Start of the Yarra River
Does anyone know the exact location of where the Yarra River starts?
I've always wanted to visit there (the concept of a little stream eventually becoming our great river is so interesting to me).
Alternatively, if you can't find the start of it, is there a place you can visit near there?

Kayaking on Yarra River
Hi folks,
My partner and I just moved from Queensland to Melbourne. We brought along our kayaks and we would like to kayak along the yarra river - from the east through the CBD and back.
We are based in Box Hill and would like to know loading/ramps areas with accessible parking spots near Burnley/Hawthorn or other recommended spots.
And is there anything we need to know before kayaking the yarra river? Safety, precautions etc.

Wild seal in the Yarra river recording
Hey guys!
Fairly new to field recording but Iβm learning slowly haha. The other week I was walking a trail that runs alongside the Yarra River around 10 mins drive from the city in Melbourne when a seal appeared, splashing about while trying to tear apart a fish. A rare occurrence that I, unfortunately, didnβt capture a whole lot of but I did have my Zoom H1n with me so I got a couple recordings. I did cut the clips quite short because of the factory making a racket in the background.

Walking along the Yarra River on Saturday I witnessed something incredibly unusual. Come to find out that what/who I saw was Salvitore the fur seal, who swims upstream to catch fish! Legend!

I found this strange purple berry like thing in the shade in the bush near the riverbank of the Yarra River in Warburton. Does anyone know what it is? It's probably poisonous I've never seen this colour in nature before.
