A list of puns related to "Television Film"
Discounting, of course, Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins. We all know that one.
Addendum: I'm working on the assumption that a non-Briton being cast as a Briton by the BBC has received just about the highest approval of their assumed accent. Would you say that's fair?

it feels impossible to go a single day without confronting the horrors of pornography and how pervasive it is. i don't even listen to most popular music, but i still can't scroll through the front page of youtube without being advertised some music video that's just covert pornography, and i can't help but become overwhelmed thinking of how many young children are being exposed to it and being told that women are objects, and that it's good to be surrounded by this.
my boyfriend and i both have a penchant for art house cinema, and ever since i discovered his addiction, i don't even feel comfortable watching films with him anymore. i've always took issue with films using women's bodies as a cynical and cheap means of thrill, but at least i could sit through them and give the filmmakers the benefit of the doubt at times. sex and nudity can be done well artistically without inherent objectification, but as long as there is a porn addicted man around, it doesn't matter. he will make it about his pleasure, forget "art." i don't want to watch any movie with my boyfriend anymore without vetting it first to make sure there won't be a long sex scene, or women's bodies on display for him to drool over and feel triggered by. when we are watching a movie together and there is suddenly a nude woman, suggestive and sexualized, i feel so humiliated, my mind races with panicked thoughts about what must be going through his mind, how he is visually dismembering her in his mind's eye, zoning in on her breasts, then her thighs, her stomach, her buttocks, becoming nothing but meat.
you devote yourself entirely to a man, oh well, he can't do the same because god says so. no! the only reason a man can't devote himself entirely to a woman is either because he doesn't love her, or because he's been conditioned from birth by the patriarchy to see women's bodies as objects he has a right to. often, it's both.
if i voiced this publicly, many men would call me crazy, because to men, viewing women as nothing but fleshy pleasure-vessels is "natural" and "normal." they claim to be "visual creatures," forgetting that this is proven to be false and women actually have better vision, more vivid imaginations, better pattern-recognition, and higher artistic sensibilities. they claim that anyone who finds this strange or sad is simply jealous and hates men! because to *these* men, dehumanization of women is inherent to their manhood and their god-given right. eff that.
i understand that
... keep reading on reddit β‘Always wondered what a world war 3 epic would be like, we don't get to see the good guys. Would some include a depiction of Zefram Cochrane being responsible for pulling Earth out of the aftermath?
Had to make a throwaway because I feel βI shouldβve figured it out by nowβ. I apologize as this is all over the place, which is why I need some guidance.
I know what the end product is and I just canβt figure out how to get there. I want to provide basic mental health services to people in a way that reaches large populations (maybe via social media/tech/media/other mediums).
Mental health includes nutrition, physical health, as well as emotional stability and financial literacy, and family interpersonal relations. I feel my goal is too broad which is why Iβm so stuck.
I have wanted this since I was a teenager as none of those services were provided to me; having to piece things together from multiple not so reliable sources. I would like someone out there to save their time especially at a young age.
I studied psychiatric nurse practitioner and currently waiting to start practicing. However not a fan of prescribing for a lifetime, donβt believe in half the meds in psychiatry either yet I pursued the profession just to βopen more doorsβ. I can practice independently soon and have my own clinic as well.
I also teach nurses for a living at the moment and my goal is to always break down things for them without shaming their lack of scientific knowledge. so far I have gotten a good response from my students to βteach us the entire nursing program pleaseβ consistently and I have taught about 300-400 students by now.
Previously I did group therapy and helped inmates at a prison create short skits to perform weekly. It was Rewarding yet short lived as it was a pilot program. always found myself around Theater, film, tv, writers, and musicians.
Keep feeling like Iβm missing a huge point of what I could be doing with my interests yet here Iβm deciding between prescribing versus βhow to educate on a wide scaleβ. Thought about combining creating a tv show with elements of practical application of therapy yet when I look into actual screenwriting and filming itβs a whole new animal.
Help.
This might be a dumb question. I was watching Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and was wondering if for Chinese speakers (Mandarin, Cantonese, etc.) there is a typical "period drama" accent used in Cinema, similar to how in English films depicting Medieval or other historical eras often use regional English accents to show something is in the past.
Or people who speaker other languages, what is your equivalent? I speak German and English and I have never encountered something of that sort in German. You always just find High German (or RP German essentially).
In short, I would like to start being more mindful of my behavior in public. Iβm afraid that Iβve been doing things that are off putting and socially awkward and want to start learning how to behave in a way that is deemed at the very least social.
I was watching The Flight Attendant and there is a scene where the main character and her FWB are attacked by an assassin (who she also slept with). He brags about having sex with her, to which she makes a snarky comment about him compensating with his large knife. This is played as a triumphant moment, with the main character taking back control by pushing the guyβs buttons.
I guess what Iβm trying to ask is, why are emasculating moments like this depicted in such a positive light? I get that he is the villain but, even in situations without any clearly defined good guys and bad guys, size mockery is overwhelmingly presented in a warped βYou go, girl! Tell him how small his tiny ass dick is!β manner.
I donβt know. I just find it really backwards and toxic.
What do you think?
I'd like to start exploring Iranian film from within country and abroad, plus any Iranian TV that is relevant and/or interesting.
Im particularly interested in the early history of Islamic Persia but not sure what exists out there, if anything, as well as finding content dealing with Baha'i practitioners historically or currently.
I've been exploring and obsessing over Persian music for a while now and really just want to expand my horizon to include other types of art from Iran, film and tv being an immediate and obvious one. Literature is next.
I don't understand Farsi so that's obviously a major issue π
I have some wonderful, healthy 8 people in my life and I've seen the stereotype of 8s being straight up evil in television and film.
This got me thinking about how other Enneagrams are presented in television and film, especially in comedy and sitcoms where there are more stock characters.
I'm a 1 and I feel like 1s are presented as THE MOST annoying, uptight people ever (e.g. Monica from Friends, Claire from Fleabag, Hermione Granger.)
I feel like 6s are always the "every man" or "every woman" and they're usually the central character (e.g. Ted Mosby).
Do you agree? Are there other Enneagram stereotypes you're seeing play out in television and film?
I'm not talking about the obvious page difference.
In terms of structure, if you write both - are there certain things you will do in one that you wouldn't in the other. Does it change the risks you take in your script? What do you think differentiates the two the most in terms of how you approach it?
What in your opinion is your favorite or best character from a fantasy book that was just not adapted into a film or TV show . Personally, mine is Tom Bombadil but I do understand the theories on why he wasn't put in.
Talking strictly hand to hand and martial arts. Looking for movies similar to The Raid, the night comes for you, and the show Warrior. I am aware of the tony jaa films as well, but is there anything else that flies under the radar or that you might think is lesser known/doesnβt get enough credit for how great its fight scenes are?
