A list of puns related to "Holiness Movement"
Religion damages me and the people in it and I realize it ainβt for me but got to keep it a secret for now.
Although I am on the ordination track with the Free Methodist Church, I intentionally attended an Anglican school for my seminary education which has left some historical gaps in my American Methodist history.
What are the classic or standard works on both the history of the Holiness Movement and the theology of the Holiness Movement? Primary and secondary sources are welcome.
Thanks!
I tried to explain it to someone the other day and I had a hard time. Anybody have any thoughts?
For background I've basically played my majority of fights as Eliza who once you have the execution down can be pretty oppressive on offense when most people don't bother learning the match up. Took a break during S2&3 and got the ol Tekken itch and been playing non stop again. Started by getting my Eliza to Genbu then hitting up player matches to see what I'd be up against in the coming ranks.
Well lemme tell you, I have legitimately never had my ass as thoroughly whooped as it was for the first few days of getting to Genbu, I'd load up player matches and most of the people I'd fight were Ruler and Blue ranks. Everything I tried was just getting effortlessly shoved back up my ass by my opponents. No biggie realize im doing something wrong, watch replays, lab etc and try to break it down. "Hmmm seems ok I'm not doing much out of the ordinary maybe I'll just take a breather on Eliza and try someone else for a bit."
Play a little Jin but not super good with him just always liked him since T3, fun distraction. Then I think fuck it I'm gonna try AK he's got a CD like mishima's but grapples like king seems fun! Absolutely get my shit rocked damn near every match after learning some basics so I dig a little deeper with some YouTube tutorials and you kind folks on the sub and finally got my "ah shit" moment.
Started playing AK in a way where you let the other guy beat himself and wait for my moments to punish etc. SS moves that can SS'd, backdash away from mashers and CD in to punish when applicable. Having a ton of fun, so for shits n gigs I go back with this more defensive/movement based attitude with Eliza. Holy shit! Now Im holding my own against Rulers and Fujins etc and when I watch some of my replays from before it's like "oh yeah! I could've ducked that, I could've SSL there, why didn't I punish that whiff".
TLDR: If your defense sucks ass just dive face first into a character you have no idea how to play, make it someone without a lot of + on block moves and just relearn everything you thought you knew to give you a fresh perspective of how to better your game.
It happens every single time I join a lobby. The bug happens when you are not the host, and you use cyclone slash at the same time an enemy staggers you. When this happens your character won't be able to move and will jitter in place. The only way to move is either constantly rolling, or when you're in the cyclone slash again. The only fix is to die in an expedition, leaving and going to camp won't fix it. You must specifically die in an expedition and either retry or abandon it. Or you can exit to lobby. This bug along with the shrapnel grenade bug where the mod stops working if you shoot your gun too soon after a cutscene, is ruining this game for me. I use both things in my build and have to deal with a stupid bug every 30 mins it seems. Constantly apologizing to people I join, or getting kicked because I'm only hindering the team. This NEEDS to be fixed. These game breaking bugs are unacceptable. The fact that this bug may not even be known by the devs also annoys me. I require that a dev sees this.
The first game already impressed me by introducing the Bash. It's just so versatile and silky smooth to use, and it completely recontextualized how you move through the world. WotW goes even further by introducing the Grapple, which although it's less versatile, the way grapple points were placed in areas in tandem with other obstacles made platforming feel so natural.
All the different dash moves in this game are fun as hell too. The Burrow and Swim Dash were already really fun, but then at the end of the game you get Launch, which you can use above ground and goes an insane distance. On top of that, using Launch refreshes your double (and triple) jump and your dash. Combined with bashing off a Light Burst, you can jump astronomically high and far.
Movement in this game is just so fluid and powerful. It makes me wish the game had a secret platforming challenge a la Hollow Knight that pushed the platforming to its limits. Unfortunately, despite how insanely powerful Launch makes you, there's nothing in the final area that really forces you to use your jumping ability to its fullest extent. But at least the movement is extremely satisfying.
