A list of puns related to "Zionism"
Open debate. Y/N
From my understanding, it is because the confiscation of the land and so on is unfair to the Palestines and it falls under colonialism. Could anyone clarify it?
He has touched upon this a bit in other videos, but a look at international movements like Zionism would be great.
Just to be clear, I'm not trying to defend the policies of the Israeli government in this post, just some theory stuff.
I see a lot of people on this sub contradict themselves when talking about Zionism a lot. A lot of people defend and support anti-zionism but then say they don't want Israel wiped off the map or anything. To be clear, Zionism has many different strains, but essentially it is the belief that the Jewish people are a people, and are therefore entitled to self determination in the form of nationhood. That's it - if you believe in the two state solution or just want Israel to get out the West Bank or whatever - you're still a Zionist. It's frustrating to see this sub endorse genuinely horrible people because they're "anti-zionist" and lump the Israeli Labour Party in with Likud because they're both "Zionist".
I feel like a lot of the debate is just misunderstanding because the pro-Israel people think that the 'anti-zionists' want to wipe them off the map and ethnically cleanse them out the Levant. Meanwhile the pro-Palestinian side think that all Zionists are just the "your house belongs to me because God said so" type.
Yeah. Anyways, vote Labour and remember to recycle.
Hey everyone, I'm in a potentially weird situation at work and I'm not sure how to handle it. I figure I would ask r/Palestine for some advice. For context, I am a non-Palestinian American who, through activism, has become aware and at least somewhat involved in the free Palestine movement.
So, I work at a non-profit in Chicago, USA and unfortunately just had a colleague pass away about a month back. There were services, etc. but we just received an email that one of our external partners donated a tree in honor of her memory, a kind gesture. To my surprise, I opened the e-mail to see it was a tree to be planted in Israel by the Jewish National Fund. While I am no expert, I am aware of both JNF's recent horrible policies as well as the ecological apartheid that Israel has waged on Palestine for decades. This dedication makes me extremely uncomfortable as it unnecessarily politicizes a colleague's death (we work nowhere near global politics for this to even make sense) and also the literature explicitly calls for Zionism.
I am not sure how to proceed. I do not feel discriminated against (as I am not Palestinian) but I find this obviously morally objectionable. I'm not sure if I should reach out to my colleague who shared this or HR or what course of action to take. It's obviously a sensitive internal issue as it's in honor of a colleague who passed away and I want to be mindful of my coworkers during this time as well. Any advice is welcome!
It seems that the idea is based on the idea that Jewish people should be sent off to Isreal rather than living in Australia, England, France, Canada and America. Do Zionists not want Jewish people to live in the same country as them. If all of the Jewish people just went to this five countries instead of fucking over Palestinians then it would have have saved a lot of lives.

We get some of everything here. K*kes, Jews control the world's media, Jews are responsible for World War I, Jews eat babies, Zionists are the real antisemites...
I don't want to write it all out because I'm on mobile.
I'm not even going to touch whether or not it's antisemitic to be antizionist. I don't think it necessarily is, but it's kind of irrelevant to the point I'm making.
The bigger issue is when the moderators, leadership, whatever are imposing a blanket ban on all forms of Zionism and not allowing any dissenting voices to be heard. If you aren't allowing marginalized indigenous voices to be expressed and you're calling yourself a leftist, you're doing something wrong.
Anyway, I just had to vent. I'm sick and tired of that happening in both in-person and online leftist spaces--especially when it's often white, Gentile bigwigs doing it.
One of the major things I've noticed with arguing most Zionists, is that, they literally worship Israel as their god. To these people, the actual Jewish religion as it was, is somewhat secondary, as is the idea of really a "Jewish" people.
When you look at their arguments, and how in particular, actual proper Zionists have quite a lot of disdain for the diaspora and are perfectly fine with antisemitism in service of Israel to the point you get Zionists marching arm in arm with groups like the BNP and other far-right European psychopaths, that to them the "Jewish people" really just means, Israeli, and the Jewish faith they support, really is just belief in Israel as a Jewish national project.
They don't even hide this as well, go read any release by the Board of Deputies or Labour against Antisemitism etc and they all constantly talk about how Israel is the core central belief of Judaism, which is of course, fucking nonsense considering the diaspora have survived as many different unique cultural Jewish groups for thousands of years across Africa, Europe and Asia outside of Israel. (negating the diaspora and it's existence is one of the core aspects of Zionist theory Χ©ΧΧΧΧͺ ΧΧΧΧΧͺ)
American Evangelical Christianity, is the syncretism between God and Nation, and Jesus and the Republican party. When Evangelical's talk about god and Jesus, they're really talking about the concept of America as a nation idea and Jesus is pretty much whoever the Republican figurehead is at that moment/Reagan. If you end up debating Evangelicals and you're familiar with debating Zionists, you really start to notice how much they sound like Zionists, You realise you're simply arguing with Ultra-Nationalists who have turned their religion into Nation-worshipping.
This is also why Zionists are quick to call any Non-Zionist Jews as "fake jews" and Kapos, when "Israel is central to Judaism" is your core belief, then what are the Jews who don't like Israel or are Antizionist? They're of course, "fake Jews". This is how you get the bizarre situation where Zionist Christians, become "honourary Jews" and are often in the media talking down to anti-Zionist Jewish groups like Jewdas, JVL, IJAN, JVP and holocaust survivors like Hajo Meyer and figures like Finkelstein as "fake jews" and "antisemites". This is why in the UK, you see the Labour party, mass expelling Antizionist Jews for "antisemitism", while those calling Antizionist Jews "Holocaust supporters" (Kapos) and "fa

David Grun, Moshe Chertok, Levi Shkolnik, Yigal Peikowitz, Golda Mabovitch, Yitzhak Rubitzov , MieczysΕaw Biegun, Yitzhak Yezernitsky, Szymon Perski; Benjamin Mileikowsky, Ehud Brog, and Ariel Scheinermann.
Of course, these are the birth names of the Zionist regime's Prime Ministers, which were conveniently changed. I find it interesting because these names are obviously rooted in Central and Eastern Europe, with Polish, Germanic, and Slavic roots.
I don't think its a coincidence that all these names changed and Zionists do not refer to these individuals by their birth names, because it would be laughable to most observers to refer to Zionism as a non-colonialist ideology when these names are obviously rooted in European states.
I think non-Zionists should refer to these individuals by their proper names , and I will do so in the future.
A popular Zionist narrative accuses Jewish anti-Zionism of being a woke progressive fad, token Jews following the trends of the moment in order to appease Gentiles. Already ridiculous and insulting on face value, this proposition is shown to be outright wrong once the long history of Jewish opposition to Zionism is studied. βJews Against Zionism: The American Council for Judaism, 1942-1948β by Thomas A. Kolsky examines a piece of that history, looking at American Reform leaders opposing Zionism, racism, and Jewish nationalism, their strategies, their motivations, and ultimately their reasons for failure.
The American Council for Judaism (ACJ) was formed in 1942 by a group of American Reform rabbis for the purpose of opposing Zionism and supporting liberal Reform values. They believed that Zionism supported religious and racial nationalism, which was in opposition to the liberal ethics that Reform Judaism stood for. The first issue they opposed was a βJewish Armyβ in Palestine. They supported integration and βJewish emancipation,β and saw the creation of a politically Jewish nation in Palestine as both anti-democratic and harmful to Jewish interests around the world.
The American Council for Judaism failed in its goal of stopping the creation of a national Jewish state for a few reasons. First, Zionists were successful at using the idea of the Holocaust to spread their message. Second, the ACJ could not create any humanitarian alternatives to a state in Palestine. Third, their ideological alternative of emancipation was vague compared to the concrete goal of nationalism.
By the 1940s, anti-Zionist Jews were already a small minority compared to Zionist Jews. Once the horrors of the Holocaust became better known, Zionists used this information as part of their message; they said that anti-Semitism was incurable and the only way to keep Jews safe was to form a solely Jewish state in Palestine. The sympathy appeal was powerful to both Jews and non-Jews. The ACJ and other anti-Zionists did not have any effective counter to this. Indeed, the strong emotions created by invoking the Holocaust led to emotional attacks and censure of anti-Zionists. In 1944, for instance, the American Zionist Emergency Council called for the removal of two Philadelphia rabbis for their anti-Zionist views. Elsewhere, Zionists insulted anti-Zionists by depicting βthem as βminimum Jewsβ, traitors and saboteurs, ostriches who did not like to draw attention to their Jewishness, *shtadl
