A list of puns related to "Xenix"
Iβm a TRS-80 collector and Iβve a Model 16 running Xenix 3.2. As a project Iβd like to port a MUD to this system to play locally. Xenix would be limited to terminal based access so Iβm looking for recommendations on which code base to consider.
Once upon a time even Microsoft had its own Unix version. Just finished reading 'UNIX: A History and a Memoir' by Brian Kernighan and found this picture there.
I also remember using XENIX back in the early 90s not to much of my liking but it was an affordable version which could run on cheap hardware. Microsoft's public FTP servers ran on it I recall.
Microsoft eventually sold that business to SCO, Santa Cruz Operation.
\"A program that supervises a computer\" that's what an OS is
A local gaming gear company 'Xenics' decided to sponsor Flash Lux with gaming gears after reading about the team's poor peripherals situation.

EDIT:changed xenix to xenics.
It was supposed to be the OS in 1981 IBM PC, but it was so powerful and heavy for the personal computers in that era. Instead, Microsoft developed MS-DOS 1.0 which was more lightweight (12K vs 100K of XENIX) .
XENIX was descontinued in favor of MS-DOS 2.0 in 1983. MS-DOS 2.0 File System was inspired in XENIX File System.
MS-DOS is a modification of 86-DOS, developed by Seattle Computers Products and bought by Microsoft in 1980. And 86-DOS is a imitation of CP/M, but was upgraded to run in 8086 microcontrollers.

Just go my QEMU VM setup with Xenix 2.3.4 thanks to this, anything fun to do with it ? Any oddities about this system ?
I've yet to make TCP/IP work but I guess after that, getting lynx and an irc client working would be nice :)
