you could jump inside the characters head during these moments. I'm usually directing what I write so this isn't an issue.

In the case of Beanpole I suspect the actors were told to take their time and connect to the moment. Just difficult to put that kind of meaningful but silent duration on the page.

Beanpole Bobby was a long, tall drink of water, and skinny as a rail. He was a high school friend of mine.

Bernice was probably the prettiest girl in school. She also had a foul-mouthed vocabulary that would make a Sailor blush, and a hair-trigger temper that could make a Marine seek higher ground.

In short, pretty much a perfect woman, as far as I was concerned. I’ve found bein’ with a woman you know could kick your ass if she wanted to to be somehow alluring. A little danger adds spice to a relationship. Fear is a great aphrodisiac. Or maybe that’s just me.

Predictably, I Loved Bernie. I used to dream about that girl. Oh, the possibilities!

Bobby didn’t like her for some reason, which was ok. She didn’t like him.

But Bobby made the mistake of making his dislike a matter of public record. Certain ungentlemanly remarks were made.

I tried to warn Beanpole, but he wouldn’t listen: “A girl?! What’s she gonna do to me? Man, yer such a puss!”

Oh, you fool!

Bernice beat his ass. Thoroughly. In public. It was ugly. I was an interested spectator. I enjoyed every minute of it. The dumbass had brought it on himself.

She eventually got tired. All that cardio, you know?

Then she glared at Me! Hey, I wasn’t the one implied she had quick-release snaps on her pink purties! “You want some o’ this, OP?”

Well, not in this context, Bernice! “Naw, Bernie. I’m good.”

After she left, I helped BB up off the ground. My boy was leakin’ really good. Bernice apparently felt that if a thing was worth doin’, it was worth doin’ right. She’d done Bobby right. That boy was an ass-kicked masterpiece. That can-do attitude, I reflected, was sure to serve her well in life.

Maybe I’d give ‘er a call when she’d calmed down a little, got all that meat out from under ‘er fingernails and soaked them bruised knuckles some. She’d still be ridin’ that high from whoopin’ on Bobby. Could be interestin’. I didn’t mind a few bruises, as long as the purties come off first.
