[Event] The Great Synod of 87 AD

Starry Sept, Oldtown - 7th Month 87 AD

Raised 1000 years ago by Blessed Lord Triston Hightower, the Starry Sept is a massive structure, the largest Sept in Westeros. Rivaled only by the Citadel and the Hightower itself, it is one of the three enormous structures that make Oldtown the wondrous city that it is. The Starry Sept is made entirely out of black marble, light let in through wonderful rainbow stained-glass arched windows that decorate the seven walls of the inner building. Holes cut into the elegantly decorated walls have been fitted with grand crystals, the sunlight filtering through casting wonderful rainbows of color across the Sept's floor. Beside each grand wall is a statue of immense size, carved with fine workmanship into the likenesses of the Seven's aspects. The ceiling itself is inlaid with thousands of small, fist-sized crystals. At night, from the small room above the ceiling, great braziers of fire are lit, causing the crystals to sparkle and shimmer like stars when viewed from the floor below. The interior of the Starry Sept is held up by ornate black-marble composite-style columns, including two smaller columns along the great oaken doors that sit at the front of the Sept, guarded always by Warrior's Sons.

A total of 79 seats have been brought inside the sept in preparation for the large gathering of the Most Devout. The golden throne of the High Septon stood beneath the statue of the Father. It was in an elevated position, so that the leader of the Faith could keep the overview over the proceedings at all time. To his right side was a smaller chair, reserved for the Grand Captain of the Warrior's Sons. Alas, both seats remained empty this year. In front of these two elevated thrones was a row of tables with another 8 seats. From left to right sat the Procurator Mace, Procurator Grover, Procurator Rosamund, Chamberlain Hugo, Procurator Creighton, Procurator Obara, Procurator Walys and Procurator Alaric. Facing these most influential members of the clergy was the rest of the Most Devout. A total of 69 seats were arranged in a semicircle. Of these, eighteen green chairs were reserved for the representatives from the Reach, eleven chairs in indigo and blue each for the Most Devout from the Trident and Vale respectively. Nine red chairs for the Westerlands, eight yellow chairs for the Stormlands and six orange chairs for Dorne completed the major faithful regions of Westeros. Two violet chairs were reserved for the Most Devout fro

Episode 127 - Synod of Whitby

Iโ€™m pretty behind on the podcast, but I just listened to this episode. I thought since Easter is just around the corner, I thought Iโ€™d mention it. I love learning about holidays and their origins and theories about why things are the way they are. I found this episode fun to listen to and maybe some of you would want to go back and revisit it.

Each of our wounds or trauma is typically looking for validation and being able to make that wound worst sometimes gratifies our subconscious as we can then scream louder, bringing attention of those who we think can but wo truly cannot help us. This indulgence like any other indulgence delays the healing, prolongs the trauma and yes sometimes it adds to the suffering creative in us which could be brought out now. Sometimes like a screaming child it just wants attention, sometimes like a wailing person who lost someone it just hopes God or fate will reverse its doing, sometimes like a hailstorm it just wants to rain down misery on everyone around it cause its miserable. It makes for a spectacle, some watch cause they have been waiting for you to breakdown to validate themselves, some watch cause they love who you are and want to catch you when you fall, some watch cause you remind them of their own trauma and it validates their wounding.

Today as we drown in Pisces moon Neptune waters, north node in Gemini makes a connection with this wound, it gives it words to talk, it gives it mindshare to think about it objectively and it also opens a door for us to grow from it. Will we take that door ? Will we be willing to step out of our comfort zone of indulging in the wound. Itโ€™s almost like how we move forward depends on it. Cause the moment we step out of the wound and the damage it has done, seems resources and allies are waiting for us. In another tact sometimes moving forward on our life path irrespective of our wounds can help us move past them, like as we grow on our life path we outgrow our wounds. These are wounds of identity, of not being enough as a person, of not being valued for our uniqueness and of our past failure to act or stand up for ourself. As Venus trines Pluto, emotions can get very intense and relationship wounds can come up from the past.

Will we be open to draw on the perspective our identity wounds have given us to help someone out as well. Never underestimate your ab

[CLAIM] The Synod

Excerpts taken from the journal of a rogue scholar.

The college of mages famous for their shunning of arcane schools in which may be perceived immoral or heretical by those unversed in the higher arts. There is a reason for the Synod's name, dogmatic fools strayed far away from the true arts of magic. It is this institution in which I take bitter interest in. For righteous as they may see themselves, they are naught but treasure hunters and scavengers indentured to the arch mage and ever creeping political interests of the elder council and the thalmor.

Plastered with decadence and decorated in lies, the halls and grounds of their college is unlike any of others. Just as well, no college can hope to measure up with their staggering arsenal of stolen artifacts with which begins my list of discrepancies presented by this organization. If not clear by now, I do not believe that the Synod is what it claims to be and fronts itself as. With this journal I shall attempt to expose to innumerable lies of the colleges council and its leader.

Notable Individuals

Archmage Laniel - The Arch mage is not often spoken of, for there is not much to speak of. What is known is that he has been the arch mage since the institutions official founding in the beginning of the fourth era. Records of him that existed before the founding of the Synod seem to have all but vanished. This fact, whether intentionally or not, seems to have slipped by detection.

Kemarick Hazrad - The head of the Synods grand council, as blind in his vision as he is insane, with many if not most of his works discredited by even those employed by the Synod. He ensures that the tenants of the college are followed and nothing more.

Valifire Adaen - The head archivist, like many of the Synod, blinded by false promises. An altmer who searches for and catalogs artifacts, times, scrolls, and all other trinkets of magical origin. Despite her present, Valifire had a promising start, being pushed ahead due to her amazingly adept and innate prowess. However after becoming the student of Laniel, with which her decline happened seemingly overnight. This leads one such as myself to question if she is truly the fool she plays. This will need further investigation.

Ysatia Amateia - *A stark contrast to all the former and practitioner of alteration, and a rather odd standout opposed to the rest, with her appointment to the council most likely being solely based from he

WELS Synod school experiences - a rant

I went to an evangelical lutheran school until I was 12, and I would like to go on a bit of a rant, mainly focused on why I left. This will get pretty political, please be nice to my comments section.

First of all, the reason I went there in the first place. I have severe ADD, and I wasnโ€™t doing well with large classes in the public schools, so my parents wanted to send me to a smaller school. The first place they had in mind was a small Montessori school, but they couldnโ€™t fully afford it, so they asked my paternal grandparents (who are quite well-off and very conservative) for some financial help. My grandparents said that they wouldnโ€™t pay to send me there, but instead to a WELS synod Lutheran school. I was only 5 at the time, so I didnโ€™t have any say in the matter, so I just ended up going there.

Now, I didnโ€™t see any issues with the school itself (I had various social issues, but thatโ€™s beside the point) and really liked it there, mostly because some of my cousins (from the aforementioned, evangelical, paternal side of the family) went there, but I didnโ€™t see that I had been raised with a very different set of values than most of my classmates. Once in third grade someone mentioned that they thought that gay marriage shouldnโ€™t be legal (this was a few years before it was legalized nationwide) and I mentioned that I thought it should be, much to everyoneโ€™s shock (cut to me now, a raging pansexual). Another time in fourth grade we were talking about the current election for governor (we were weirdly politically charged at the tender ages of nine and ten) and I stated that unlike them, I liked the Democratic candidate, who wouldnโ€™t rampantly defund schools. I was promptly smacked around with โ€œthat candidate supports abortion, so you support killing babiesโ€ argument. Things really escalated around the 2016 election, because all the churchgoer chads in my class talked about how much they loved Trump all the damn time. I got into a conversation with another girl about it, and she was genuinely shocked when I told her about the access Hollywood tape. This was mainly when I realized that my classmates were getting a completely different view of everything than I did.

The main reason why I left had to to with the good olโ€™ total denial of science. This school used Christian science textbooks (because those exist) so that we didnโ€™t learn anything that ran contrary to the Bible. But in sixth grade, things just went too far. My teache

Resigning from my synod on New Yearโ€™s Eve

Hi guys. I posted about a year ago about being emotionally and spiritually abused by a pastor. I know itโ€™s not sexual abuse, but itโ€™s still fucked up.

After I reported to the synod quite a while ago, said pastor continues to be gainfully employed, in a public role. So Iโ€™m resigning as a rostered minister in that synod on New Yearโ€™s Eve.

I know it wonโ€™t matter, as nothing has up to this point. No one is willing to stand up to said pastor. Gotta love church politics. Still, at least I can walk away and not be part of it anymore.

Scorpio to Pisces 2021 - Uranus is about to go direct mid of the month and will be standing still as an integral part of two intermingled synods that will play out in 2021 and color the year for us. Check by sign what Uranus shifts you might crave and experience.

Happy New Year everyone!

2021 is beginning with two synods intermingling with each other right at the onset. Synods are the dance of external planets and their different phases show up in significant global events which shape our life over a long tenor.

Uranus the planet of sudden changes, freedom, volatility and surprises is making a hard aspect with Jupiter followed by Saturn. These two synods bring about accelerated shifts in progression of human existence usually through scientific and technical breakthroughs. Hard aspect indicates there will be huge resistance, dissonance which would be offered to these accelerated changes creating friction. Hard aspects also show division in society. We would see that play out right in Jan when stationary Mars meets Uranus on 20th Jan resulting in uninhibited action which could be extremely volatile and even violent few days before and after. We crave absolute freedom and different people would have at it in different manner. Uranus brings sudden shifts that are essential for us to live a life of authenticity to ourselves. Jupiter will expand these changes and also underpins that these events are a must for our collective expansion.

There is no planet retrograde till month end, post Uranus goes direct on 14th - speed, unexpected events, sudden need to break through - all is upon us and at a speed we havenโ€™t experienced before. So use this brief calm before it all begins to put down your anchor - imagine if the external dynamics didnโ€™t exist and we were listening to the noise a bit less what you and I could have achieved in 2020. Take that forward to 2021. Create your anchor before the storm, cause if you have an anchor, a definite outcome you could in someways get ahead of it - the storm around it then would just become facilitator and impetus towards that goal. Else these aspects will decide for you and in fixed signs these changes are long term changes.

Letโ€™s look at Uranus by sign to see where you would need to set yourself free to fully realize the value of these two synods coming up. Even though 2021 is pivotal in these changes, Uranus will be in this house till 2026 so these are longer term shifts.

Seasons Greetings from the Synod of Dort

An animadversion from the Synod of Dort (1574), first in time and last in mind:

> With regard to feast days, upon which, besides the Lord's day, it has been customary to abstain from labour, and to assemble in the Church, it is resolved that we must be contented with the Lord's day alone. The usual subjects, however, of the birth of Christ, of his resurrection, and sending of the Holy Spirit, may be handled and the people be admonished, that these feast days are abolished.
