A list of puns related to "Symbols Of Communism"
The flags from Soviet Union, China, Vietnam, Yugoslavia and North Korea all have something in common; they all figure one or more five point star. The first one was the Soviet, an I figure the others took it as inspiration, but why is the star such a common symbol for socialist countries?
In A Broken Frame we see a woman with a sickle and in Construction Time Again we see a man with a hammer. A sickle and hammer, with songs criticising uncontrolled Capitalism, like "Everything Counts"
Do you guys think that there should be a modern communist symbol as the hammer and sickle symbol is usually tainted by Stalinβs reign over the U.S.S.R and is usually seen as evil? Edit: After reading everybody's responses I now agree we should wear the hammer and sickle proudly, thanks to everyone for the feedback.

In other words, are the tragedies of these two instances of communism indicative of communism as a concept? People talk about communism as if they are, but Iβve never been entirely convinced
I donβt know if this is the right sub for this but I was banned from r/communism for basically nothing so idk where else to ask this question
Hi everyone! I'm a college student who is in the midst of reading theory and watching great explanations about socialism (and communism by extension). Many of the historical figures I admire were communists, socialists, and anarchists. I'd consider myself a socialist at this point, but I need to do more research before I'd consider myself an ML or Trotskyist or anarchist or what have you.
I'd always known that Catholicism didn't like communism, but a quick peek at the other sub left me shocked. How scared these adults are about the "Red Menace"! They post Fulton Sheen videos banging on about communism using McCarthyist talking points. There's no true political theory to be found. Just "communism is when no iphone and no creativity! breadlines! venezuela!"
And the church eggs this on! In fact, if I'm not mistaken, you can be excommunicated for declaring yourself a communist and participating in such activities. This is so outrageous that I'm surprised it isn't talked about more. Imagine: men whose only jobs are to prey on children participate in daily rituals and read apologetics have decided what political ideologies their followers can and cannot practice. And not only that, but they expect us to believe that God personally told them "communism bad".
You don't have to agree with the ideology. Many people have valid critiques on it. But to stoop so low as to kick out members of your church for believing capitalism is unethical and should be replaced with a more equitable system...I'm astonished.
What do you guys think? Any anti-capitalists here, or at least critics of capitalism?
(P.S. I have a good idea of why the church actually hates communism, but I don't want to get into it in the post. I can elaborate if anyone would like me to, though I think the answer is probably readily apparent to most people.)
It's a legend.
You are a legend
There were so many red flags.
