A list of puns related to "Teleprompters"
Hey,
I'm a TV news anchor and we recently switched all our (20+) studios from sitting behind a desk to standing up. What no one thought of was to change the pedal we use to control the teleprompter. It is way too tall and my back is killing me from standing with my foot in a 35 degree angle all the time.
Does anyone here have a good solution? If you control your own teleprompter while standing up... how the hell do you do it?
The current pedal is a "sustain pedal", the kind you use for a piano. IMAGE It has a 1/4"/6,3mm plug that connects to a USB converter. What happens from there I don't know and is out of my control.
Right now I'm looking att trying out a lower profile sustain pedal, but it's still not ideal. IMAGE
Thankful for any and all input on this! It's driving me nuts.
LATE EDIT: I checked and our teleprompter system is from βPrompterPeopleβ, going from the markings on the actual screen. Their range of accessories is really meager and they really only offer a pedal or a wired desktop controller
So I have been rewatching past season like many of you guys during the quarantine.
During my rewatching I have observed so many problematic situations they put the girls in: posing in a coffin after someone died, posing dead after your friend ODed, asking people to tone down their race/sexuality pride, blaming victims of sexual assault for not performing well with males, manipulating people into having their teeth permanently altered.
I've seen a lot of these come up in this subreddit but a new one for me was the challeng in cycle 13 episode 8. They make the girls use a teleprompter during an interview and deliberately set the teleprompter to jumbled letters in the middle.
This is presented as a test for adaptability or improv but in hindsight I think it is much more likely that they were setting up Laura (who has been open about her dyslexia) to fail purely for drama. If it was for another reason, they could have just made the screen blank.
What do you guys think?
Hi all, I bought a teleprompter with the special glass and all, but it cuts 2 full stops of light when in use. Is this normal? I googled but failed to find a direct answer.
Is there better glass? Some technique? I just put it at around 45 degrees and used the black cloth to make sure no light got to it from the backside or from around the lens.
I know I can add light but just want to know if, for example, I got shafted on a poor quality glass or something or if it is normal to lose 75% of the light.
Hi All,
Anyone have an opinion/preference on teleprompters? I am looking to buy some to go into a 3 camera studio/production lab at a university. I am wondering about brands and also the differences between the ones that attach to the camera's versus the ones that stand alone on a stand?
Thanks.
