A list of puns related to "Presbytery"
You can read the full letter here. https://1ar.s3.amazonaws.com/2020/08/Letter-to-MOP.pdf
For those of you wondering immediately "Why was this made public?" - direct quote from footnote #3
> SEAL privately sent its Report to MOP in August 2019, purposely making sure not to publish it online to give MOP time to read and respond to SEALβs Report. Now, basically one year later (August 2020), MOP is responding to SEALβbut not in a similarly private way. Given that MOP has made its response public, SEAL is making this letter public.
So where to from here for the PCA? Will this topic see more attention at GA? Will the investigation be renewed? I'm not sure what a "best case scenario" for all concerned parties is at the moment.
The Missouri Presbytery has completed its heresy investigation of Greg Johnson over "gay identity" and related things. It's here.
Though I haven't read the whole thing in detail, I thought it did a good job of explaining the Reformed position and treating the parties fairly. Greg Johnson was exonerated of all the charges brought up. And it's a helpful clarification of what at least some of the "celibate gay" or "same-sex attracted" (for lack of a better term) folks in the PCA are actually professing and advocating.
Some have had questions (mostly due to Aquilla report articles and hearing rumors about Vanguard around the internet) about the new Presbyterian denomination forming. A couple weeks ago there was a thread here on r/reformed with some questions. Unfortunately no one from Vanguard was on Reddit to answer any questions at the time. I've reached out to some of their leadership and hopefully will have some sort of Q&A either on youtube, on their website, or if so desired here on reddit.
The first official gathering of this new group is happening today, and can be viewed via youtube livestream. The convocation is today from 10AM Eastern till roughly 7PM Eastern.
Vanguard presents itself this way "The Formation of a New Denomination Representing the Continuing Church. Connected to the Historical Reformation. Presbyterian in Polity. Focused on Evangelism.

So me and a mate run a youtube exploring abandoned, haunted and creepy locations. We have been to loads and recently did a 2 night stay in the Blue mountains Australia in a haunted presbytery. Our first night in we went out and about the area investigating other location's and on our second night we investigated the presbytery. We tried the Ouija board, with no luck we decided to go to bed. We set up cameras around the place incase by chance we capture something...and we did. First was a door which remained opened the entire stay close on it's own accord. The second a mug in the kitchen area being thrown to the floor. We both heard the mug fall and woke to see wtf the noise was. When we re watched the footage we were both very spooked. All this is documented in our Youtube video linked below. Check it out and let us know your thoughts.

So me and a friend booked out a Old presbytery turned BNB in a ghost town in the Blue mountains Sydney Australia. It is known by locals to be rather "Active" on our second night we toyed with the Ouija board, no success. But before we went to sleep we decided to set up cameras around to see if we get anything through the night. This is only a 47sec clip of a full video over 20 mins long. I will post the link to the video below if you would all like to see the full length video. There is also the door to the kitchen which closes after my friend goes to the bathroom. Anyhow this woke us both up and upon going out to see what the noise was i noticed the front door to the presbytery cracked open, just slightly. We thought we had been broken into. we checked all our gear, car and the property and saw or found no one. we left not long after this spooked tf out.

[I request that only Christians participate in this discussion, but I can't force anyone to remain silent]
Westminster Presbytery was in the news in 2013: https://www.theaquilareport.com/westminster-presbytery-pca-are-the-rumors-true/
>Westminster Presbytery (PCA) β Are the Rumors True? Unless you hold to a Six Day β 24 Hour Creationism, you need not apply for membership in Westminster Presbytery
Potomac Presbytery was a bit horrified by the stance of Westminster Presbytery.
I was a member in good standing at Potomac Presbytery prior to relocating.
I personally sided with Potomac Presbytery on this issue. Here was their open letter to Westminster Presbytery:

>Surely we can distinguish between faithfulness to the broad historicity of the text essential to the Gospel and the difficulty of construing certain Scripture texts in relation to statements of scientific cosmology. Are you really declaring that men such as C. Hodge, Shedd, Beattie, Adger, A.A. Hodge, Warfield, Bavinck, Machen, Schaeffer, and Gerstner, as well as many lesser but faithful servants here in Potomac, are not fit to be ministers of the Gospel in the PCA? (See, e.g., the attached statements of Shedd and Bavinck.) [Note: Not Available on the web at this time]
My pastor at Potomac Presbytery believed in a six-day creation, but he sided with Potomac's view (which I heard was unanimous).
I used to be an evolutionist, then a Old Earth Creationist, then a Young Earth/Cosmos Creationist based on my evaluation of the scientific evidence. I have 5 science degrees including a MS in Applied Physics from Johns Hopkins and an MS equivalent in Biology from the FAES grad school at the NIH, and I work for a world renowned geneticist (John C. Sanford) studying genetic issues related to Adam and Eve.
It was because the church welcomed me for decades while I did not believe in six-day creation, that I had the freedom to consider and ponder and study the issues from a scientific standpoint rather than a hermaneutical one.
I think Westminster's approach is unwise. John C. Sanford became a Christian at age 39 after a life of atheism. It was not until age 49 he began to reject evolutionary theory. He was a world class geneticist. He and people like him should have the freedom to be part of a church, to accept communion, and in the Lord's time
... keep reading on reddit β‘Started KC:D earlier and had a pop-up saying I had left something valuable on a corpse and could get it from the presbytery. Where is it? Thanks.
Is it language or is there something to Py's that is special about a political nation?
