A list of puns related to "Aluminium oxide"
I am looking for a way to coat nylon mono filament with abrasive grit.
Can anyone suggest a suitable process for this? I've thought about using adhesive but not sure what kind of adhesive will work best for this, superglue or epoxy adhesive.
The aim is to use abrasive line for cutting soft material like brass or aluminium thin wire. Ofc there are better ways to cut thin wires but for this experiment I must use abrasive + plastic composite.

I found that NurdRage on YouTube makes red iron oxide through electrolysis of iron nail in electrolyte solution of NaCl.
I am wondering if same can be used to obtain alumnium oxide by changing Iron nail anode for alumnium rod anode.
I did some Googling but couldn't find any evidence, most electrolysis of aluminium resulted in search results where electrolysis is used for extracting alumnium from its oxide.
Most people who have a small home toolroom have 6inch Grinder form Dewalt or Stanley or Bosch. Bench Grinder is very useful for sharpening tools instead of throwing them away.
Problem is wheels are hard to find in local shop.
Bench Grinder takes 2 wheels, so it makes sense to have a course wheel one side and fine one on another side to finish.
No one is selling a set of two 6inch wheel online.
Hi guys, I'm still fairly new to pyrography. I bought a leather strop from eBay for keeping my tips tidy, and it came with a greenish block of what I'm guessing is chromium oxide for sharpening. Would this be appropriate to use for my tips, or should I try to source some aluminium oxide instead? Thanks in advance!
Hi all, couldnβt find answers elsewhere online so just wondered if anyone could answer my Qs! My mum has a Krups espresso maker from 1993 (a wedding present) which has hardly been touched for a very long time. It has white flakes inside the water container and these come out into the coffee grounds. Itβs proven quite difficult to clean manually and descaler didnβt really do very much, but we did only try it once.
Thanks in advance! I really donβt want to throw it out because it works so well (and because it outlived my parentsβ marriage!). Resisting throwaway culture etc etc also I have nothing better to do right now.......

Why does aluminium oxide have amphoteric property? Why is it not basic like magnesium oxide and sodium oxide in its same period?
hi all
i understand that the production of aluminium by electrolysis of molten aluminium oxide / cryolite. Lots of thermal energy neede to get those ions loose.
i wonder why it is not possible to directly feed the aluminium hydroxide into the electrolysis-cell? wikipedia tells me, the melting point is only at 300 Β°C. I don't understand, why it is converted to the aluminium oxide first in the bayer-process.
who can enlighten me?
(Ar: Al =27, O=16)
With classes being cancelled I have to resort to asking on the internet for help, so thanks alot for those who were helping me so far
Update: thanks alot!
Hello i realize that we can make aluminium oxide layer on aluminium cylinder using anodising but how do you make anodisation of different grits to achieve similar effect like sandpaper of different grit
I know that aluminium oxide can be very hard how strong is the bond between aluminium oxide and aluminium that we get after anodising.
Iβm buying the Dremel 3000 with 25 accessories kit today and have about 2 years of experience with this type of tool (not Dremel though). I was using fully metallic bits but donβt know if the Aluminium Oxide one is good for carving/sanding down wood into specific shapes...

Should we know equations for aluminium oxide reactions with acids and bases even though they aren't in the syllabus? I originally didn't plan on studying them until our teacher made a comment on how IB did indeed ask about them.
