Especially after House of Fraser's announcement they're shutting down for good... do you think that'll turn into another American Candy-type store?

In Colchester, womenswear brand Best Days Vintage has a hybrid approach of physical store for local shoppers, ASOSMarketplace store for national/international buyers.
I wonder if a McDonald's would ever take over an empty Debenhams if there was one - or would it cost too much?
People keep claiming the High Street is dead, but is it really, if people keep going to Home Bargains/Poundland/New Look etc. for things they can't get on Amazon?
I remember hearing about an Italian food shop in Liverpool that was fairly popular even though the products were more expensive than in Tesco or online.
What do you think should be done to revive interest in the High Street?
