Iβm just a new killjoy here literally became a fan days before the reunion announcement so I have been going through a whirlwind of emotions with the excitement of discovering this beautiful band, the disappointment and sadness that theyβve broken up and then the sudden happiness that theyβre back together again!
Iβve gotta say I love The Black Parade album. MCR is just so good at separating their music into different eras and each album tells such a poignant and meaningful story. The Black Parade strikes me deeply in the heart because itβs about death and how to accept it, something that Iβm actually fearful of. Helena, I Donβt Love You and Disenchanted are my favourite songs from the album.
But Iβm still a new killjoy though, so if there are any underrated songs from TBP or from other albums please recommend!
Hi everyone! There's a lot of hype going around for MCR reuniting and playing our beloved Riot Fest (who else bought tickets?) but strangely enough, I've had a specific dream for a few months now as I've recently (and obsessively) returned to their 2006 masterpiece. This band has been so special to me and so many others, seeing that the band can break up in 2013 and drop a few teasers on YouTube to sell out arena venues across the US in the span of a week. While I can go on for hours about how this timeless album is meant to be a cathartic celebration and that putting on a live show in a small Chicago bar for a few fellow savage fans will mean so much and be a blast, I'll jump to the request.
A few friends and I are looking for musicians who are also obsessed with this album to come together, rehearse, and put on a fun performance for whatever venue will bite. My buddy will play guitar, and I will (maybe) channel my inner Gerard and sing if I have enough steam to hit the high notes in Famous Last Words. We are looking for any and all musicians, costume designers, lighting technicians, sound engineers, etc. as this album has a lot of moving parts. If you or a friend would be interested, PM me. We are hoping to put on this show before MCR blows the non-existent roof off at Douglas Park.
Thanks!

Put on your eyeliner, dress up in black, and scream at your mom that it's not a phase, because we're going back to the 2000's for some hardcore emotional memes y'all.
I mean I certainly haven't been listening to My Chemical Romance on repeat for the last 15 years instead of developing my taste in music, yesiree this is quite the throwback.
You all know what emo is, don't act like you were a cool kid growing up, otherwise you wouldn't be on a meme page on reddit for a story about superheroes that's only been published online.
Rules:
Post must be emo subculture related in some manner. Slap some AFI lyrics on Grey Boy fanart, draw Mannequin spelling "rawr" out of a keyboard, pull a glows and make a goddamn music video.
Goth, punk, and scene kids are also welcome.
If you really don't know if your post will count as emo/whatever, the comments will probably be pedantic enough that you'll figure it out one way or the other.
Don't just reference post a Youtube link to MCR's Teenagers and go "lol this is like Skitter" I will hunt you down I swear to god you horrible little cretin
If you're not a POSER you'll get a pretty sweet badge to show your participation.

Now I'm falling asleep, wake me up when September ends.
So I was listening to TBP on vinyl and I had a thought. Does anyone else think that teenagers is kind of the black sheep of the C side?
I mean, there's sleep, disenchanted and famous last words (and blood but shhh that's a secret) which all are very emotional but lower tempo songs and then there's teenagers in the middle which is very different in comparison?
I'm not sure, maybe there's this other meaning that I'm completely missing.
I was on Songsterr to learn how to play Welcome to The Black Parade, and a version of this βwith green dayβ came up and I was wondering if this actually happened, if so does anyone have a link?
With all the excitement and hype for MCR's return, it got me thinking about how excited I've been in the past for MCR related things. I became a fan in around 2007 when I was 12, a little after the release of The Black Parade so I didn't really experience any anticipation for it.... I only really remember the quiet before Danger Days and then the buzz online when Na Na Na was dropped!
I was wondering if anyone who's been a fan pre-Black Parade could tell me what it was like in the wait between Revenge and TBP? Just really curious!
We'll be starting this very soon!
Rank, discuss, and make sure to listen to the record beforehand if you haven't already!!!
