A list of puns related to "Teutonic Order"
I have the opinion needed with the emperor but it says that capital cannot be connected to the empire even when i move my capital to a province directly adjacent the a empire. Am i doing something wrong ? or is this some mechanic to prevent people from expanding the hre for some weird reason ?
This is my favourite crusader, thoughts on?

I have seen a historical time lapse of the teutonic order from 1200 to 2021 and see lots of squares scattered everywhere in Europe and Abit in the middle east, what exactly is it?
Oils, mostly. This is my first time using oil paints to such extent and I am thrilled at the possibilities.

And since when does it exist?
Did monarchs or nobles ever sell pieces of their territory and not keep them as vassals?
I recently read that in 1346, the Duchy of Estonia was sold by the King of Denmark for 19,000 marks to the Teutonic Order. Did any other medieval monarch do this? Are there any notable sales you can remember?
I have a historical fiction book based on the Teutonic Knights and I want to be sure I have my facts right. Is there someone who knows everything there is to know about the Teutonic Order who can help? I just have a variety of questions. Mostly want to know about the government structure of the Order.
I've always wondered what sort of fighting forces kings/nobles kept on hand, even if they couldn't afford to have a standing army.
For instance, Byzantium disbanded its standing armies in the wake of the Muslim-invasion/ and the Plague of Justinian, which killed off much of the population and brought trade to a halt.
But the Byzantine emperors were soon in a bind. The levy-based tagmata system in the provinces was prone to rebellion, and the emperors needed loyal troops nearby that would be constantly training for war and which they could draw on any time they needed to take the field.
So they formed the tagmata, or standing imperial guard regiments, which were the elite of the army and the core of any campaign. There were soon 18,000 or so of these soldiers at Constantinople.
Byzantium was unusually rich and organized for a medieval European state, but I imagine kings and emperors further west much have kept some sort of a standing force for similar purposes?
What sort of forces were kept, and were they in barracks or close at hand, similar to the Byzantine model? How many men could they afford to have at the ready? Were these usually all cavalry?
