A list of puns related to "Swedish Massage"
I feel dumb asking because I've been doing this for around 7 years; but a client asked me and I drew a complete blank.
Like, I've blended different modalities into my routine, but it's still booked as "Swedish."
I manage to BS my way and told them "More focus on Kneading and Petrissage. But I incorporate different techniques to suit the the individual"
But now I'm wondering: what defines a massage as Swedish?
Is there a "proper technique" if someone explicitly says they want Swedish?
I have been going to a massage therapist that works from her home to get a sports massage and I read online the services she offers and one of the options said Swedish/Tantra massage. What should I expect?
Swedish massage is aimed to be relaxing as we all know. I see some massage therapy schools syllabus (offering Swedish massage courses) that show students the difference between therapeutic and relaxing massage.
As for myself, in my school we didnβt talk about how to give a therapeutic massage. Now, I understand what it means, but I feel like thereβs a lack in my knowledge.
Iβd like to hear if you have/havenβt been taught the therapeutic side at your school. And just any suggestion on this regard.
I recently decided to get a deep tissue massage after a weightlifting and basketball session, thinking it would help with muscle recovery and soreness, but I actually felt even more tight and sore in certain areas (e.g., calves the following days) relative to how I normally would feel without a massage. This got me thinking, am I better off getting a light massage (e.g., Swedish massage) instead of a deep tissue massage (e.g., tui na) next time? Or is the pain simply part of the process to promote muscle recovery?
My primary goals are to promote muscle growth and muscle recovery (so I can get back on the court faster), with muscle soreness ideally being minimized (although I can tolerate more soreness/pain if it advances the aforementioned goals).
Thanks!
I'm getting a massage with MLD but I don't know what to expect even after looking at youtube videos. What is the pressure like? What areas of the body does the therapist go for and how different is it from a swedish massage?
So I have this massage therapist ive seen a couple times over the course of the pandemic and shes super chill and it's a cool setting.. And so yeah this time i decided to take 2g beforehand
Good lord did it feel amazing. I have horrible tension in my back/shoulders/neck from anxiety/deskwork.
As she worked my back and neck it hurt pretty bad, but i legitimately felt my stressful thoughts coming up, and then kinda fading away as she worked the knots out.
I felt really stressed and uncomfortable at first tbh, kinda an odd setting to trip..
But by the end of it I was so fucking insanely relaxed like ive never felt in my LIFE. I feel like the weight of 10000 earth's worth of stress has been taken off my physical form, and my mental. Legit felt like I just did some heroin.
It was really therapeutic to talk to her and human touch just feels so nice while tripping.
This all helped me internally process so much shit today.
Tl;dr idk WHAT it was but getting a massage while tripping was one of the most amazing things of my life. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
