A list of puns related to "Surface Supplied Diving"
This comment claimed that this is the case, and it got some traction.
(A link to said incident is found in the hyperlink above.)
As you can see the OP mention in the same thread, apparently it used to be βassumedβ by the crew that everyone was onboard if the engines started. Uhh?
What are your opinions regarding boat diving where all divers enter the water and noone is left in the boat for surface support? This has been standard practice for a local dive club for the last 30 years. There's been at least one incident where the divers got caught in a current and fortunately another boat saw them and picked them up. We don't usually have much current but when there is the dive starts heading into the current and we drift back. Theres also been other times when mooring lines have broken duringthe dive. It hasn't happened to the club but it has happened with some of the charters.
I'm feeling like its just a matter of time before someone gets stranded but they've had 30 years of success with their approach.
I'm looking into PLB options or even a marine radio in a protective case. Unfortunately I can't find a case thatllchold my radio. Whats your favorite option that'll link me to nearby boats or a sat connection to lifeguards/coastguard?
The answer to this question is conveniently NOT in the Student Solutions Manual, and I'm studying this remedial math textbook months in advance of the actual course, so I can't ask the prof for clarification yet.
Since the problem does not state the falcon's elevation before diving, does this mean the problem cannot be solved, thus is a trick question?
Or do I assume "surface of the lake" is 0 feet, thus the falcon's elevation relative to the lake before the dive is 192 feet?
Absolute value is easy beginner's math but this question is vague af and difficult to answer.
To note, this is from the Foundations of Mathematics textbook (Hang Lau) for McGill's CMSC 000 course. Page 7, problem #54.
Thanks for any help you can provide!
Happy studying
