Ladies and gentlemen, shavers of all persuasions, it is my great honor to announce the winner of the First Annual Artist of Shaving Award.
This award was born out of a desire to see what shaving inspires you to do and to create. I wanted to do something that celebrated folks who turned shaving and the things that inspired us about shaving into something else entirely. And holy heck did yβall do and create a lot of stuff in a wide range of mediums.
Pretty much everyone joined in on the fun for the art of shaving day (NSFW).
Some (but by no means all) highlights for me:
We had fine label art from u/youarebreakingthings
Fine art from u/yellow_blueberry (one pic here is NSFW)
Fabric art from u/newtothethis
Sculpturefrom u/djundjila
Mixologylessons from u/chronnoisseur420 which I almost missed because I was too busy trying to decode a hidden PIF.
Musicfrom u/merikus
And tunes from u/chefkoolaid
And of course, the weird bit of performance art that was the YRFCE oeuvre of u/pppork
There were so many poems and short stories. Jokes, parody performances⦠Strange little bits of shaving theatre exploded across the subreddit like fourth of July fireworks. It was a dizzying, mad, beautiful thing to watch and I was SO impressed by all of you.
Ultimately, I must choose just one winner. So, I did what any responsible judge would do and pawned the decision off to my child.
After much deliberation (and strategic link clicking to avoid penises) I am proud to announce the winner of the first annual Artist of Shaving award is u/yellow_blueberry
30 individual pieces of original art, in various mediums (but primarily watercolor) over the cour

We've had strange communication issues and I feel really lost on this team and I wonder if anyone has insight on what this may be as I can't figure it out?
9 months ago I joined a tech cohort and we all had the opportunity to compete and collaborate for a grant to fund our project. I was approached by a young designer with a cool concept and agreed to work on it too . I was responsible for a lot of the exploratory prototypes which spearheaded our project , I loved the concept and had the most experience so churning out a demo of the concepts we shared in the meetings was easy for me and something i delighted in doing.
Throughout the development of the prototype I ran into really bizarre communication issues a lack of direction and what felt like lots of silent rejections of my prototypes and any team ideas included in them .
It was strange because I really made those prototypes to be conversation pieces for us to explore our collective vision of the project often times taking several ideas we discussed in meetings and merging them into one playable demo experience.
It culminated in the team being encouraged to take a break over Christmas and not work on anything then the designer and one of his friends on the project replaced the prototype I built with something they threw together over the break . It's a team project so them working on their own prototype was welcome but I was also called the tech lead and I wasn't consulted with or informed about the prototype at all and after the Christmas break it was deemed as the teams new direction . I was just at a loss I wish they could have simply told me that my prototypes weren't the direction they were looking for but we never had that conversation .
Those communication issues became quite infuriating because I didn't understand my role on the team I had the most experience but wasn't listened to , I was called the tech lead but my tech solutions were replaced, and when i'd offer pipeline or strategy advice it was often waved away .
I briefly left the project and the team to their own devices and was asked to come back and help when it came time to submit the final project which the team was pretty unimpressed with .as a whole but we finsihed by the deadline and were proud of tha

I know there have been a few pitchers that have been traded during the off season following their cy young award, but have any been traded mid season and gone on to win it?
