A list of puns related to "Type Specimen"
Let's say I want to search for all of the amputation specimen in certain period. Does EPIC allow me to do that?
It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting
Hi everyone. Thought I'd share a Medium article I came across recently discussing the topic of themes when creating Type Specimens. I think this is an important subject that is rarely discussed in branding.

Hey everyone! Welcome to part one of my HEL series I guess I'll be calling it. What happens when a clandestine alien operation desperate for more first-hand information on human social structure abducts humans from what they only knew as a location where people enter and almost never leave, known as a "prison" to the locals? Our resident xenology team struggles to adapt to their growing understanding of their potentially fatal mistake and still salvage useful information to inform policies on future eventual First Contact with humanity as a whole.

The opportunity of the century had finally come. Our xenobiology mission had been stalled due to the many restrictions imposed upon us regarding acceptable risks of first contact with humanity and specimen collection. We had next to no guidelines for collecting the outlying breeds away from populated areas but from simple observations it was clear that we needed more data on the breeds that lived within their denser populated areas. We had been able to establish a rapport with some of the collected breeds from densely forested and mountainous areas and further our grasp of the language and some mechanics of their societal structure but with a strong overtone of aggression and eventual depression and shutdown. The working theory was a specimen from a denser populated area would likely be more intelligent and social thus building a connection with that individual would allow us through interviews to gain a stronger understanding of human culture, historical precedents, and inform policy makers on future guidelines for first contact. The problem we were stymied with was the mandatory black out order; under no circumstances could we allow greater human society to know with certainty we were present and collecting specimens. So how were we to collect a specimen from a population center? Nature, it would be determined, would be our guide.
A peculiar location on Earth was especially prone to the development of extremely large cyclonic storms that would often make landfall on the coastline of one of the primary continents. Observation over the past few decades showed that this was cyclical and not out of the realm of prediction. What was even more impressive was despite the devastating calculated damage these fronts would wreak on the land many of the coastal breed simply did not budge, choosing to weather the storms. Even these individuals however were beyond our re

While the prisoners remained in containment monitored carefully the xenology department had worked tirelessly to reevaluate the chemistry of the compounds we had thought to be common treatments. The dosing may have been off, or perhaps the first specimen was predisposed to having a negative reaction to the compound but regardless there was great concern about the safety of using them further without additional information; information which must either come from interviewing the individuals or through experimentation. The compounds were not compatible with our speciesβ protein compositions and could not be digested but there were clear relationships between them and ones which we used from our home worlds. Going forward our options for chemically controlling interviews would be significantly hindered now. Choosing the right specimen to begin with next would be a chore.
One by one each of the collected specimens would be revived in a relatively featureless room to determine their immediate response to foreign surroundings with no stimuli around. As best we could figure this would at least indicate which of the specimens would be the most docile to initiate an exchange with and present the best chance of avoiding escalating aggression. Humanity itself is a notably aggressive species evolved from pursuit predators, their ability to remain focused and maintain a mindset for long periods is remarkable, so care had to be taken to ensure any interactions avoided triggering any predatory behavior. It took several hours to run through the experiment, administering amnesiacs as they did so to ensure the specimens would start from scratch when the true interview attempt began.
There was much to be learned from their initial experiences waking up in such nondescri

The security risk was unquestionable but despite the ravings of the security chief demanding the humans be destroyed the mission commander had settled on a compromise. Having established an open dialogue successfully it would be my responsibility to extract as much information as possible from the convict and develop a strategy to safely contain and eventually commune with the rest of the abductees. I took the task to heart and made a point to begin thoroughly recording every action we took and the justifications why knowing that any misunderstanding could escalate to total breakdown and my summary destruction for failure in my duties. For now the first priority was to make the convict, Lee, more comfortable.
As he suggested we connected to their terrestrial information network and began searching for appropriate accommodations for a bed and bathroom. The terms appeared to be exceedingly generalized but through collecting a large sample size and averaging the results we were able to formulate a representative basic living space which immediately the chief security officer did everything to refuse. His concerns were noted and admittedly I had my own fears, the amount of loose material was terrifying in terms of an escape possibility. We settled on initially continuing the interview with the safe environment and establishing boundaries and expectations we had for the human. So long as he remained cooperative and not a security threat he would be allowed his comfort.
It had been many hours since I had checked on his condition while the meeting dragged on. I didnβt have the luxury of keeping up to date with his actions but left an assistant to document every moment in detail for me. Since my departure he had displayed a series of unusual behaviors that I resolved to clarify in tim

βHey, Mick, wake up man,β Lee beckoned from the opposite side of a familiar room with several beds, himself on one and the other prisoner upon another. Together with his assistance we had crafted a replica of a standard medical room as he knew it and backed it up through surveillance from the drone team during extraction. The theory was that using his direct assistance and mimicking a detailed familiar environment it would be easier to bring this individual up to speed and add to the roster another cooperative specimen. From then the duo would be allowed to socialize and within reason be contained together if they chose and consulted with to act as ambassadors between the xenology team and the other specimens.
Sleepy eyed, the heavy set human lying on his back began to rouse shielding his eyes from the light, body language indicating elevated levels of discomfort and mild pain backed up by xenochemist reports, however no chemical aerosols were to be used to address this. Lee had warned us that Mick was chemically dependent upon a drink called βcoffeeβ which he later clarified was a botanical dilution whose primary function was to deliver a stimulant. While incredibly inefficient in practice for the simple administration of a chemical we did recognize that because of the impure chemistry and the addictive nature of the specific stimulant Mick would likely have elevated aggression. He made the suggestion that more βsodaβ be made available but as we have limited stock of the rations from the prison and were working to analyze and replicate them in the station for now the interaction would have to progress without.
βLee,β he questioned in confusion. βWhere am I, what happened with the storm?β
βWeβre in medical,β Lee lied in response. βStormβs over, one of the doctors that was i
